Awesome!.......2007-06-01
This is an awesome CD and brings you into worship. They are an anointed group.
Great music, great lyrics.......2007-03-31
This album is great not only musically, but the lyrics are powerful, too. Good, solid, uplifting Christian music.
Awesome CD.......2007-03-09
There are many people who don't like this CD because there is only two songs that Kutless actually wrote. That's true, but I have to say that Strong Tower is my favorite worship CD. Kutless adds a bit of edge to it. I love their rendition of each of the songs on this CD. Kutless has a way of making you feel the music, rather than just hear it. I prefer to feel than hear.
Strong Tower is also one of my favorite songs. They've done a wonderful job with that song. Once again they have taken something that I feel very often and made it into song. They are just a phenomenal band, and if you haven't already, I'd suggest checking them out.
Great Songs Poor Singing and Style........2007-02-24
I listened the Cd the sound is weak and milky. Jon Mich Smith needs singing education he is tone deaf. He sings some these songs he messed up he needs to listen to The Rock King Elvis . He needs to decrease the bass and electrical guitar and drums . He needs to improve his voice for a smooth Elvis Voice needs to have more better sounding instraments . Worship is not about rock it's about worship the lord beafuly he need's to improve . Don't buy the Hearts of the Innocent. He needs to dress nicer than that. He follows my opinion he will be on a higher list.
Praise that rocks!.......2007-01-10
Every song on this CD is awesome! I have it on my IPOD & rock to it @ the gym...& to think it's praise! I get pumped up & blessed @ the same time w/ this amazing album! My hubby & I think Kutless has really out done themselves w/ thier last 2 albums! Kutless is another band that gets better w/ every album!

Amazon.com essential recording
Stinging urban blues by way of Texas and Memphis distinguish Robert Cray's major-label debut, which followed three strong independent releases. Here he fleshes out his sound with bursts of brassy Southern soul courtesy of the Memphis Horns, but keeps his pungent, steely guitar solos out front in an engaging dialogue with his plaintive vocals. Released in 1986, Strong Persuader signaled that Cray, as a writer--like his contemporary Stevie Ray Vaughan--had something to say about his interior life beyond the usual bluesman's laments, an approach that pays homage to the music's rich traditions while suggesting new areas of inquiry. --David McGee
Customer Reviews:
LOVE IT.......2007-06-01
I love this CD. I had bought it on cassette years ago and used to listen to it non-stop. Then my cassette player broke and I didn't listen to it for years. Now I'm listening to it all over again. My favorites are "I Wonder" and "Right Next Door".
The quintessential Cray album.......2007-02-16
If you were able to buy just one Robert Cray album, this should be it. This was arguably the most commercially successful of his albums. I remember seeing the video for "Smoking Gun" on MTV as a teenager, and while I didn't know a thing about music (I thought Bon Jovi was the pinnacle of musicianship at that point in my life), that song stuck with me for years. I eventually added this CD to my collection, and that's probably where the evolution of my taste in music really began.
Robert Cray plays masterful blues guitar with an element of classical jazz fused into the music. His vocals are piercingly soulful, and the songs are fitting examples of what the Blues is all about. Songs like "I Guess I Showed Her," "Nothin' But A Woman" and "Fantasized" are up-tempo numbers that focus on a frequent blues topic... women and relationships. The counterpoint is provided by brooding slower songs like "Right Next Door" and "I Wonder" that wrench every bit of emotion possible out of the song. Anchoring it all is "Smoking Gun" which is more or less Cray's signature song.
I've had the pleasure of seeing Robert Cray perform live several times now, and it's always one of the best live experiences, especially if you can see him in a small, intimate venue. I've got a lot of his other CDs now, and they're all great, though his latest work takes a turn into the territory of political protest. I think, though, that this album embodies the purest essence of Robert Cray and his music, and would not hesitate to list this album among my top five favorite albums.
A little disappointing.......2006-11-03
I have to admit, I am not very familiar with his music, but I heard one of Robert Cray's songs a while back and loved it. However, this CD was a little disappointing. All of the songs sounded so similar that I got tired of listening. I'll probably pick and choose a few songs from the CD from now on rather than playing the whole thing.
Robert Cray's Smoking.......2006-08-03
Robert Cray is last in the line of great bluesman. He took the torch of BB King and Albert Collins and made something special. It is a rocking blend of stax, r&b, and memphis soul. There really is no one to compare it to, today. His singing is outrageously soulful and a throwback to Bobby Bland. His guitar playing is literally unparalleled, even with his relavtively short solos. There isn't much he can't say with one note, and white blues players simply pale in comparison.
Smoking Gun is an excellent album if you like a little soul with your blues and/or you are a student of blues guitar. I can almost gurantee you that there is no heir to the throne after Robert Cray.
fantastic breakthrough album.......2006-07-03
Very few albums truly merit a "5 star" rating (handed out on amazon.com like they're going out of style nonetheless, but I digress). However, in the genre of modern blues and soul this is certainly one album that deserves all the credit it has received. Every track here is catchy and will get your head bobbing - the melodies and grooves are that good. On top of that you have Cray's fantastic guitar tone and licks, as well as his strong, soulful voice. Not much here is new (after all this is the blues we're talking about) but Cray manages to make each song sound distinct and uniquely attractive. Blues purists may sneer, but music lovers who value good melody and passionate vocals will love it.

