4 out of 5 stars A Must for Keith Sweat fans.......2007-02-20

This album is a must-have for Keith Sweat fans! Unless you've bought his other albums when they were originally released, there's no reason to buy any of his other albums if you have this one. Just about all of his popular tracks are on this album, aside from a few of his obscure hits. "Make It Last Forever" is a favorite for anyone that enjoys slow jams from the old school days, and "I Want Her" should bring back memories of the late '80's high school dances. This album also has "A Right And A Wrong Way" and "How Deep Is Your Love", which were a couple of his really popular slow jams. No Keith Sweat fan should be without this one in his/her collection, and the album contains enough tracks to keep the CD going for more than just a short drive.

5 out of 5 stars New Jack Swing Loathrio At His Best.......2006-12-29

Keith Sweat is one of the premeire R&B soul singers in the game. Although Mr. Sweat hasn't released a CD of new material in four years, I'm really anxious to see what he could do with the writing skills of Ne-Yo, Sean Garret, Johnta Austin and the production of The Underdogs. The Best of Keith Sweat: Make You Sweat compiles most of the tracks that made R&B crooner Keith Sweat one of the most popular and influential of the '90s new jack swingers. Along with Teddy Riley, Tony! Toni! Toné!, and Bell Biv Devoe, Sweat defined the forward-looking but history-mindful new jack sound that combined old-school aesthetics with hip-hop rhythms. Culled from all five of his consecutive number one R&B albums, the tracks here include such ubiquitous radio hits as "I Want Her" and "Make You Sweat" along with stellar singles including "Nobody" and solid album cuts like "My Body.

5 out of 5 stars HALL OF FAME.......2006-11-07

This superb collection will show you why Keith Sweat should be a ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Hall of Fame Songwriter and should be a Grammy-winning record producer, but he's not. Even with over 13 million albums sold (including LSG and Silk's debut). He has worked with a variety of producers from Alton "Wookie" Stewart to Bobby Wooten to Hall of Famer Teddy Riley to Lionel Job (Joe Public) and the one constant is his success, hit after hit, year after year the hits keep on coming. His style never changed. It never needed to. He knows what his fans expect and he knows how to give it to them in spades. This man may be the most underrated soul singer of all time outside of Jackie Wilson. I can say that because Al Green, Teddy Pendergrass, Curtis Mayfield, Barry White, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson, Ronald Isley, even El Debarge, Brian McKnight, R. Kelly, and Babyface they all get the props they deserve, but when will Keith Sweat be known as the Hall Of Fame Soul Artist that he is? Maybe when he surpasses 15 million CD's sold. Which won't be that long.

1 out of 5 stars This isn't what I had hoped for........2006-08-12

I bought this c.d. because I like the song "Nobody" and it was the only good song on here. I read other reviews about how good this c.d. is and it is actually a waste but that is okay. There is only about 2 songs on there worth listening to so if you plan to buy it, I suggest you listen to the samples first. -heather-

3 out of 5 stars Yikes!!!.......2007-07-02

This disc started off very rough, Keith vocals were horrible on "I Want Her", I had to do a double take to make sure that it was actually Keith Singing, but he they manage to get somewhat better as the disc goes on. I guess his voice had to warm up? Charlie Wilson sounds fantastic on "Let's Chill" This CD brings back a lot of memories, classic Keith, but honestly, The studio version of his greatest hits is a better buy.

