5 out of 5 stars Another Great CD.......2007-05-09

No matter what song your listening to, or matter the beat - This CD is truly good. I so cannot get enough of it. I listen to it at work with more B-Tribe on my Windows Media player and it is on all day long until I leave and then in my car it is playing as well. This music can really makes me feel like your making love someitmes, and would be perfect for a romantic evening, it makes my day nicer when hearing their music. I just love what they create no matter what. Now I need to get another one for a friend. B-Tribe Totally Rock's to me!!!

5 out of 5 stars A Spirit Voyage .......2007-05-06

Suave Suave, the album which introduced me to the magic B-Tribe - The Brave world, is trully masterpiece, which gives you so much positive emotions , ambitions, that you can't remain unintrested. One can forget about any sadness in theworld, whyle listening to Suave Suave. On the other hand the music doen's bring you surface joy. No. Everything is much more internal, sensual, spiritual, suave... suave....

A very phylosophic music. It brings fire and at the same time ambience - an eqilibrium.

Bravo, Claus "The Brave" Zundel!
Hablando Hablando.

5 out of 5 stars Mesmerizing - I'm hooked.......2007-03-04

This was the first B-Tribe album I ever heard. I also own, Sensual, Fiesta Fatal, & Spiritual.
I find Fiesta Fatal to be the most upbeat and danceable of this group.
Spirtual to be the most relaxing. This is the one that I play most for my massage clients.
Sensual & Suave are somewhere between.
My younger more eclectic massage clients really enjoy B-tribe during their sessions.

I'll get B-Tribe 5 soon.

4 out of 5 stars Poesia.......2005-08-11

When listening to the samples of the tracks on this cd, as soon as I heard the piano interlude at #6, I hit the add-to-cart button. Then I rec'd this cd a few days later and heard the fuller presentation of that instrumental with #10 called Poesia. A moving song, makes me think of happy and sad thoughts at the same time. The voice of the women reciting the poem in spanish, the piano play in between the verses, the warrior cry, and the violin that closed the song made this track incredible in its simplicity. Melodic and engaging at the same time. Slightly "American Beauty-ish." For this track alone I'm glad I found this cd. The rest of the tracks are just okay to me. Any recommendations for more music like track #10 would definitely be appreciated.

5 out of 5 stars THRILLING.......2005-07-13

That's all I can say---the music of B-tribe thrills my soul. The voice is out of this world, along with the guitar and lower end.

4 out of 5 stars "They call me Mr. Big, but NOT because of my SIZE!".......2007-07-30

In 1993, Eightball & MJG put Memphis on the hip hop map with their debut "Comin' Out Hard," which would inspire a generation of rap acts from their city and region. This album exerted a lot of influence over the 90s southern hip hop movement, from the lyrical subject matter to the production style to the glitzy album cover. "Comin' Out Hard" is pure and simple gangsta rap, and it's very well-done and entertaining. Eightball & MJG don't stray too far from the tried-and-true formula on the mic; they rap about crime, pimping, cars, women, and guns in a typical braggadocio style, but their style sets them apart from the myriad of gangsta rap imitators from this period. For one thing, they have some great flows, and their aggressive, quick deliveries are fun to listen to. And while they weren't yet as clever lyrically as they would be later on in their careers, they drop some great lines over the course of the album. The production has a great feel to it. Although the beats are very lo-fi, it provides a suitable backdrop for their tales. With raw drum patterns and rumbling bass, some scattered sampling and instrumental breaks, the production is entertaining without being overbearing. As Eightball & MJG's careers progressed and their Suave House label grew into a southern powerhouse, this album began to amass a legendary status, and while I think it may be just a tad overrated, it's definitely a great listen. There's no guest appearances, it's pure and unadulterated. Their raps are a little ordinary and redundant at times, but not too much to take away from the overall product too much. It's a little short at only eight songs, but the songs are all lengthy so it doesn't leave you gasping for more.

Following a very odd and slightly disturbing intro, the album begins with "9 Little Millimeta Boys." This song starts a little slow, but once the heavy horns, bass grooves, and slick flows kick in, this song's a winner. "The First Episode" is one of the weaker tracks on the album, but the production and rhymes are still solid. On "Armed Robbery," Ball and G tell some very entertaining tales of crime and getaway, over a beat inspired by "Mission Impossible." Pimping is the only matter at hand on the tellingly titled "Pimps," which has some slow and smooth production over almost seven minutes of running time. My favorite song is the title track, which has the nicest production on the disc. The funky, soulful chorus is excellent, and the rhymes are nice too. "Mr. Big" is simple but quite appealing, with a laidback feel and a great hook ("They call me Mr. Big, but not because of my size..."). The good "N...s Like Us" and "Pimps in the House" round out the tracklist.

