Customer Reviews:
Fefe is great!!.......2007-06-06
I bought this CD pretty much on a whim after I had heard her single, "Everything". Let me say that I didn't like her much at all when her first single "Take Me Away" was out. I'm glad I changed my mind because this is pop/punk pop/rock at its greatest. Some songs are catchy while others just have good lyrics. Some songs have both like one of my favorites "Unforgiven". It's about how Fefe's dad wasn't around for anything in her life. I didn't like this song too much before because of the in-your-face approach but it has since warmed up to me.
The highlights are: "Stupid Little Love Song", "We Went For A Ride" "Kiss Me Fool" "Revolution Song" and the saucy "Give It Up".
If you are a pop fan like me, you will probably like this. If you see it somewhere for about 10 bucks, I'd say you've spent your money well.
Btw, this girl blows Avril Lavigne out of the water completely! I heard that her record company didn't want to release her second CD for some reason, but I also think she's working on finding another label. I hope she picks a good one and continues making good music! I'll certainly be looking out for her!!
Unforgiven.......2007-05-08
Fefe Dobson's music is great, & she's talented as well as beautiful. She writes, she plays, she sings, she performs. I don't buy much of the newer music, I'm a child of the 60's, for me to spend my $ on it, It must be Special. I heard and saw her first on VH1, but only that once. No further airplay that I know of. A major mistake by network execs. I made it a point to seek out her 1st album- Fefe Dobson. I now own 2 copies, I'll give one away as a present. Word of mouth is getting around about her. But if Whoever decides these things- waits to release her next album until 2010, she'll be forgotten ancient history and she may be Unforgiven by her fans if she lets that happen!!!
Fefe Dobson's Self Titled Album.......2006-12-29
First of all, I'm technically not a kid, I'm eighteen. I bought Fefe's CD at a discount because I had heard all her hits on the radio and enjoyed them. But when I listened to all the songs on the album, I liked her even more. She is a lot like Avril Lavigne in the dress sense, and sometimes her voice even sounds similar. Her lyrical content is similar too, but the style of music is different. There is a good mix of edginess and pop to this album - with even a little hip hop inserted in track number five. Sometimes her lyrics come out a little childish, such as "Stupid Little Love Song", but the sound is mainly what you need to listen to. Fefe has a great voice and all her songs display it well. Listen to track thirteen and listen to track one back to back and you hardly believe it is the same artist. All in all, this album is worth it to download or buy on discount. I recommend it for fans of Avril Lavigne, Michelle Branch, and Kelly Clarkson.
Nice Debut.......2006-07-31
I REALLY liked this album. It's something you can chill and dance to. She talks about an array of topics that really touch you.
1. Stupid Little Love Song- (3/5)- Funky little pop rock/song.
2. Bye Bye Boyfriend- (4/5)- I like the lyrics alot, very real. It's slow in the beginning and goes faster on the chorus.
3. Take Me Away- (4/5)- Good lyrics. Catchy. Alot of people go through this situation.
4. Everything- (3/5)- It's good. Don't really listen to it that much but...