3 out of 5 stars A mixed bag........2007-06-15

Keith has finally returned to the scene with a new label, new management and a new record. Was it worth the wait? Well, let's just say he's headed in the right direction after some misses albums.
The songs on "Hotel" are fairly good and very well-produced.
He brings back the magic of some of the most memorable music recorded in R&B history to this new live CD.
He has always been a producer's artist, so he needs direction in the studio to get a solid performance with his vocals. That's here, but there is no great single that makes her shine and really gets him back out there.
He sounds enthusiastic, but has too much help in the background, which sometimes drowns out his vocals.
Keith needs a pop hit to get back on top. Let's hope the next album delivers a hit.
Close....but no cigar.
Personnel include: Keith Sweat (vocals); Mashanda Favors Huskey, Rahbi Hines, Kristi White, Lewis Hill, Antoine Tatum, Calandra Glenn (vocals); Adam Ledgister, Dave Evans (keyboards); Andre Harris (bass instrument); Randy Hutchinson (drums). Additional personnel: Jackie McGhee, Johnny Kemp, Akon, Kut Klose, Monica, Silk, Athena Cage, Teddy Riley, Charlie Wilson (vocals).

Good CD. Bring back some of the old school songs that puts women in that mood.

5 out of 5 stars Keith Sweat's second strongest album.......2006-12-29

Keith Sweat returned with a veganance with his 1996 self titled album. The album along with New Edition's Home Again showed that New Jack Swing artists could easily adjust to the changing sound of nineties. The singles from the album Twisted, Nobody,Just A Touch and Come With Me were all top notch and can still fill a dance floor. Some of the stronger songs on the CD that could have been singles were Yumi and Chocolate Girl. If you don't have this album you need to add it to your collection.

5 out of 5 stars OLD MEMORIES ALBUM.......2006-09-08

I don't think there is an album out there that brings back old memories for me like this one. I turn on the first song and I swear it's '96 again and I'm back in Knoxville TN with my family. Nothin but classics.

5 out of 5 stars SLOW JAM GRIND AND HOT HUMPIN' JAMS.......2006-07-24

This album brings me back to a party where i met this pussycat and she winked at me and i came over and said "Hey baby, you got me all twisted like a big ol glazed donut".
She said "well then how bout unloadin some of that sweet stuff on me".
Well Keith Sweat was playin in the background and that made me run to my room and put on my big pimp suit with my jumbo feather pimp hat.
I strutted my slick self back in the room and said "Keith Sweat thinks he's mr. big well get a load of this!!!!!!!".
She dropped her jaw and i swept her off her feet.
You know the rest playas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, Keith Sweat's self titled album is chock full of booty shakin and butt naked jams that are so good that this mutha works better than an overdose of viagra!!!!!!!!
"Nobody" is slow and slinky and gets the ladies all hot and bothered and ready for action.
"Twisted" automatically makes the ladies rip off their clothes and go stark raving mad screaming "give me some!!!!!!!".
I tell ya every song on here is a bonafide slow jam butter meltin lace poppin groove fest.
So click on that purchase button and get ready for a night of hot lovin' that will leave you cooked to a golden crisp!!!!!!
I call this album "Coma Love sandwich!!!!"
Get down with your bad self!!!!!!!!!!

When I first heard "I Want Her" from this 1987 recording, I dropped what I was doing and ran to a record store. The single is the prototype for what Teddy Riley, who did the drum and keyboard programming on the song, would call "New Jack Swing." It has hip-hop's rhythmic chatter and R&B's fierce uptempo drive. Although Riley contributes to most of the songs on this disc, Sweat has a different direction in mind. He aspires to be--and with future releases became--the king of the slow jam. His warm, deep tenor and his intelligently crafted songs set the standard for the pre-Maxwellian loverman. --Martin Johnson

5 out of 5 stars Make It Last Forever.........and ever.......2007-05-25

I am not the biggest Keith Sweat fan but this is by far the best LP he put out. Standout songs include "Right and a Wrong Way", "How Deep is Your Love", "I Want Her", "In the Rain" and the title track. This a New Jack Swing classic by perhaps the genre's best singer.

