I grew up listening to this album every Christmas and it was well worth getting ahold of this CD once more, after not hearing the music for over 13 years. I LOVE IT.

This is an excellent CD that you will enjoy over and over and over again. I know I have. It is even better than the original LP album because it has so much more to offer. Buy it and you won't be sorry that you did. This is especially for us disco and SalSoul Orchestra fans. So sit right back and enjoy the memories. That's if you can sit, unless you are in the mood for dancing.

As a kid in Brooklyn NY my family would listen to this "album" while putting up the Christmas Tree. What memories this brought back, for those of you that remember the original its a bit different but nothing that has stopped me from listening to it over and over again. For those of you who haven't listened to it yet, get a tradition started! It's Great!

WOW! "CUCHI-CUCHI" IS A GIFT FROM THE LORD!! In my born days I've never known Charo to disappoint. Her magic-streak continues with this roller disco-licious love letter to fun, and "Cuchi-Cuchi." The title track will send you into a spasm of hip shimmying glee -- think the Lido deck, with Isaac at the bar; Julie Mc Coy as your cruise director, and April Lopez stowing away in a laundry basket -- better yet, think Cher at Flipper's Roller Disco, as seen in Rona Barrett's "Hollywood," circa '78. Buy this disc for the title track alone and you will live a few years longer. "Cuchi-Cuchi" is such a stress-relieving slice of yesteryear's Latin magic. Ole', Ole'!! If you don't love this record, you have zero sense of humor and a hatred of puppies and sunshine. Charo is a Latin Wizard! Que puedo decir de este album? Absolutamente un clasico de la disco. "Cuchi-Cuchi" tiene todo el sonido de Salsoul y la orquestacion resulta realmente increible. El album, en si, tiene un sonido mas dirigido hacia el pop, las unicas excepciones son la clasica "Dance A Little Bit Closer" y "Cuchi-Cuchi". Lo mejor de todo es que se incluyen las versiones extendidas de dichos temas y la remasterizacion es inigualable. Larga vida a Charo!

I am so glad I bought this CD. The orchestrations and disco beats are superb together and Charo is perfect to sing these songs. I am sure Cuchi-Cuchi would be huge in disco's even now!
I shall buy Charo's other CD's and some for my friends for Christmas. Perfect!

Not what I expected.......2006-08-12

I was hoping to find Charo doing more latin tunes or spanish guitar along the lines of "Guitar Passion". I don't know how I missed that this was a disco album.

Here's what is missing that should have unquestionably have been on this anthology to make it more complete. The billboard hot 100 hit Ritzy Mambo, and the Billboard Dance Chart hits Tangerine, Salsoul 3001, Don't Beat Around the Bush, street sense, west side story medley, ease on down the road, and fiddler on the roof medley. Other than that, you get mostly album versions, a couple of 12" versions, and an EDIT of the Charo track Dance a Little Bit Closer!!! And did we REALLY need cover versions of Bee Gees disco hits??? This album was originally released on vinyl record. It was remastered, cleaned up and transferred to CD, the artwork was remastered as well and resized for the CD jewel case. CD is a picture disc with the album cover printed on it.

very fun one of a kind collection by a unique superstar. You will laff, and fall in love to this music, Wait til you hear her lvely version of the boring song Lets spend the nite together. Cuchi cuchi and Speedy Gonzalez are very funny, and mOre of you is lovely and sexy., enjoy it.

Saddened!.......2005-11-17

This CD has some really fine sound of philly tracks including of course "Tangerine," "Salsoul Rainbow," "Salsoul Hustle," and "Tale of Three Cities," among others. Unfortunately, though, this collection has not been remastered and the playback is vinyl quality. What a pity! I was happy to hear these oldies again but the sound quality made me sad.

This CD has some of the grooviest tunes on here. My favorites are is "It's Good for the Soul" and "Salsoul Rainbow". Takes me back to my childhood in the 70's going through my parents record crates. I wish I was old enough during that era to go to the discos, I would of never left that dance floor dancing to this album.

THE BRILLIANCE OF MR. VINCENT MONTANA JR........2004-01-27

IT WAS 1974 WHEN I FIRST STUMBLED ON SOME OF THE HITS ON THIS GREAT TWO-DISC COMPILATION. The art of Mr. Vincent Montana, Jr., known better as the Composer, Vibraphonist, Percussionist and Artist, is well defined on this 2-cd disc. You cannot go wrong in making a purchase here. The only song that is missing to me is Charo's "Dance A Little Bit Closer". Actually, there were a few songs Charo did that I would love to see it listed on this compilation. The works of Mr. Montana, Jr. made me want to play the flutes, piccolos, xylophones, timbales. Up to today I remember my old albums of Vincent Montana Jr. He's amazing. His incredible diversity to make music (latin jazz, jazz, disco and even pop) is amazing. A true legendary he is. Much like the Maestro Barry White, Vince Montana is. **Angie** 1.27.04

What a wonderful album! Listen to Salsoul Hustle, e.g., and you know what I mean. Great phillydisco sound! Some tracks can be named "classic". Each one is a masterpiece of its own. The album stands for the genious of the Salsoul Orchestra, its musicians and, of course, the composers. If you like the phillydisco sound and / or if you like great music, Anthology is a must for you!
