Bobby O is a Bobby Dazzler..........2006-07-19
Classic HI-NRG tracks from Divine, Flirts and the man himself Bobby O.Bit disapointed in the Whisper To A Scream Mix,but otherwise are realmust have for HI-NRG fans.In the words of Oh Romeo...These Memories...
Volume 2 Is Better, But This Ain't Bad.......2004-04-08
Volume 2 of this collection is much better. I'm only a fan of seven songs on this CD. All the songs are standard Bobby Orlando and a lot of fun, but "The Best of Bobby O" would be a better choice.
I've been loving "Sensitive" for almost 20 years now and I'm very please to have it along with "Desire", "Passion", "Native Love" (even though it has a free style beat), "I'm So Hot For You", "Danger", and "Love Reaction" in my collection. If you recognize the all the songs on this CD I say, go for it! But if you only recognize the club hits then look for them on other collections.
Hi-NRG Classics.......2003-06-22
I feel personally that Volume 2 was the best, only because the songs played out better then Volume One does. Here's the song by song play :
01) Roni Griffith - "Desire" (1981) : 12 Inch version here, Hi-NRG/Eurodisco classic, we love you Roni!!!!! (10/10)
02) The Flirts - "Passion" (1982) : EP version (5 minute version) here, gotta love the throbbing bass line on this one. The 12 Inch can be found on the "The Definitive "O" Records 12" Collection". (10/10)
03) Divine - "Native Love" (Remix) : This is not the original 1981 12 Inch Version, this one has more of a breakdance feel too it. The 12 Inch can be found on "The Definitive "O" Records 12" Collection". (8/10)
04) Barbie & The Kens - "Just A Gigolo" (1982) : Single Version, total "Private Idaho" rip off song, this is the odd one of the disc, too New Wave. The 12 Inch can be found on "The Definitive "O" Records 12" Collection". (8/10)
05) Bobby O' - "I'm So Hot For You" (1982) : 45 Version, the 12 Inch version is on the Best Of Bobby O'. (10/10)
06) Free Enterprise - "Make It On My Own" (1982) : 45 Version, Another odd one, trying to rip off R&B/Urban music and some flat out embarrassing rapping on this one. "Hello sweet momma, i'm going through a trama, how's bout' a little ramma?", Bobby what were you thinking? (00/10)
07) Bobby O' & Claudja Barry - "Whisper To A Scream" : 12 Inch Version here, classic classic classic! We love you Claudja!!!!! The EP version is on the Best Of Bobby O'. (10/10)
08) The Flirts - "Danger" - 12 Inch version here, but not the original, this version sounds more like a demo version. (5/10)
09) Oh Romeo - "These Memories" (1983) : 12 Inch Version, classic Hi-NRG. (10/10)
10) Divine - "Love Reaction" (1983) : 45 Version, total "Blue Monday" rip-off and not much singing from the Misssssssss Divine, but i can't help it, I love it! The 12 Inch can be found on "The Best Of Divine-Native Love". (9/10)
11) Gomez Presley - "The Letter" (1982) : 45 Version, the same guy who sang "Make It On My Own", sings this one but does a great job on this one, the bassline is bangin' on this one. Who would of thought Elvis gone Hi-NRG? The 12 Inch can be found on "The Definitive "O" Records 12" Collection". (10/10)
12) Hotline - "Ready Or Not" (1986) : 45 Version, Total "Two Of Hearts" by Stacy Q rip off here. (00/10)
13) Band Of South - "Sensitive" : 45 Version, campy lyrics, campy song period, classic! (10/10)
14) The Flirts - "You & Me" (1987) : 12 Inch Version, the end was near for "O" Records, Bobby O' was using the Stock, Aitken & Waterman sound which was the in-thing through out the late 80's and early 90's. In other words, Hi-NRG/Freestyle/and other 80's Disco became House Music. (9/10)
"The Definitive "O" Records 12" Collection" is a 2 CD set with 28 tracks from the "O" Records vault.
ANOTHER JAMMIN BOBBY.......2002-01-25
I FELT OBLIGATED TO PURCHASE THIS CD BECAUSE I AM A BIG BOBBY "O" FAN , AND BECAUSE I JUST LOVE HI-NRG MUSIC. WHEN I FINALLY GOT THIS CD I WAS VERY EXCITED THAT THIS CD INCLUDED THE ORIGINAL EXTENDED VERSIONS FOR THE ALL THE TRACKS. THIS CD IS PACKED WITH CLASSIC 80'S HI-NRG. THIS IS ANOTHER CD THAT MUST BE PURCHASED TO COMPLETE THE BOBBY "O" COLLECTION.