She does it again.......2007-01-29
An outstanding follow-up to her debut album, Learning How To Fly. Inga's voice is smooth and accurate while at the same time retaining a sense of intimacy and warmth.
Inga sings and swings.......2006-07-09
A great album of great songs. Inga sings with feeling and is ably supported by the Bill Peterson Trio. 'Black Crow' and 'Just in Time' are exceptional tracks, but then the whole album is superb. Excellent.

For Comin' on Strong, Adkins rejoins producer Scott Hendricks, who discovered the rangy Louisiana native in the '90s, signed him to a recording contract, and helmed his initial hits. On Chrome, Adkins's previous release, producer Dan Huff had taken him the predictable pop route--and scored a top five album--but apart from his perfect fit with blue-collar themes, Adkins never sounded completely at home with the album's gussied-up backgrounds. Now Hendricks brings him back to a rootsier sound and makes the most of his distinctive, deep-sea baritone, the likes of which country hasn't heard since Ed Bruce's early-'80s hits. "Missing You," which captures the loneliness of a oil driller far from home, is one of several tunes that show a new maturity and believability in the singer's material, just as "I'd Sure Hate to Break Down Here" and "One Nightstand" again prove Adkins's ability to convey vulnerability in an ultra-masculine fashion. Yet none of those tracks are likely to receive as much attention as "Hot Mama," a tune of middle-aged lust that's sure to keep Adkins popular with both polyester-clad Wal-Mart shoppers and jaded radio programmers, the real gatekeepers of any country singer's career. --Alanna Nash
Customer Reviews:
Comin' On Strong.......2007-02-07
That cocky smile he has that can melt a woman's heart is evident thru out the CD packaging and on the CD cover. You can almost hear it in some of the songs as you listen to the tracks. Two of Trace's latest hits are featured on the CD, Red Hot Mama, along with Rough & Ready. They are the first and last songs on the CD, but the songs in between are worth listening too also.
BIG COUNTRY MAN.......2007-02-01
Another great CD from Trace Adkins
His varied selection of songs and tempo has you want to listen again and again. An excellent CD.
Great CD.......2006-11-12
Trace Adkins is one of my most favorite artist. I havent seen him in concert yet but i am a fan club member and hope to see him in concert soon. In the meantime I have both of his music video dvds. I like every song on this CD. My favorite is HOT MAMA. The video HOT MAMA is really good also.
Comin' On Strong,.......2005-12-07
is Not the Best Trace Adkins cd i have heard. It has only a couple of songs that i really like. they Are Hot Mama & Rough & Ready all & all the rest of the cd stinks.

Comin' On Strong Does Just That!.......2004-12-12
Trace Adkins never ceases to amaze me. Each album gets better and better and Comin' on Strong is no exception! This album is steamy and is an excellent representation of Trace's vocal ability and traditional interpretation of country music. There is not one song that is not up to snuff and this is sure to become a favorite of hardcore Trace fans, as well as those who may be discovering him for the first time.