5 out of 5 stars Excllent Debut That Has Yet To Be Topped.......2006-12-29

As a DJ my favorite type of music hands down in New Jack Swing. In the years from 1987-1888 it seemed that every New Jack Swing CD that was released was A-1 and was the type of disc you could put in and let ride out to the last song. Produced by Teddy Riley, Keith Sweat's debut, Make It Last Forever, exploded all over urban and pop stations and remains the brightest star in Sweat's galaxy of LPs. Sweat's pleading, whining tenor adroitly draws you into every song, demanding an emotional commitment. Who can't relate to "Something Just Ain't Right" and "Right and a Wrong Way," two tense, stunning realizations. The hip-hop beats and plucky guitar of "I Want Her" put new jack swing on the map; it was Sweat's first single release and can still pack a dance floor. All eight tracks are impressive, with his rendition of Tony Hester's "In the Rain," popularized by the Dramatics, equaling and possibly surpassing the original.

5 out of 5 stars Keith Sweat got it right the first time, best album!.......2006-06-25

The whole album is butter. A lot of babies were probably made off of this. The difference between Make it last Forever and the rest of Keith career is that he macking on this album. The rest of his career he resorted to straight begging to get the cooch. Personal favorites are every song for real. This is an R&B slow jam standard.

5 out of 5 stars Takes me back!!!.......2006-04-19

I purchased this CD from a seller man2godforever last Friday and it came today like promised, thanks man2godforever, I'm listening to it right now on my computer, sounds really good.

5 out of 5 stars I wish Make It Last Forever, would last forever @}->---.......2006-03-18

Make It Last Forever is probably my second favourite R 'n B song ever (after My My My). It is such a beautiful song and so is this entire album. I've been a fan of Keith's from the beginning and I still go back to this. I Want Her is probably the next best cut on the album, but in reality - it's all good. This is the King of New Jack and nobody does it better than Keith. Make It Last Forever should be in every r'n b fan's collection. I had to go and re-buy this on cd because the cassette I had was wearing thin because after each time Make It Last Forever finished, I'd keep winding it back. I highly recommend this cd. Amazing.

2 out of 5 stars Not As Strong As The First or His Latter Work Just Aight.......2006-12-29

As a fan I felt that Keith Sweat suffered a huge sophmore slump with his I'll Give All My Love to You disc. The fast club orienated tracks just weren't as strong this time around and there were only two slow jams;I'll Give All My Love To You and Merry Go Round that impressed me. Sweat came back hard on his thrid CD Keep It Comin but this is the one Sweat CD that I gets little roation in my CD player.

5 out of 5 stars NICE SOPHMORE ALBUM!!!!!.......2004-09-20

I LIKE THIS ALBUM. IT SEEMS LIKE JUST YESTERDAY THAT THIS ALBUM HAD CAME OUT. I LIKE KEITH SWEAT'S MUSIC BUT THIS IS ANOTHER MUST HAVE ALBUM BY KEITH SWEAT I PERSONALLY LIKE KEITH HE IS A GREAT ARTIST AND DEFINITELY LAYS IT DOWN. MY FAVORITES ON HERE ARE MERRY GO ROUND, I'LL GIVE ALL MY LOVING TO YOU, JUST ONE OF THOSE THINGS, AND I KNEW THAT YOU WERE CHEATING ON ME. I LIKE THIS WHOLE ALBUM IT IS A MUST HAVE FOR ANY KEITH SWEAT FAN.

5 out of 5 stars GREAT ALBUM.......2004-03-14

I got this tape along with Make It Last Forever for my tenth birthday. I love every song on this album (especially Your Love, Pt. 2, Knew You Were Cheating, and Make you Sweat). I also like the remixes (which are not on this tape) of Your Love, Merry Go Round, and extended Make You Sweat. Where are these remixes??

5 out of 5 stars I'll Give All My Love to You- 1990.......2002-12-29

Unlike Make it Last Forever, Keith Sweat tested a new sound for this album that paid off big time for that year. What made this album stand out from any off his other work is the extended sense off emotion in this album. This isn't his best outing but it is the best in the 90s.

This CD of course is good. I am a huge Keith Sweat fan. Love his songs.

