I do not know what word I would describe about this song but really loves this song. The remake from Mariah gaves really something new. Like phoenix resurect from ashes! Very beautiful! Plus you will get extra track such as Miss you featuring Jadakiss, Bringin' on the heartbreak (Live version) and Video. This cd is really hard to find and very rare. I just believe if you find it somewhere it would be very expensive. It took me 2 years and over to find this cd and I have paid around $130 but thank god feels worth it.

Yes, it is a remake; and is that a crime? It's still a great song & FYI the original was on Def Leppard's "High N Dry" album, NOT "Pyromania".

People need to get their head examined. This is a song by Def Leppard off the Pyromania album in the mid 80's. The song is supposed to be bold and exploding with emotion. Not whispered like you want to keep your Mommy from hearing it. Do a favor and get The Rock Of Ages greatest hits CD by Def Leppard or Pyromania and hear how it should be sung...with soul.

"Bringin' On The Heartbreak", is my fave of all Mariah's songs. When I bought her album "Charmbracelet", I knew it was the standout all throughout the album, almost the last track and it's filthy great. The song is so mysterious and haunting with a very interesting video in which she plays a gypsy and fits her well. It is a revival, and it's even better than the original. I don't have the single but have heard all the tracks in the single and fell in love with it. Not a big fan of Carey, but this song tells my personality... gypsy... gypsy... the song rocks!!! get it!

I cannot even put into words how stunning this song is. It is my absolute favourite on her Charmbracelet album and I feel one of her best songs up to date. When most people talk about Charmbracelet they always mention Bringing On The Heartbreak and there is a good reason for it.
Produced by Mariah herself and Randy Jackson this stunning rock ballad is amazing. Mariah's voice is out of this world on this track and the "whispering" that people complain so much about is gone on this track Mariah simply belts out a good quality song.
Bringing On The Heartbreak sounds very dramatic with the roaring guitars slowly building up to heart wrenching finale. Don't think that it will be like her previous ballads this track is one of a kind that I doubt even Mariah will ever top.
This CD also contains Miss You. Featuring Jadakiss and produced by Mariah and Jermaine Dupri it is an excellent RnB track also available on her remix album. While it is no where as good as her other RnB songs it is worth a listen especially if you are a fan of Honey/Heartbreaker.
Bringing On The Heartbreak is a single you should add to your collection EVEN if you don't like Mariah as this is unlike anything Mariah has done before.

I must confess that I didn't hear the original version, but...why can't all these people see the song for what it is? It's a REMAKE and it is, in a certain way, a way to admire an artist or song. Nobody is trying to compare Mariah and Def Leppard. But, as a admire of Mariah's work I think this is a great song and deserves more attention. Mariah has an incredible voice- in my opinion- the greatest voice in the world. And all these people running their mouth about this version are just jelous that she could make the song reach more popularity. And I would DIE to see the face of this stupid criature that said ''Mariah is finished!''.

Jay Halliwell, you suck because the original version of BOTH is awesome and is much better than this one. Jeremy Whitman & Michael J Brister you suck becase this version is a great interpretation of the song, BTW Michael, the original version was on "High N Dry", not "Pyromania".

ok, these people running their mouth about this version are probably those strict rock music lovers that like trashing everything else. mariah carey has the greatest voice in the world, and her remake of brinin on the heartbreak is flawless. i have heard the original and it makes me wanna puke. this is clearly one of mariah's best remakes, and one of my favorite songs by her. look online for a live performance of this song on a mtv UK show, and you will see what good vocals are. not that 'cat being squeezed' sound that def leopard makes while singing this song: that is not emotion, that is bad voice.

Bringin' on the Heartbreak is actually off of Def Leppard's "High 'n' Dry" album which was released in 1981 and again in 1984 with additional songs in the US.

I'm curious to hear Mariah Carey's version of this. I used to be a big Def Leppard fan! Since I haven't heard it yet and I must give it a rating before I can submit my comments, I'll rate it an average 3 stars.

I have never heard something this ear-grating in my life, a subdued, outrageously boring and overlong remake of a terrific 80's song (one of my favorites) that is performed with none of the feel the original had. It is obvious that Carey's carrer is in jeopardy, and apparently the execs who hold the checks over her head have opted to hop on the nostalgic bandwagon to cash in on radio kids' inabilities to recognize good art. "Miss You" is almost impossible to sit through. Total pop trash for people who wouldn't mind spending their allowance money on a sippy-cup coaster, which I'm sure this single will become within the next month or so.