Super Strong God is GREAT!.......2007-05-12
My kids at our christian school totally got into this!
A Children's Ministry or Mom "Must".......2007-01-18
We use this music and DVD in our children's ministry, which has a few hundred K-6th grade kids in it. Even our preschoolers love the music and motions. I still like the little songs we all learned, like "This Little Light of Mine", but these guys provide an amazing example of how children can worship God with all their little hearts too. I love the song "Super Strong God". Even though we are leading the kids in worship, I can easily close my eyes and relate to the song. Their choice of words in these songs take it down to their level without turning it into sing-songy Barney songs (although sometimes their commentary between songs can sound a little Barney like, even with those cool Australian accents, but it does hold the kids' attention!). We also sing "Rainbow" often. This age kid is sometimes self conscious to all this, worshiping God like the teenagers and grown-ups do. The DVD shows "cool" teenagers (nobody is wearing a tie or look "churchy") leading worship, and the room is full of kids their age singing and worshiping too. They also have really good kid dancers on the stage. I just can't say enough about the quality of the production of this CD/DVD. Even if you don't care for the DVD, these are songs you won't mind hearing when the kids are yelling "Again, mama. Again!" in the minivan!
awesome worship cd for kids and parents.......2006-10-24
My sister recommended this cd for my kids because her kids love it so much, and I'm so glad she did! My kids already know all the words and we love to hear them singing in the backseat of the car "One way, Jesus, you're the only one that I could live for". The whole cd is so sincere and sweet. I think it's a must have for every family. The music is catchy and the kid love it!
Great for Vacation Bible School.......2006-04-26
I bought the dvd and am now purchasing the cd. The songs are great for active kids. You need to also buy the dvd to experience the live worship and learn the motions to the songs.

Strong Arm of the Law.......2007-07-24
This is my favorite SAXON Lp/Cd ever released by the band
This is Saxon at their finest and they were strong here, They still are in 2007, however this era has a special place in my heart as this LP was one of the earliest lp's that really played NWOBHM at its finest
Its a must buy for any hard rock fan
Classic Rock.......2007-05-15
Great album. If you don't know Saxon at this time, then why are you here? For me, this album and 'Wheels of Steel' are it. This is what I call European metal. Its raw, edgy, and just some sweet rock and roll. Pass the bowl.

Another hit! It's extended w/ a more acoustic feel. Theres a mellow solo leading to Strong Bad getting into it. Beautiful!

It's all talking. As soon as the song gets started, the tape literally dies. But it's funny how after the tape dies, it goes right into death metal in a second, even though I don't think that was their intention.
Moving Very Slowly:
by: Taranchula: 8/10:
First of all, I HATE death metal, but for some reason I'mattracted to it. Maybe its the awesome solo...
Sweet Cuppin' Cakes Theme Song:
by: The Cast of Sweet Cuppin' Cakes: 7/10:
Another dud. It's WAY too off beat. It would be alright if it was kinda off beat, but they just tried too hard.
I Think I Have a Chance With This Guy:
by: What's-Her-Face: 5/10:
Yet another dud. The song is just What's-Her-Face saying "I think I have a chance with this guy" over and over again to a crummy dance beat.
It Was Like It was meant to Be:
by: Strong Bad: 9/10:
Nobody else I know likes this song as much as I do, but I think it's pretty nice and mellow. Reminds me of Journey vaguely.
Nite Mamas:
by: Limozeen: 9/10
Not the best by Limozeen. The drumming and beat is kinda off. Also the verse is kinda mediocre. BUT it's got a great chorus and solo, so the good outweighs the bad
Sensitive to Bees:
by: Marzipan feat. Strong Bad & Homestar Runner: 9/10
without Strong Bad and Homestar, the song is still pretty good. but WITH Strong Bad's funny commentary and Homestar's blatant unawareness of what's going on, it becomes way better
You've Got an Ugly and Stupid Butt:
by: Strong Bad: 8/10
What's there to say? The beginning is fulla R&B and the end is fulla salsa. It's pretty funny.
These Peoples Try to Fade Me:
by: Coach Z: 9/10
HILARIOUS! Coach Z trying to rap is HILARIOUS!!!!
The Ladies in the Town All know my Name:
by: Strong Bad: 8/10
Even though it's wicked short, it's still got a psychedelic feel and a reference to Brianrietta
Theme from Dangeresque II
by: Strong Bad: 8/10
Very spy-like! Funny lyrics. good beat (celebrity pharmacist?)
Somebody Told Me (Now I Believe Them)
by: Strong Bad: 9/10
The best "Strong Bad Sings"-derived song here. This song is set to a blugrass rhythm, and I'm not a bluegrass fan either. But it's just so funny and strangely attractive...
The Cheat is Not Dead:
by: Strong Bad feat. Strong Sad and Strong Mad: 10/10
Definitely one of the best here! extended, Great tune. Hilarious lyrics. a choir?, and an upbeat gospel ending.
Everybody to the Limit (Live at West Reykjavik)
by: Strong Bad: 10/10
WAY better than the studio version. It's got extended lyrics and a synth's accompaniment (is that a word?!)
Secret Song
by: Homestar Runner: 10/10
I can't tell you. It's a secret!