5. Rock It Till You Drop It- (4/5)- I like the guy talking in the background! lol! It's a nice upbeat, danceable hip hop esque song with a rock edge.
6. Revolution Song- (5/5)- I love this song!!! The words are so true! "The words you use to hurt me now only seem to make me strong somehow." It made me cry.
7. Kiss Me Fool- (4/5)- I've gone through this situation before. It's a great song. I like the last part best.
8. Unforgiven- (4/5)- Something you can nod your head to. This song was really personal for FeFe.
9. We went for a Ride- (4/5)- Mellow lyrics, nice flow. I can sing along to it.
10. Give it Up- (3/5)- I don't know about this song. It's kinda weird but the lyrics are relatable.
11. Julia- (5/5)- I love this song!! It slow but very relatable lyrics about friendship. Julia kinda reminds me of myself, even though I'm not anorexic or anything. "And I swear I will help you I will, I will shine my light on you".
12. 8 x 10 - (5/5)- Really like this song. It's a "sign this document to prove your love" type of song. "And I'll show you love, cause we're all alone, Put business aside for life passes by, And I'll part your hair when it's in your eyes, Love".
13. Rainbow- (3.5/5)- I don't know about this song. Cool wispy vocals and nice lyrics. Shortest song on the album.
Overall, I think people who like pop/rock will like this album. Nice, refreshing debut. Can't wait for "Sunday Love"!
Good , refreshing album, for pop/rock fans... .......2006-07-29
This album is definitely one that will have pop/rock fans nodding their heads and vibing to Fefe's music. But, I will emphasize that this is an album for people that don't mind listening to pop.
While much of Fefe's music contains a rock feel to it, the album overall is rooted in a pop sound, of sorts. Though I will say this much for Fefe, she does stray away from the typical pop sound, and ventures into many different music types throughout the album. I will agree with another reviewer, Rosan, and say that this IS a refreshing, somewhat original album.
As mentioned, Fefe does explores some different genres on the album. Dobson has necks snapping on the hard-rock "Unforgiven"; then you'll have to pop her cd into your car stereo on the down-tempo "We Went For A Ride". A little hip-hop dancing will go great with "Rock It Til You Drop It". and check out the Broadway Showtune-esque hook on "Kiss Me Fool". These different takes on the typical pop sound earn Fefe the "refreshing" in the review title.
While she does explore these different sounds, make no mistake about it, many of her songs fall well short of spectacular. "Bye Bye Boyfriend", "Revolution Song", "Give It Up", "Julia", and "8 X 10" are all tracks that will have most listeners fast-forwarding to the next track.
And like many have said, Fefe's vocals are not very strong on the album. This is definitely a CD that is based on the instrumentals. "Take Me Away" and "Everything" are the only two tracks that really showcase Fefe's voice. From these two songs, Fefe definitely shows potential, she just needs to show more.
One more great thing about the album, Fefe and her producers are really able to make a cohesive sound while still managing to make each song sound different throughout. There is no track that feels out of place or unfocused. That is a definite plus.
Overall, a solid debut, with some solid hits, and some misses as well. Her second album, Sunday Love, should be something to watch out for.