5 out of 5 stars Another decent Sweat CD.......2006-12-29

After scoring massive success with his first two albums, Make It Last Forever and I'll Give All My Love to You, Keith Sweat's third album, Keep It Comin', signaled something of a creative and commercial slump for the new jack pioneer, which continued through 1994's Get Up on It. However, Get Up on It is not a bad album by any means. In fact, the set is classic Keith Sweat, filled to the brim with the pleading ballads that made this Harlem crooner so popular. Sweat began to utilize female background vocals, courtesy of Kut Klose, to full effect on this album, especially on the hit title track (one of the album's shining moments), a trend that he perfected on his huge 1996 self-titled comeback album. So Get Up on It finds Sweat in a stage of transition, leaving the formula that began to grow stale on Keep It Comin' and beginning to feature female backing vocals at center stage, somewhat similar to what Barry White and Luther Vandross had done before him. Get Up on It churned out two other singles, the up-tempo yet slightly unimaginative "How Do You Like It?" (which, as the set's lead single, didn't really work to catapult the album to massive early sales) and the big ballad "When I Give My Love," which is pure Keith Sweat. Other standouts include "Put Your Loving Through the Test," featuring the late Roger Troutman, and "Telephone Love." For fans of classic Keith Sweat, R&B ballads, and mid-tempo grooves, this album will do.

5 out of 5 stars Positions.......2006-09-30

Triple threat, Keith Sweat; step up his game with his fourth release Get Up On It. This album begins with "Interlude (How Do You Like It?)" simply ask the question followed by "What make you feel good, baby?" that he seem to give the listeners. "How Do You Like It? (Part 1 & 2)" featuring Left Eye for this feel good tune and the remix which features a never ending bass line throughout. The titles seem to add to the opening interlude as "It Gets Better" gets even better. This song is a highlight for this album with it memorable bass and Keith's strong lyrical skills, production and yes, evens the whining. The title track featuring Kut Klose steals the spotlight with the slow grinding track and the dimension added by the ladies is quite inviting. Again, to complete the feeling, "Feels So Good" is an up-beat track with rougher elements to broaden his range as well as "Intermission Break". "My Whole World" latches perfectly to continue the flow of the album with great ease. Sweat's strength lie with his sense of mood setting and it becomes apparent on "Grind On You" to "When I Give My Love". "When I Give My Love" contains sexual connotations with lyrics such as "...in and out, out and in..." which is all that need to be said. "Put Your Lovin' Through The Test" featuring Roger Troutman is a perfect collaboration as the two combine for the one, two punch. After the interlude to "Telephone Love" you're invited to "Come Into My Bedroom". The titles define the mood, action and even the goal for the evening. This LP concludes with "For You (You Got Everything)" with the lights still dim and the night creeps to a near halt. Keith Sweat set the mood, said the words for you and serenaded the woman. It seems as if he did most of the work for you, but there's only one thing he left out for you to handle. This may be the hard part.

4 out of 5 stars Keith Sweat- Get Up On It (1994, Elektra).......2002-09-05

1994 was a very good year for me and for music. "Get Up On It" is an album that is almost remarkable. This whole album is congenial with excellent songs like "How Do You Like It", "Feels So Good", "Grind On You" & "When I Give My Love To You". Keith really did a good job in this album.

4 out of 5 stars Clearly Underestimated This Album!!!!.......2002-06-06

I always thought "Get Up On It", Keith Sweat's fourth album as underrated from his other albums, but since I bought the album about three weeks ago I think I have clearly underestimated this album.

The slow songs on this album is arguably his best material! "It Gets Better", "Get Up On It", and "Grind On You" are my three favorites from this album. But Keith, take it from me, STICK TO THE SLOW SONGS!!!