THIS CD IS SO FUNNY!!.......2006-02-27
any fan of homestarrunner.com should definetaly buy this. Others... stay clear, if you don't know the characters and storys you won't be able to apprecitate it and find it very very annoying. Now back to the good stuff, listen to it the whole way through and you'll find yourself laughing. Hard. I love the secret track with homestar singing 'secret song'. You'll find 'The system is down' from the 'techno' email. At the end he starts coughing and says 'sorry i really can't keep that up for very long... ummm... roll the tape back I wanna do more of those doobiedoobiedoos' lol. You have to buy this if you are a fan... period.

Old but not Forgotten.......2005-03-28
Well this is arguably the best collective work from Miles.
There are a number of very moving ballads...e.g. touch, is it time for a kiss? who can I turn to etc: but the track that sets this artist apart and amongst the elite is : Only love can break your heart.
This song should find it's way into anyone's all time top 10, if songs with the ability to move your spirit to distraction form part of your judgement criteria.
Miles delivers with such heart rending vocal performance, that it becomes a truly emotive experience. It is not recommended for people who have recently experienced heart-break, there is every danger that you could drown in your own tears.

Album Description
Night Of Your Return is one of Fernando Ortega's most personal and authentic albums of his career. When Fernando's inspiring original melodies are joined with the thought-provoking lyrics of Elaine Rubenstein, it results in a listening experience that truly touches the heart. In what has become Fernando's own award winning style, his soothing voice is beautifully augmented with a nine-foot Steinway grand piano, strings, Celtic harp, mandolin, occasional acoustic and electric guitar plus other wonderful textures! This is one of Fernando's BEST!

The best Christian CD I've ever found.......2007-05-09
Learn the lyrics of track 1, then sing them to the Lord from a pure heart while listening - you'll NEVER be the same!
I'm tearing up as I type this.
I buy this CD in lots of 5 and 10 at a time any more because I always end up giving them away to people I want to bless.
This CD such a rich blessing! In my opinion even unbelievers could come to faith by listening to track 1.
And yes, the entire CD is awesome too.
Enlivens the Soul.......2005-11-25
Fernando Ortega brings yet another thoughtful work of worshipful evocative music! Night of Your Return is perfect for relaxing with a great inspirational book (my recommendation would be Brennan Manning's "The Ragamuffin Gospel: Good News for the Bedraggled, Beat-Up, and Burnt Out) and a delicious cup of coffee. As with other Fernando Ortega projects Celtic harps, mandolins, acoustic and electric guitars bring a glorious sound for your listening pleasure. Get this CD, get everything Fernando Ortega does! Songs include:
My Song Is Love Unknown; Praise To The Lord, The Almighty; Night Of Your Return; Mi Abuelito; Chimayo; Jesus, Lover Of My Soul; Here Is Love; Road Song; Stricken, Smitten And Afflicted; This Is My Father's World; Green Pastures
My Favorite Artist, My Favorite CD.......2003-01-12
Fernando Ortega's Night of your return is so full of insight, beauty, poetry and Jesus. Just the title makes me feel good.
Fernando Ortega mixes songs about loved ones lost with songs about his most beloved Jesus Christ. Please buy this CD, close the door, turn down the light, disconnect the phone and enjoy. A most wonderful collection of songs it will surely become one of your favorites too!
