Buy this CD while you still can as it contains two of Teddy's best yet mostly-forgotten albums.The 1981-issued "It's Time For Love" contains some of Teddy's smoothest soul ballads with "She's Over Me", "Nine Times Out Of Ten" and the title track being simply unmissable. On the other hand, the 1982-released "This One's For You" was the first of two studio albums consisting of previously unreleased tracks that Philadelphia International issued after Teddy's near-fatal car accident. This 2-CD set brings you two fine Teddy Pendergrass albums at a very good price- buy it now!

Album Description

Teddy Pendergrass was so prolific during his time with Philly International Records in the late `70s and early `80s that there was an abundance of unreleased recordings left in the vaults. Pendergrass' near-fatal 1982 car accident kept him out of the studio for a few years, but, in the meantime, PIR issued these two albums of previously unreleased material. Each album is loaded with enough love and smooth grooves to keep the R&B and pop purists happy for a long time to come. Both of these albums are currently unavailable in the U.S. Edsel. 2005.

I bought this CD for one song and it was worth every penny

The two albums on this CD remain among Teddy's most underappreciated solo recordings but no serious Pendergrass fan should be without them. Why? Both contain some classic TP tracks that should have been major hits and are fine examples of his TP at his soulful best. My only guess about their having been unreleased prior to his near-fatal accident is that they weren't up to the level of the material issued on his first four studio LPs. Revisit them...and love them.

    This CD contains the "Teddy" and "This One's For You" albums. The former LP featured the huge hits "Come Go With Me", "Turn Off The Lights" and "Do Me".
