Amazon's review describes Ellis Hall as a "former Tower of Power vocalist," but he's so much more than that. Ellis Hall has been a well-known musician for over 25 years, only 3 of which were spent with Tower of Power. He started his musical career in Boston, and formed the Ellis Hall Group which was THE best known band in Boston for a long time. Ellis is an expert at everything he does. He doesn't just sing.. He plays bass, drums, keyboards, acoustic and electric guitar, and plays them all as if they were each his primary instrument. He writes, he produces, he teaches, and he has a voice so powerful and so emotional, he can bring the broadest smile or the deepest sorrow to whoever is listening. He was one of the voices of The California Raisins, he's sung title songs for various movie soundracks. Oh.. and did I mention that he's totally blind and has been since childhood? This CD, "The Spirit Lingers On," showcases Ellis Hall's many talents. His vocals and arrangements are breathtaking. He exudes positivity and optimism in "Sunny Days" and "Keep Your Life Straight Ahead" and breaks our hearts in "What Will I Do."