Although some might tell you otherwise, "Comin' Out Hard" is not quite on the level of southern classics like Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, Soul Food, or Ridin' Dirty, but for those listeners who already own and love those albums, this is certainly one for your collection. This is entertaining, fun, and enjoyable gangsta rap with good performance and slick production. I recommend Eightball & MJG's "Comin' Out Hard."

5 out of 5 stars southern classic-no skips baby.......2007-06-28

this is the album that has inspired most of the new generation in the south.a flawless self produced album(8-ball and mjg did all the beats).this is eightball and mjg in their memphis pimpin, buck and gangsta walk elements.no holds barred lyrics excellent beats and very entertaining songs.the c.d has 9 tracks but with the length of each song it still works out to about an hour.evey true hip-hop head should have this album in their collection.see where three-six got some of their ideas and see where crunk comes from.you will also notice that they were masters of "soul samples" way before it became kanye west's"style".they were also pioneers with the album cover, being the first to use pen and ixel graphix.the cover is very symbolic because you really feel like you're a passenger as you listen to the c.d.my personal favorites:"armed robbery";"coming out hard";and "mr.big"

5 out of 5 stars Came out over 10 years ago and Still Hard!.......2007-06-17

I heard this cd when it first came out in 1993 and I picked it up on cassette. Since then cassettes have phased out but "The Fat Mack" and MJG have not. I'm here to pick this classic up and I'm gonna rock it like it just came out. Mr. Big is the best cut on here (in my opinion) backed up by PIMPS. If your from the south, or at least like this type of music, then it's a must to have in your collection. Happy shopping and don't pass this one up! NEOSOUL06

5 out of 5 stars The Title Is Self-Explanatory!.......2007-04-23

It is easy to see where the south got the crunk from; this album is it. Unfortunately, the sub-genre has gotten too much mainstream attention nowdays and has sold out. I like crunk from back then; the crunk out now rarely if at all impreses me. This may be the original crunk album. Listen to the beats, a mix of crunk, bounce, rattle and G-Funk often all in the same songs. Eightball and MJG kill the mic in each track with relentless flows. They rap with such a force and hunger; they are hard core here. "9 Little Millimeta Boys" and "The First Episode" are grimy and the beats rattle on with some dope medley samples. "Pimps" is smooth with a laidback G-Funk melody. "Comin Out Hard" has another soulful G-Funk beat and slick gangster flows by both with some background horns. The sound quality is low due to the album being older (from 1993), but the old Suave House team definitely brought the ruckus, and Eightball and MJG produced their own music here. Great old school beats and angry rhymes, albums are simply not made like this anymore. These guys are legends, and this is where it all started!

5 out of 5 stars Takes me back.......2007-04-06

I don't listen to this type of music anymore (I'm 30), but I loved it when I was 15 or 16 years old.

5 out of 5 stars Classic album from Ball & G.......2007-08-02

This is the 8th group album of theirs I own, and perhaps their best (close with "On Top of The World" and I don't own "Coming Out Hard" yet). Like most people tend to think, I also like their earlier works better, the ones on Suave house, they have that southern funk feel and sound to them, but don't get me wrong, their newer albums are good as well, the earlier ones were just great albums. This is a short one, only 11 songs, and each member has a solo. Of the 11 songs, 1 is a classic, 2 are almost classic, 2 are ok, the other 6 arer great songs. Guests are only on 2 songs rapping and 1 soing the hook. Production is great throught the whole album, not one wack beat on here. A must have album for fans of hip-hop.

