Editorial Reviews
About the Artist
John Kodi has had various luxuries and baller accessories such as money, women, cars & “that California chronic” at arm's reach since he mastered the art of hustling. During that time, Kodi's business partner Giovanni Wolfgang made a joke or two about the effect of Kodi's success on his waistline. His resemblance to “the Kodiak bear” was a joke between the two that was initially laughed off, but eventually became his trademark. Kodiak went on the road with Rodney O & Joe Cooley and got a chance to see huge crowds of people react to music they love. He also had an earlier experience in the field of touring - he went through high schools like revolving doors. It was during a short stint at Kennedy High School that he met J Ro (The Alkaholiks) who lived in Pacoima and hung out with King Tee. The two became friends, but soon he was moved to Granada Hills High School where he met another future Alkaholik, E Swift (known then as E B Fresh). E had a house on Ludlow Street, which was home of the Ludlow Street Posse and Ultimate Player Productions. Swift's dad was constantly out of town, so naturally E's house became “the place to be.” Kodiak and the Likwit Crew remained friends after school and are still good friends to this day. “There's lots of people out there that are so talented, but don't have the money to make it happen for themselves. We have someone in our camp that believes in our music and what we're trying to get done. Good lookin' out Uncle Mike!” Kodiak is grateful to have the opportunity to finally make his dream happen.

Product Description
Indostructable is the title song created by The Colony, Kodiak's bicoastal hip-hop group Songs like “Bitch Ass Nigga”, “Reach For The Sky” and “We All Know You Came To Party” are all expressions of views that Kodiak has had for a long time. ‘Bitch Ass Nigga' is dedicated to all the people that said they were down for me, yet never raised a finger to help me.” “Reach For The Sky” sounds inspirational, but warns you about watching your back or getting jacked, and “We All Know You Came To Party” is a tribute to the girls that spend hours getting ready for the club, only to hold up the wall while waiting for that perfect baller to scoop them up instead of getting their party on. Rapper Funkdoobiest appears on “Bring Me all the Money”. “Kodiak is the Man” is the most controversial song on the Indostructible album. “I was up for about 4 days in a row, kinda delirious, and in that state of mind the serious becomes funny. I kinda wanted to start some controversy - I wanted to get explicit and raw and ridiculous enough to make the listener laugh and say, ‘What the hell is wrong with him?'” “Kodiak is everywhere” simply signifies Kodiak's persona. Every line of the song is something about being an extreme baller, and as you will hear, Kodiak has mastered this! “Cash Burns Fast” is a continuation of the baller conversation. “If you're a baller, there's no way to burn cash slow. It's a simple song with a simple subject, and it's a feel-good song. It's straight to the point. I wanted a west coast feel with an ‘I Got 5 On It' type of style - something to represent California and Status Records at the same time.