Customer Reviews:
This is the best UBL music CD set I've gotten so far.......2005-01-03
This had some of my favorite songs on here such as Red Alert and Get Get Down. There were many other excellent songs on here, so if you like dance/house/trance/club music I highly recommend this. It was the first CD I got mixed by DJ Strobe, and I was very impressed. It would be great if there could be a Best Of Club Classics 2, as one of the other reviewers said. I can't wait to check out more DJ Strobe CDs.
This stinks.......2004-04-28
What is everyone raving about ? This cd is whack..Dj who ? Strobe light ? Old titles, the mixing is alright but nothin special. People writing phony reviews=I m selling mine on ebay after I burn it if any wants it/ tomallen@aol.com
Will There Be A Club Classics 2?.......2004-04-24
I'm a mix CD junkie, and this CD was a good fix. I hope there will be another in the series mixed by the same DJ.
Worth The Money.......2004-04-24
Just got the CD today and listened to it, Mr. Strobe did a fine job here. You wont find the usual mixes here. The mix between Sandy B and SM Traxx is sweet. I was pleasently suprised to hear some creative mixing and production along the lines of the NYC Underground series. I'd definately like to check out some more mixes from this guy.

Camp Value Only Goes So Far.......2006-12-21
When it comes to electronica and house, it's not that hard for an album to strike a chord with some segment of the population. There are more than a few different species of rave music, and although it means critics can sometimes get bogged down in semantics (do we call this hard house? progressive? deep? industrial? techno? trance? digital box pop? blah blah blah), it also means, on the plus side, that there's usually something out there for all kinds of HouseHeads.
Ignoring the touchy subject of definitions, there's one thing that can definitively be said about this album: it's not very good. In fact, it's pretty bad.
So-called "newbies," seeking an introduction into or an argument for club music, will not be seduced or persuaded by this hasty conglomeration of petty and pretentious songs. The album labels itself as "Progressive House," which is a smug enough title as it is; then you have songs that, in deep bass, urge you to "Shhh...be quiet. Listen!" or that holler, self-righteously, "In the beginning, there was house music ... and from this groove came the groove of all grooves ... and then one day some DJs declared, 'Let this house be progressive!'" Give me a break.
There are some old standards on this record (emphasis on the "old"), so an argument could be made for it as some sort of record of house antiquity (if such a thing is even necessary). Darude's "Sandstorm" was once a club staple (and still calls up nostalgia among older ravers), Da Hool's "Meet Her At The Love Parade" is a song that will probably sound familiar to almost anyone -- it was once "progressive," I guess, but it's now the formula a DJ follows when s/he's run out of ideas. The same could be said for the Vengaboys and their "Up And Down," a song that plays like it was bought from a vending machine.
Any one of these songs might survive in a club, played alone, and sandwiched between songs of higher skill. They have their place just as much as, say, the B-52's "Love Shack" or Ace of Bass's "Don't Turn Around." They are novelties, once popular, good now as something to snicker at and even nod your head, too. But an entire album of them only makes you realize how incredibly trite and grating they really are, and shows you just how far the genre has come in such a short amount of time. House, this music may be, the Best, it most certainly is not.
This is not House, more like RAVe/Techno/Trance.......2006-08-11
The Best of House... hmmm after listening to samples I wouldn't call it house. Sounds more like RAVE music which is heavy. House is smooth and groovy. This music is hot and heavy. House makes me sway my hips, this music makes me want to jump up and down. For a good house compilation, check out Do you know house? Volume One by Dance Tracks (2001).
Not to say the cd is bad, only mislabeled. Four songs stuck out for me. Sandstorm by Darude is an absolute Rave classic. Then there is Do It Again, and Stomp to my beat. And then there is the mainstream Vengaboys Up and Down. My friend used to call their music Cheese. Vengaboys are in the same class as Effifel 65. Their music can be good for Chuck E Cheese celebration but can be annoying sometimes.
This music is a cousin of Happy Hardcore but definitely isn't house.