5 out of 5 stars Memphis Duo Comes Hella Hard on This Jizoint.......2006-10-13

Ball and G came with nothin short of fire in 1994's classic On the Outside Looking In. The album is loaded with hard, political, trill, and fiery lyrics, so you know they comin' real. Beatwise, the songs for the most part are immaculate, with a mix of that syrupy southern twang and whiny G-Funk. They come bangin' on wax on "Lick Em Up Shot" with a menacing beat. I love the Issac Hayes sample on No Mercy, paired with an awesome whiny keyboard riff. Ideas of the black experience and racism is totally evident on the classic "So What U Sayin'" with a classic guitar riff and keyboard driven G-Funk beat. The title track touches on the "pen," the "system," or the "tank,"whichever you prefer, and the realities surrounding it, all over a sick, melodic beat. All in all, this album deserves classic status because of the top-notch lyrics and production.

5 out of 5 stars Classic Ball N' G.......2005-10-09

very differnt type of beats than on "Comin out Hard" & "On Top of the World"...Def. has much old School influence, but still the tight rhymes we can expect from Orange Mound's Best. My Fav tracks would have to be "Playa's nite out", "Crumbs 2 Brixx", "Anotha Day in the Hood", & "So what u Sayin'"...Although every track here is f***in' tight. Kinda hard to find this...so if u do, cop it!

4 out of 5 stars Inside Looking Out.......2005-07-03

Memphis, TN duo Eightball & MJG in their early years of the game dropped a second Suave House release On The Outside Looking In. "Lay It Down" featuring Thorough & Crime Boss is the highlight of this album to end it off on a memerable note. As MJG usually plays the background (since Eightball is constantly appearing as a featured guest) flexes his muscle on "Lick'em Up Shot". Both have solo songs on here, Eightball's "No Mercy" and MJG's title track. This, in comparison to their later work, is a lot funkier as they were still searching for a signature sound. The both are good with their descriptive tales of their lifestyles and past experiences, but Eightball is more the hustler and MJG is the pimp. Not the classic as On Top Of The World, but is still worth checking out the history of their careers.

5 out of 5 stars ANOTHER CLASSIC ALBUM BY THE DUO.......2001-04-15

Eightball & MJG's first album "Commin' Out Hard" was awesome. I didn't think they would be able to come out with an album even better. Well, they did. And this album - "On the Outside Lookin' In" is one of those rare albums that introduce us to something new, one of those albums that take rap to another level. And that's what this album is all about. The crew continues to lace us with nothing but straight game. Comming out of Orange Mound, Memphis, these two young rappers are some of the realest ones there is and some of the most talented as well. All over the album we get stories about street life, the rap industry, pimpin' or just having a good time. Eightball and MJG both have special voices and deliveries and you just cannot decide which one is better. Another thing that makes this album so unique is the production. It's amazing, on many parts is not just great beats - it's music! Complicated beats with a lot of instruments and changing melodies. They did a hell of a job there. That's a classic gangsta rap album.

The arrival of a new Anonymous 4 album has become as much a fall ritual as the turning of the leaves. However, there's nothing rote about their 12th album for Harmonia Mundi. All 17 selections are in honor of the Virgin Mary, ground familiar to fans of the ensemble's breakthrough first album, An English Ladymass (as well as 1998's Lammas Ladymass). Drawing upon both the Latin liturgy and chansons adapted from the French trouvère tradition of secular love songs, the combination of sources powerfully illustrates how strong devotion to Mary was in medieval France. But even more immediately striking is the New York-based vocal quartet's near-magical ability to enrapture their listeners. Whether they are coursing through a simply elegant monophonic chant such as "O maria o felix puerpera," a dazzlingly florid work like "Mater patris et filia," or the ethereal harmonies of "Mundum renovavit," their perfect intonation and pure tone are sublime. There's a special treat here, too--each of the ladies performs one piece solo. It's a chance to hear each singer's unique contribution to the group's inimitable sound: Marsha Genensky's exquisite smoothness, Susan Hellauer's dark-hued loveliness, Jacqueline Horner's creamy lightness, and Johanna Maria Rose's radiant resonance. It's a record that will transport you to another world, and yet one more star to add to Anonymous 4's constellation of celestially beautiful recordings. --Anastasia Tsioulcas

5 out of 5 stars Another masterpiece from Anonymous 4.......2003-02-16

For me what sets apart an Anonymous 4 recording, besides the wongerful singing is the presentation of a coherent program that only enhances the listening enjoyment. This disc contains anonymous chansons and conducti--with the exception of the "Beata viscera" of Perotin. These enchanting hymns and songs to the virgin Mary are vividly brought to life by the ensemble. I highly recommend this recording.