3 out of 5 stars Just As Good As The First Two.......2006-12-29

Many music critics and fans felt that with Keep It Comin, that Mr. Sweat didn't leave up to the promise shown on his first two CD'S. In one aspect the up-tempo material wasn't as strong but the ballads including the I Want To Love You Down,There You Go Tellin Me No Again, and Give Me What I Want are all very good. The two up-tempo singles released from the album Why Me Baby and the self-titled track were also very good.

2 out of 5 stars Mostly boring.......2005-09-11

This album is so boring in most places. I don't know where Keith Sweat's head was at. It doesn't keep your attention on the second half. Keep it Comin' was okay, but the other songs Keith produced as well as Joe Public were lousy. He was smart to include There You Go from New Jack City, but the songs before and after it are so bland, It seemed like the formula that worked for Keith Sweat's first two albums didn't work here. I fell to sleep while hearing the album's second half--how can anyone create such dull songs on here? Sweat's trademark whining just does not blend with these songs. If he had wanted to, he would have given these songs to Usher instead of singing them himself--they'd be better under him(Usher). But I warn you, don't get this album--it's going to let you down!

2 out of 5 stars Comin' With a 2.5!.......2005-04-10

Keith Sweat's 1991 release didn't come off as the usual or other releases of his. For starters, Keith is mostly known for his bumping slow jams and he didn't let us down with the ones on here. As a matter of fact, that was the only thing that kept this one from being a total disaster. Once getting to track 6 with "I Want To Love You Down" the lp quickly prepares you for the whining and begging that makes him so popular. It couldn't have got any better with "Give Me What I Want" featuring Silk on background and taking the song to the next level of sexiness. Silk and Mr. Sweat invites you with "The Ten Commandments Of Love" with the background vocals saying, "...come on, come on, come on, come on baby...". Maybe this release would have been better if it was an entire Keith Sweat & Silk release.

5 out of 5 stars Keith Sweat at his best.......2005-03-31

Most people say that this is Keith Seat's weakest effort (not including the material he released after "Still In The Game" in 1998). Maybe it's the memories I combine with these songs, but I just love all of them (and believe it or not, also the fast songs are great). My favorites are "Going For Mine(s)", "Love you Down" and of course "There You Go". This CD is great! Buy it, only 2 left in stock!

The title of Keith Sweat's sixth album (seventh, if you count LSG, his collaboration with Gerald Levert and Johnny Gill) might seem like a protest against encroaching commercial irrelevance--if not for the fact that Sweat has stayed a platinum seller for more than a decade. Still in the Game hews close to his proven subjects of love and sex at mid and slow tempos, with cameos by Snoop Dogg, Erick Sermon, Too Short, and Playa fitting into the Jeep-ready production surprisingly well. --Rickey Wright

Of course Keith Sweat music sounds good. I love just about all of his CDs.

4 out of 5 stars Sweat Is Still Delivering The Goods.......2006-12-29

After delivering his excllent self titled disc two years prior , Keith Sweat returned with Still in the Game. Sweat is still capable of making decent records a decade into his career. He knows the secret of a good slow-groove album: seduction on the most intimate of levels and this is apparent on the tracks In Your Eyes,Rumors and Can We Make Love. Sweat also throws a cool sexuality in his grooves and moves. And on the opening "Come and Get with Me," Sweat (with a little help from Snoop Dogg) spins R&B hip-hop into a wondrous orbit.

3 out of 5 stars Keith Sweat- Still in the Game (1998, Elektra).......2002-09-05

After his self-entitled album, Keith made another above-average album with some very memorable songs with the likes of "Bring it On", "Rumors", "What Goes Around" & especially the memorable "Just Another Day". After 1998 & 1999, those were the final good years left in R&B music. Now, there's not much great or original to look forward to in that area of music. Like Keith's other albums before this, it's worth having or checking out.

4 out of 5 stars Almost as good as "Keith Sweat".......2001-11-08

(...) I like this Cd BUT! It is not as good as "Get Up" and K.S. I must confess I listen mostly to Rock (Metallica, GnR, Classic Rock) but for dates with my girlfriend this (stuff) works!
The smoothest love melodies and best of everything- production songwriting are all the best. (...)