A Good Place to Start.......2005-12-11
Best of House vol. 1 was one of the first cds I bought as a "newbie." The collection of tracks is nothing spectacular. Then again, it's not bad either, but it is a good place to start for those of you newly introduced to electronica. Clearly, the person that claimed Best of House, "has no true value as a music CD," should not have bought a CD that was INTENDED for "newbies;" given the fact, he or she does not sound like one. But for those of you who ARE, I definitely recommend this one.
Very Good, recommended.......2004-09-27
I got this CD from my friend after I told him that I like house music, and I really liked it. Well, I was pretty nice giving this 5 stars. I think it really could have used a song like Paul Johnson's "Get Get Down" or "The Bomb" by the Bucketheads instead of songs that I don't like and had never even heard of such as "The Final Chapter" or "Sssst...Listen be quiet". If you like this, you'll probably like Best of House 2 also.
Good for a listen........2004-03-27
My friend gave me this CD, and I've enjoyed it. I'm not much into any type of house/trance/rave/techno/syntho-whatever music so I didn't know if I'd really enjoy it, but I like it. Looking at some of the other reviews, it's probably not your best choice if you're a hardcore House music fan, but then, if you're hardcore, you probably shouldn't be listening to compilation CDs anyway ;-)
This is a good CD to put on when you're doing something, but I'm just not into this music for the sake of listening to, except track number 2, Castles in the Sky. All in all, if you can get this from a friend, do it, but I wouldn't jump out to buy it unless you had extra money.

BEYOND AMAZING!!!.......2006-05-25
I WHOLE HEARTEDLY AND FIRMLY BELIEVE THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST TRANCE ALBUM'S OF ALL TIME! IT HAS BEEN IN MY TOP 5 FAV'S SINCE 1999 AND I NEVER TIRE OF LISTENING TO IT! I WILL SAY THAT THE COMMUNICATIONS SONG IS NOT SO GREAT, AS YES, IT IS A LONG SONG OF TELEPHONE RINGING, BUT OTHER THAN THAT EVERY SINLE TRACK IS AMAZING. THE MOST AMAZING TRANCE TRACK EVER, FLOWER DUET REMIX 99 WILL MAKE THE HAIR ON THE BACK OF YOUR NECK STAND UP! ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING AND MOVING PEICES EVER EVER EVER!!! I HAVE PURCHASED THIS CD PROBABLY 10 TIMES AFTER HAVING IT STOLEN/LOST BECAUSE I SIMPLY CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IT! A MUST HAVE FOR EVERY TRANCE LOVER!
Don't Pay attention to what others say... THIS ALBUM IS EXCELLENT........2005-08-27
A bit of Everything. This album is great. If you like trance this is it... Starting from the FIRST song to the end of the album..it creeps in and sucks you up into the rhythem and mood of this whole
*blissful* album...it just FLOWS... This is a must own... It's been a while since I had listened to this album since it was lost... thank God amazon had it..i been searching for it for a while now... I am going to buy it again without a doubt. Although this album does bring back a wave of memories one thing i can assure you..it's well worth it. It gets you into the feel of the EMOTION behind trance music.. songs like it's a beautiful day.. i love it when it feels this way..be prepared for a relaxing ESCAPE... Listen to it with an open mind.. it will relax you.. like i said in the begining, the very first song to the last...will be played in your ears and mind just like a beautiful story book with a perfect ending... go figure why the first song on this CD is called "Children." It is your responsibility to re access that inner child and come into contact with your innerself... this CD was like meditation to me...and I hope you get the chance to own a copy for this was the first CD album that had me and not only I loving trance music...
God bless.
An excellent pop trance album.......2005-07-30
I lost this album and had to go buy it again--its amazing. More of dance than trance, however. Completely classic line up: ATB, Ayla, Faithless and Robert Miles. The only tracks I wasn't personally thrilled with were "He's All I want" and "Flower Duet 99," but they aren't bad, depending on your taste. I'd recommend this album to fans of dance or trance but especially ATB as every song on here is catchy, melodic, and perfect for summer.
hmmm.........2005-05-27
i bought this one and i just don't love it.
the good tracks were:
children(robert miles)
it's a fine day(miss jane)
ayla part 2(ayla)
flower duet '99(jonathan peters)
rain(brainbug) [not the GREATEST, but it was good.]
the BAD tracks were:
insomnia(faithless) [AWFUL VOICE]
communication(mario piu) [NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR 7 MINUTES OF TELEPHONES RINGING.. I MEAN COMMON!!!]
beautiful day(hypertrophy) [MALE VOCALS GONE WRONG]
and all of the rest were kinda iffy. if you were in the mood, and too tired to change the song you'd just listen to them. otherwise you'd probably change it. and a few of them aren't EVEN trance.. thank god i bought Volume 2 first. because if i would've bought this one first.. i don't think i would've gone back to "BEST OF TRANCE." it's a shame.
