These guys made great ballads.......2004-02-27

My goodness, some music from the 80's did not age well. Ready for the World is guilty on several charges. 15 years later, their uptempo chart hits like "Digital Display" and "Mary Goes Round" sound absolutely ridiculous.

That aside, Ready for the World fared much better when they did what they do best: Ballads. "Tonight" is magnificent, this is a slow jam if there ever was one! These guys harmonize, the beats, albeit SLOW beats, are funky and fit the mood correctly. Same thing with "Love You Down" and "Deep Inside Your Love". My suggestion: buy it for the slow jams, dim the lights, and enjoy...

I've loved this group since I was a little girl (had a HUGE crush on Melvin Riley!)! 'Digital Display' was my favorite song of theirs for a looong time. 'Straight Down to Business' was the last good dance track I liked. I met the guys in '92-they were sweethearts! Wish that I could get my hands on their videos, though...

I've always been a fan of ready for the world. Every time I get a chance to listen to their music on the radio. Sometimes I would get in the mood (if you know what I mean lol) They need to have a reunion or something. Much love to ya.

Amazing songs. Nothing real "deep". But what was in the 80s? A lot of fun for sure, this is what you pull out for a soundtrack when you're woman is over =] LONG TIME COMING has several songs not included on this album that should have been. Noone writes a slow love song like Ready for the World.

My top 10 fave artists are from the "rock" genre.. but number one stands RFTW.
