NYC NEW Wave, not the 80/90 metal Band.......2007-04-27
Classic new wave power pop from NYC, this has been out of print for decades, other than obscure Italian collection.
2cd set includes both their albums with some bonus live tracks.
Herky jerky rhythms spare muscular guitar bass drums sound with punkish vocals. They almost could be American mods, but guitar sound is cleaner than Who-ish power chords.

Great Album.......2007-01-10
If you are a Roomful of Blues fan -this is a great ablum for your collection. A good mix of swing and traditional blues. May not be as strong on swing blues as some of thier latest recordings, but still very solid.
Fabulous music.......2003-12-25
Blues, swing and rock 'n' roll combine for an unbeatable CD. I have to be careful when playing this on the car stereo--I won't hear an ambulance siren even if it's right next to me! "Blind love," "Turn it on, turn it up," "If you know it" and "Marie, Marie" are my favorites because they best feature Sugar Ray Norcia's stunning voice. This CD is great fun. Don't hesitate to buy it.
Still a Great Blues Band!.......2003-10-14
These guys still got it. If you don't like Roomful of Blues,
I don't like you!
One of the great Boston area blues bands at its best.......2001-03-14
This is a great CD, lots of terrific mainstream blues with plenty of swing thrown in so you can dance to it! I'm ordinarily not a big fan of horn sections, but there's no way you can't love this if you're a blues fan.
One of the Best they've recorded.......2000-10-10
Although I'm a Roomful fan who misses the "old crew" (Robillard, Piccolo, Copley, Porky etc...), this CD can still be considered one of Roomful's best ever.
Of note is the lead singer/harp player Sugar Ray Norcia. His vocals are terrific.
Norcia's rendition of Percy Mayfield's "Danger Zone" is .... and I can't believe I'm saying this ... even better -- more soulful than Ray Charles' version. And Charles, in my opinion is about as close to "God" as a Soulman can get!!
Here, "Danger Zone" is THE PERFECT song. The arrangement is the best, done at a PERFECT tempo, sung perfectly. It opens with an unbelievable Bari-Sax solo that is the knife that plunges deep into your heart. Not an easy task with a BARI! Making things worse (or better), Rich Latalle's Alto Sax solo finishes you off by twisting that knife in deeper again, and again. But, somehow, Norcia's vocals are so smooth -- you'll keep comin' back for more! It hurts so good!!
There's a lot more to this CD too -- but, this review would be too long if I continued to describe.
This CD is definately worth getting, even if your an old Roomful purist.

Customer Reviews:
Nice Soul and Funk by Tyrone Davis.......2007-04-08
Tyrone Davis has a neat voice. My favorite track by far is 1979's "In The Mood," what a nice, smooth and uplifting track; as a rap fan, I noticed the sample used by MC Eiht and DJ Slip for the 1994 G-Funk classic: "All For The Money," which turned me on to this song. He has some disco inflected tracks, which I am not a big fan of, but this cat can hold many a slow and mid-tempo jam. "Heart Failure" is a nice slow jam for the hunnies. "Ain't Nothing I Can Do" is another slow to mid tempo soul scorcher with a nice funky beat and nice rhythm. I am mainly a rap feind, but I can appreciate a good soul jam. This collective is a nice intro to Tyrone Davis. Nice to cruise to on a sunny day or when chillin with ya girl!