It's okay..........2005-01-03
Okay, Now I need to change my review again... Originally, I was torn between giving this 2 stars or 3 stars, but oh well, I gave it 2. I did not like many tracks on this disc, however I really liked the songs Beautiful Day and Communication, and a few others are okay also. If you must have this, get it used. I also got Vol 2, it's way better than this. I don't really think this is worth the price.

What is House Music: This Compilation!!.......2004-12-31
First off I must admit that I am already at an advantage with this album because I have 5 of the tracks on vinyl (You Used To Hold Me, Can't Get Enough, Fantasize Me, Move Your Body and Jack Your Body). So I already knew half the album when I bought it! This album features predominantly Chicago artists which gave a big lift to the Chicago Scene, since the album was released on a major label. With this album's release the rest of the nation could now see what the House Music fuss was all about. If you happen to be curious just buy the album and you will see...
Classic!!.......2004-01-22
If you are ever privlaged to get this CD you'll travel through a time when House was House! Before KTU, before Dance and Disco Dance and Jungle and Techno.A time when there was only NY and Chicago, and both fought long and hard to bring the best and to BE the best in house music! This CD (1 in 5 volumes) has what without a doubt is the House Music Anthem Marshall Jefferson's - "Move Your Body" the song that made Todd Terry look for "Party People" which led to the ultimate House Music Question "Can You Party" (Avalible on vol.2) which led to the Jungle Brothers "I'll House You" and so on and so on! Before C&C Music Fatcory told you there were "Gonna Make Sweat" Robert C livlés and David C ole were Two Puerto Ricans A Blackman And A Dominican and told us to "Do It Properly" a song with a baseline that to this day still can make anybody want to get up and move! All in all this CD is worth getting, but whats worth more is the box set. going from "Do It Properly" to "Work It To The Bone" (vol.2) or listening to "Move Your Body" then "Can You Party" and going to volume 3 and hearing "I'll House You" takes you on a journey inimanginable! To make it short this CD is worth it! 5******

Awesome beats to groove to!.......2006-12-11
Ironically this CD contained almost all of my favorite tracks that came out of my internet radio. I was pleasantly surprised. These songs are hard core... however, if you enjoy closing your eyes, and moving to the beats, feeling the music... I absolutely get lost in many of these songs. The lengths are good for me, in that I enjoy variety... I like a change in style frequently... to a certain extent.
more radio edits from Robbins...........2005-04-02
Robbins is one of the leading names in dance music. But, just like their Best of Dance, Trance, and Divas series, this one includes mostly 3-4 minute radio edits with just one or two full length mixes. I actually LIKE that the songs are not segued together, but i think it would be better if Robbins released compilations with maybe a few less tracks, but with all the long versions. Also, note that this is really TRIBAL stuff, and not much in the way of vocals, if that's what you're looking for. So, anyway, the longest versions you get this time around are:
Elements (Danny Tenaglia) (7:36) (album version, not the 12")
Feel This (Robbie Rivera) (7:51)
Gia (DJ Gregory remix) (7:47)
Drums Control (Richie Santana) (8:20)
that's it. the rest are short versions.
ummm good cd....and stuff.......2003-12-28
This cd is amazing. picked it up by accident at tower today and normally that's a disaster but this time i was lucky. only buy if you like hardcore club music...the kind you'd hear at soundfactory where they'd have the professional bongo player...i love that. definitly a dance cd/workout/jamming out in your vehicle cd. only downfall is the songs aren't mixed together, but they all go together so it don't matter so much

INCREDIBLE.......1999-08-19
This CD is a mix of only some of the best from this notorious 80's label. It is awesome and brings you right back to the good ole days. And the best part is that some of it is still contemporary! If you like house, you gotta get this one!
