Classic Cameo From '81.......2006-07-05

Following 'Cameosis' & 'Feel Me' (BOTH released during 1980!!), Cameo released the classic 'Knights Of The Sound Table' in 1981, with the hit 'Freaky Dancing' all over the airwaves! Whatever you heard about this CD is true, and you owe it to yourself to add a copy to your collection. No SERIOUS Cameo collection would be complete without 'Knights Of The Sound Table'. It's THAT GOOD! I decided to remaster my original 'Knights..' CD, and add 'Alligator Woman' (1982) onto the disc (with 'Style' as a BONUS TRACK!!). Having BOTH 'Knights...' & 'Alligator Woman' on the SAME CD is AWESOME, and I can't believe Polygram has yet to do it officially (W.T.F.???). Oh well, I have the 2 on 1 CD!! LOL

I am a huge Cameo fan. I purchased this album whe first hit the records stores. I was in the sixth grade at the time, but this album sounds even better now that I have matured as a musician. Larry Blackmon is an unsung hero in the music biz!! One question! What ever happpen to real music?

This album is UNBELIEVABLE!!!
I love every single song! It's one of their best albums, together with 'Cameosis' and 'Alligator Woman'.
I think 'The Sound Table' is one of the best instrumental song I've ever heard...
If you love Funk and Cameo sound, you MUST have it!

Certainly some of their absolute best work! I am amazed "Knights By Night" and "I Like It" are not on some the greatest hits compilations that are out there. Somebody out there doesn't know what they're doing!

This and any pre-1984 Cameo material are among the best the group ever put out. Don't get me wrong - "She's Strange", "Word Up", et al were good stuff, too, but the first Cameo cuts were the better grooves. The Tom Tom 84 (EWF, Phil Collins) horn arrangements in "Knights by Nights" & "The Sound Table" from this CD make me nod my head in awe every time I hear them. This kind of music needs to make a comeback!!!