Feel The Trance!.......2007-05-21
While many Remix CD's can be monotonous these tracks offer challenging beats of vast proportions that accentuate Paris beautiful vocals.
The Album Version (3:11) has the club beats, great sounding vocals that vary in pitch and style as well as much diversity to the usual dance songs out there.
DJ Dan's Hot 2 Trot Edit (3:38) starts off with the fast tempos, fast synthesizers, and swirling techno electronica beats with plenty of vocals.
The Paul Oakenfold Remix (5:44) is the typical techno remix that has slow to fast climatic breaks with vocals in between and later some synthesizers. Club hoppers will find this longer version to be very groove oriented and funky to dance.
DJ Dan's Hot To Trot Dub (8:04) has the heavy beats much partygoer craves. The banging bass, drums, and increased intensity are high and the boom is all over the place.
DJ Dan's Hot To Trot Vocal (6:35) has plenty of vocals as compared to the previous. There are plenty of fast chipper lively beats bringing about the party atmosphere in high gear. Again, the fast tempos just get your juices flowing for more.
Peter Rauhofer Does Paris (8:13) is about exploring as you get more enhanced voice through electronica effects, not as many vocals, but plenty of hypnotic trance swirls to flow back and forth.
Peter Rauhofer Turn It Up Mix (9:35) has a good 9 + minutes of music as compared to the others. There are tribal beats with Paris uttering some very sensual sounds. This has more club rhythm as the sounds elevate and then lower causing echoes of "Let's get it started now!" There is the voice of a male with electronica effects that sings "Can you make me hot?" behind her vocals.
totally hot mixes.......2007-01-05
you like the original version? you'll LOVE the remixes. so "clubby"! i luv paris.
A hip hop track from the album gets a pounding club makeover.......2006-12-18
It's incredible how the original mix of this song on Paris's album works so perfectly as a more hip-hop flavored track, then gets completely transformed into a sexy stomper here with Paris's flirtatious vocals. Go straight for the DJ Dan mix, which is a hi-nrg electro dance perfection. You'll dance your booty off.
Great DJ's, great production, and that's it.......2006-10-12
Tracklisting plus length was posted so i just write what i think about the tracks. Like i said in the title everything seems great but the vocals are just poor. Everyone can sing if he/she has the money i guess. But i never give a damn who is singing - the remixers are all i care about. Mixes are great but weather you like them or not - it depends on your taste.
1. Turn It Up (Album Version) ** now this mix is poor - but when you listen to Paris album it turns out its pretty decent - no wonder they chose this track to be the second single;
2. Turn It Up (DJ Dan Hot 2 Trot Edit) ****
3. Turn It Up (Paul Oakenfold Mix) *** very poor mix - his collaboration with Brittany Murphy "Faster Kill Pussycat" was a LOT better; this one sounds too loud and 'messy';
4. Turn It Up (DJ Dan Hot 2 Trot Dub) **** if you like the vocal mix you may also enjoy the longer dub version - i do;
5. Turn It Up (DJ Dan Hot 2 Trot Vocal Mix) ***** my fav mix, better than Rauhofer mixes for me, and is not too long, only 6:36; electro house - so popular these days;
6. Turn It Up (Peter Rauhofer Does Paris Mix) ***** very good, hard house plus electro i guess, reminds me of Peter's recent mixes like 2 Raum Wohnung & Moguai "Sex Secret" or Starkillers "Discoteka", my fav Peter mix on this cdsingle;
7. Turn It Up (Peter Rauhofer Turns It Up Mix) *** the mix is typical tribal house Peter does, too long and too boring for my liking, the vocals he uses in this mix are not good. Too much bass was used too. I recommend the other mix.
Overall the cdsingle is worth the money. You get a variety of mixes and i'm sure you'll like at least one ^^
remix heaven.......2006-10-04
I will admit, I love Paris Hilton. Even before the CD. I just have respect for anyone who does as they please, not caring what others may think or say. That said, this single is freakin' awesome! I've always loved a good remix, but have noticed that anymore, a remix cd is essentially the same song 6 times. (and i don't mean the same song remixed 6 different ways, i mean the same remix 6 times.) Paris certainly seems to recognize the market for good dance music, which is something I always wished Britney would've figured out a lot sooner. Paris has taken her two singles so far, found some big, talented, good names to do the remix work, and has released two really good singles. I think "Turn it Up" is simply awesome. DJ Dan turned it into a shake your butt don't leave the dancefloor good time. Paul Oakenfold did what Paul Oakenfold always does, and it's the least impressive of the mixes. Then Peter Rauhoffer really does turn it up for the "Peter Rauhoffer Turns it Up Remix." This is the best of the bunch. It sounds like something I would've heard in the warehouse, back when raves were still underground and there weren't 8 million teenagers running around saying that they're DJ's. Paris has proven that she knows what will work in the clubs, and this single is worth every penny.

"The treacherous Three, in the place to be"!!.......2005-08-27
People talk about "rap pioneers" all the time, but have no clue about what they're talking about, especially when it comes to Hip-Hop! The T3 are true innovaters, originaters and trendsetters of the genre, even to this day! Why? Well, for starters, Kool Moe Dee is universally acknowledged as one of the 3 pillars (the other 2 are Melle mel and Grand Master Caz) and creator of the lyrical styles developed with in Hip-Hop, that are still in use to this very day. KMD, along with the rest of the crew (including Spoony G) are credited with devoloping the "fast rap" technique in Hip-Hop (listen to "THE NEW RAP LANGUAGE"). Also KMD and Special K were pioneers in the use of high-tech vernacular and superb eloquence integrated with in their flows. The song "BODY ROCK" was the first to incorprate rock guitars (way before Run-DMC). It's evident, the lyrical legacy of Kool Moe Dee is obviuos on too many Mc's like Percee-p, Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane, etc. all the way up to Big Pun (let's not forget LL). The Treacherous 3 are Hip-Hop legends, true pioneers and masters of the MC craft. This compilation contains nothing less than true classic Hip-Hop. A piece of Hip-Hop music history.