What I heard about the album............2006-08-08
Hey everyone,
I've been reading all the posts for this CD and I'm just as exicited as everyone else. Sadly to say I went to my local Tower Records and they told me at Christmas time the CD will be out. Hopefully (like someone said) it comes out on September 20th! I saw on ebay that a promo CD that was an advanced copy and it went for $1009 NO LIE! My Jaw droped! As much as I want this CD I wouldn't pay that price, besides I was able to get an 8 track advanced copy which I'm satisfied with for only $1. But yeah, from the songs I heard I LOVE THEM! I can't wait till it comes out!
New release date according to MTV.com.......2006-08-05
According to MTV.com, the new release date is SEPT 20, 2006, and she's begun shooting the video for "Don't Let it Go to Your Head".
Here's what MTV has on its website on 7/26/6:

Meanwhile, she's set a September 20 release date for her second album, Sunday Love, which she recorded with a variety of producers and songwriters, including former Veruca Salt singer Nina Gordon, ex-Letters to Cleo singer Kay Hanley and former Marilyn Manson guitarist John5.

Take the Good With the Bad........2004-09-28
"Take Me Away" is a really good song! Great music, and even better lyrics. FeFe Dobson did well vocally. Her voice really suited the beat.
"Bye Bye Boyfriend", on the other hand, is a terrible song! The main chorus is her practically yelling "bye, bye, Boyfriend" with just as bad of music playing in the background. I occassionally make fun of this song.
So, it's up to you whether or not you want to buy this single. Personally, I'd rather buy her album, which has both these songs on it. Then, you can have other good songs besides "Take Me Away", and hopefully less bad songs.
2 1/2 Stars for Take Me Away.......2004-08-08
The only good song on this single is Take Me Away. Bye Bye Boyfriend is one of the worst songs ever. It should have been on Vh1's and Blender magazines 50 worst songs ever. Don't waste your time with Fefe's debut album either. It's a stinker!
Not bad..........2004-02-28
When I first heard "Take Me Away" on the radio, I happened to be driving in my car and stuck in traffic. Almost immediately, I loved the song, it's very catchy and easy to follow, and can definitely bring me out of any bad mood.
After listening to a few of her other songs and watching a few music videos, I'll have to say that she's not bad- Miss Dobson definitely has potential- but I'm a bit disappointed in her voice.
Not necessarily a negative factor on her musical career, but it seems a tad 'unoriginal' compared to other artists out there. However, I do admire her own unique persona she gives out, not afraid to have that 'teeny-bopper' echoes within her lyrics and yet, is a woman all of her own.
I'm looking forward to what the future may hold for her.
For more Fefe, you might want to listen to, "Bye Bye Boyfriend." Another song that's quite catchy.
oh boy.......2004-02-04
When I heard about fe fe dobson coming on to the music scene I wanted to like her. That is until I heard her songs. Man they suck. Too bad, she has potential. I hope to hear something else that makes me change my mind.
bye-bye pop princesses.......2004-01-15
finally, a tough girl who can rock!! i'm tired of seeing britney and all those other pop princesses who are just turning into trash, not to mention dressing like...well, you know what i mean. i'm so glad to see someone like fefe onto the scene, "take me away" is such an awesome song! if you are tired of hearing the same ol'pop stuff (if i hear "me against the music" on the radio one more time...) listen to this!!! fefe is one rocker chick who is true to herself, and i can't wait to hear more of her stuff!!!

Fefe sets herself apart... humph, up mine!.......2006-02-09
Quote: "...Fefe sets herself apart from all the other young pop stars who seem to be clones of eachother..." Yeah right!
That is the very thing Fefe is; A CLONE. She's a clone of Avril Lavinge who started the whole trend that Fefe COPIES.
But since everybody seems to love Fefe so much; except the other person's review below mine... I commend them, you think she would've done something about her ugly face (a nose job; have those sleepy eyes opened up so she'll look more awake etc...)
To close up I say this: "Don't go... DON'T go buy this album!
HaHaHaHaHaHa.......2005-09-07
So you're going to tell me that people actually like this song. When i saw this video for the first time I thought it was a joke. Fefe Dobson should never make music ever again. But they're are alot of singers that shouldn't make music. For what it's worth this song is ridculously catchy.
Her Full Album Is Better.......2005-04-18
Don't Go (Girls & Boys) is a good enough song, but isn't typical of Fefe's normal style. She should stick with the punk/rock stuff she was doing, because it was really working for her. However, this is a catchy song, and has a good message.
a refreshing change in todays bland young pop stars.......2005-03-22
Its so nice to hear a song that stands apart with amazing orginality like "Don't Go" does. This song was what introduced me to Fefe Dobson and I immediatly put her on my "watch for" list. I checked out her debut album and it is very solid and Fefe sets herself apart from all the other young pop stars who seem to be clones of eachother. If this song is what her next album might be like, I will not hesitate to buy that album.
The Only New Female Singer With Edge.......2004-10-04
There's been a crop of new faces in the world of women's pop music(Toby Lightman, Maria Mena, Sarah Hudson, Katy Rose, etc). Fefe is the only one who truly delivers. While others have built an entire CD around one or two exceptional songs, Fefe dares to explore a huge range of musical styles. If this song is any indication in the direction she is going musically, I will definitely be along for the ride. She should be respected for her bravery. How many other "pop stars" would consider singing lyrics like "boys and boys should be together" and "girls and girls can rule the world". Sweet!

I love this song.......2004-06-20
It is very mellow and has a Red hot Chilli Peppers vibe.
I Weep for Modern Music.......2004-06-18
One of the worst artists I've ever heard. "Stupid Little Love Song" is THE most abysmal song I've ever heard. This albumis pricey for only 4 tracks, 4 tracks which I would not accept if someone paid me. Stay away from this artist with very limited talent, buy a better cd. For the sake of music, please STAY AWAY!