As sure as the sun is gonna rise in the morning and you're gonna be owing money come April 15, Keith Sweat is gonna be begging for love. Lord have mercy! No one can moan, cajole, and just flat-out whine for some nookie like our man Mr. Sweat. Love him, hate him, or simply ignore him, Sweat has been an R&B mainstay since the '80s. Sure, most of his stuff sounds basically the same (give or take the obvious stylistic tweaking necessary in the cutthroat pop realm), and Keith's never hit the heights he achieved on his still-solid 1987 debut Make It Last Forever (though "Twisted", a hit a few years back, came damn close), but one doesn't go to Sweat for innovation and trendiness. He's reliable. And, as it should be, the Crown Prince of Neediness is back down on bended knee on Didn't See Me Coming. At this stage in the game you either dig Sweat or ya don't, and this CD is sure to keep the faithful happy and sell through the roof. Featuring spots from Busta Rhymes, Dave Hollister, Lil' Mo (the smooth midtempo ballad "I'll Trade (a Million Bucks"), and Rah Digga, Keith works his wounded Romeo riff with his usual adenoidal appeal. Case in point, the edgy duet with T-Boz, "He Say She Say," which has Keith musing "tell me why you have no trust in me, when I go out at night you're always paging me." Girl! Come on! A man this desperate ain't cheating! --Amy Linden

5 out of 5 stars I love it - he hasn't lost it @}->---.......2006-10-31

After an excellent intro (like a radio dial being turned and each 'station' is playing an old song of Keiths like Make It Last Forever, Twisted, Your Body etc), comes Things which is a great funky and upbeat song. I also love the smooth and mellow Whatcha Like and the cool Real Man.
I see that other people think he's lost his touch, but I don't hear that. To me, this is on par with his earlier work. I'm playing it on my iPod all the time. Sure he is talented enough to not have to collaborate, but this is the same quality of music and vocals that I've come to love over the years. I still believe in him and love his sound and hopefully his other true fans will too. I love this cd and hope you enjoy it too.

3 out of 5 stars Keith, you're slipping..........2002-08-22

I see that not many people reviewed this album; maybe it's because they don't own it. After dropping the LSG and his self-titled album, his next albums were a step down each, including this one.

First off, Sweat is better at slow jams, so all of the uptempo jams on this album are filler. Also, what's up with all the guest rappers, especially Lil Wayne, of all people, on "Why You Treat Me So Cold"? Sweat's trying to fit in with the younger audience, complete with trendy lyrics and slangified titles (see "I Put U On", even though Rodney Jerkins' piano-driven production is pretty tight). See, he has the same problem as Mary J. Blige and R. Kelly. Over a decade in the game and he is still kicking the same stuff that appealed to his now grown-up fans in hopes to gain some new ones. The fans grew up, but he hasn't.

The good songs on this album are "Caught Up", "Don't Have Me" (with Dave Hollister and profane lyrics), and "Games", and yes, they are slow ballads. But even the slow ballads on this album lack the appeal that "Make It Last Forever" and "Yumi" had. Speaking of which, the first single, "I'll Trade (A Million Bucks)" with Lil' Mo, talks about finding someone who can look past their superstar status and fall in love with them as a person, making it a song that hardly anyone can relate to.

I didn't buy Keith's new album, Rebirth, yet, but I don't know if I want to: his first track, "One on One", is dependent on an Isley Bros. sample. Maybe Keith should just retire.