5 out of 5 stars The bewitching variety of Anonymous 4.......2002-10-23

The child-like simplicity beguiles the music's endless array of intricacies
and subtleties. The crisp phrasing, exquisite nuances, poingnant details of haunting beauty is heard throughout the disc. Perotin and Notre Dame over all, were lyrics of the first water.

4 out of 5 stars Nice Funky Album With Some Knock Fa Ya Block.......2007-06-14

Houston, Tx's Crime Boss' First album All In The Game came out in early 1995, by Suave Records, a quality record company in Texas with good rappers and phat production and beats. Eightball and MJG from Memphis were signed, so you understand why I say that. All In The Game is full from start to finish with that deep-fried, twangy southern Suave FONK! T-Mixx is a great producer!! The beats are great, and Crime Boss, an o.k. lyricist, has help from the Suave greats Eightball and MJG, and fellow labelmates South Circle. Lyrically, this is a typical gangsta album with hard lyrics, edged off with some fun '94-'95 style G-Funk tracks. A couple of the hooks are weak, though, on the album, but overall, the album is tight. My favorite jam is the laidback G-Funk jam "Big Chiefing," a perfect, sunny track to roll to with a nice melodic beat; there is a 2 minute RnB intro about loc'n up a sack of yay, and then the rapping starts. It is hella relaxing and fun to blare in the atereo. "Story Goes" is more of a crunk-inspired track with 8ball and MJG and CB trading killa verses. Another harder track is "Recognize," which is highly inspired by the G-Funk craze of the 90's. The beat seems to sample "Aqua Boogie," and employs a dope whiny synth in the hook. The hook vocals seem to interpolate the sampled song. I am not crazy about the hook vocals cuz they sound so generic, but to me that is a very minor issue cuz the beat is hella tight. Another hook I do not like is on "Put 'Em Up" which interpolates a P-Funk sample and again sounds generic and lame. The beat of the song, though, is once again, hot and funky. Another Mobb sounding track is "Going Off" featuring South Circle with a slappin hard mob style beat with twangy guitar riffs. One thing you'll notice is that 8ball and MJG are featured a lot here, perhaps a marketing ploy due to the duo being popular in the south at the time. I like them a lot so it is no issue to me! "Dreaming" is a neat woozy track with some high pitched, piercing synths. The beat is whiny and multi-layered and CB has a nice flow here. Overall, All In The Game is a dope effort with great beats. Crime Boss is not a great lyricist, but with the help of Ball n G, he drops a dope mid 90's album under one of the phattest label groups from the south.

This is the Best CD Crime Boss has done. There are some major bass beats on this album. The album has off the hook story telling songs that can really bring the hype. You don't get to much better than this. You can listen to this in your CD player without skipping a song. TRUE SOUTHERN SOUND!!

1 out of 5 stars Crime Boss is a disgrace to Suave House.......1999-07-13

This cd is maaad weak. The beats are wack, the lyrics are wack and C.B. is just swinging on Eightball and MJG'S fame to get his cd out. By this time this is an oldie but it is as bad today as the day it was released. I would sell mine if I could find anyone to take it.

    Album Description

Conjuring the aroma of jasmine, wafting on a warm southern breeze or moonlight on the sandy beach of a gently rippling ocean, these arrangements of well-known favorites evoke feelings subtle, sensual... suave. Supported by an ensemble including latin percussion, piano, sax, flute, sitar and fretless bass. Mr. Arizaga's impeccable fingerwork on the guitar greates a performance soulful and seductive. Reminiscent of a balmy summer evening.

This is a great album to enjoy a fire, good company and times. Excellent treatment of old standards with a teasing variation. You can listen to it over and over. Fantastic guitar work and very well implemented instrumentwise.

I've been listening to ya'll ever since coming out hard, and by every album gets better and smarter. The music stands out because all the instruments and backgroud music I hear. Its like a rap opra. And there lyrics are vivid and clear, unlike any other. Finnally one of the best music industry, like I knew it would be.

Great garage sound! Thee Headcoatees are an outlet for some of the prolific Billy Childish's (Thee Headcoats) overstuffed catalog of songs. These women really rock in a very fuzzy garage, and sometimes risque, way. "Davey Crockett" is almost poppy (as is it's Christmas version "Santa Claus"), while "Ballad of the Insolent Pup" just growls (yeah, pun intended). Recommended for fans of 60's garage music, punk, and just plain good rock.