5 out of 5 stars Smooth R&B from the king keeps us sweating.......2001-08-01

Sure, this isn't a pure album in musical terms..it's a bit of R&B, a bit of Rap, and with a touch of Hip-Hop..but it's refreshing to have variety..and refreshing to receive a work from an artist who's not lost his unique and captive edge in the years he has been in the game. Yes, Keith is definitely still in the game. Please keep it coming Keith...respect!! But Keith, "I'll trade a million bucks for someone's love who don't come with a price"..Bit of a contradiction ain't it?!! Hey we still love ya though ;)

This Cd was almost judged by its cover....the ole beggar Keith we have known for ages now. But this Cd features smooth laid back track with several featuring artist that keep you busy. By keeping the mood right and just chilling. Play it from begining to end. But you'll never...Never hit skip or FFWD. Promise! R Kelly talented yes...consistent NO. I have to admit R Kelly had some nice tracks ...undressing himself on one track ...fiesta Ricky Martin type stuff on another... nice commercial song I Wish and you've sold a million albums.

2 out of 5 stars Standard Keith Sweat.......2006-12-29

On his Rebirth CD released in 2002 Keith Sweat was a comeback, however because he's been putting out records consistently since the late '80s, and it's not really a creative reawakening since he hasn't changed anything about his game. In the end, Rebirth is really just another Keith Sweat album with promisng ballads. One would have thought that Mr. Sweat would linked up with some new young talent at the time to give him a fresh sound, espically on the up-tempo but the ballads are really the only thing that save this CD. The first single One on One is very good as is Wonderful Thang, but everything is kind of by the numbers.

4 out of 5 stars Listen Again.......2006-10-01

Cmon guys, we are talking about keith Sweat here. The guy is a legend and although i agree he is so much better suited singing ballads, there are some great ballads on this album. One on one for example. I could play this song over and over again. Makes my body melt. And Wonderful Thang. Quite possibly one of Keith Sweats best ever songs. Please listen to these two tracks again and reconsider your opinion of Keith Sweat and what he is today. Keith isnt about lyrics, he's about sound. This album was a big deal for keith. Hence the name Rebirth. Im sure he put a lot of work into this album and i hope you havent written him off just yet. I will forever be a keith sweat fan and regardless of who comes along in the future, I have no hesitation in saying that Keith Sweat will always be my number 1 favourite artist.

2 out of 5 stars hope sweat takes note of these reviews.......2005-06-27

I must agree with the negative reviews of this album, together with the assessment of Keith Sweat's recent music. Obviously Make It Last Forever is a classic album with a unique sound and it cannot be replicated. With his subsequent 4 albums inclusive of Twisted, Keith Sweat defined a style of music and this is what the fans have come to love and expect. Sweat consistently produced excellent albums with only a few tracks I would leave off a playlist. The reverse is true with the last 3 albums: there are only a few tracks I would include in a playlist. I agree with the assessment that he has tried to cross over to a more hip hop influenced style which does not make the most of his voice, and leaves a hole in the Urban market which he used to fill. I was just listening to Get Up On It from his 4th album and was remembering how I looked forward to his new releases, but not now. These days it's not cool to be soul artist and the record companies just want to make money off all the idiots who buy music for the lifestyle that it is shown to represent in the media. I'm not optimistic about any comeback, but you never know. Bottom line: forget last 3 albums, buy first 5.

2 out of 5 stars So Sad.......2005-05-26

I am or should I say was a Keith fanatic but plain and simple, Keith makes the mistakes as many artist do; he forgets about the audience that he came in with. Obviously he is focusing on the younger listeners with his latest three albums. I was very disappointed with this entire CD. The songs were not well thought out and the writting for these songs suck. Keith, two words, Come Back.

3 out of 5 stars Everyone is right - Keith stick to Ballards.......2003-10-04

Although I like fast tracks such as "ladies night" and "gots ta have it" these tracks do not bring out the best of Keith. The rebirth in my opinion, starts at no.7.

"one on one", "show me" (the best on the album), "in and out", "can it be" are all Hot ballards.
(Ain't got a clue why some people don't like "can it be". One of my favourite tracks on the album.)

Anyway, the album is worth the purchase, but only for the ballards .
