que le pasa a enrique?.......2007-06-23

De verdad que me desepciono, pense que enrique tenia mucho mas para dar que simples canciones tipo sabina, ya paso la epoca de sui generis. Lo mejor para mi fue cuando dejo heroes, se ve que tenia muchas ideas y ganas se hacer cosas buenas y diferentes, pero parece que se le agotaron las ideas. las letras seran lindas pero la musica deprimente. Vamos Enrique ponete las pilas!!!!

Bad companies made the best album of 2006.......2007-04-10

Bunbury and Vegas have known each other for a while now, they toured together for `Radical Sonora', Nacho with Manta Ray was one of the opening bands in Enrique's concerts for that tour. Years later, they toured together again but now with Bunbury's `Freak Show'. It was during this time that the two of them, as well as Carlos Ann came up with the idea of recording an album together, due to creative differences Carlos decided not to continue, Bunbury and Vegas started working on what later would be `El tiempo de las cerezas'

The project worked out well for both artists, showing that bad companies are not always that bad; Enrique doesn't sound overly produced as he usually does and his lyrics are without a doubt some of his best so far. Nacho on the other hand, sounds better produced and delivers 8 of his best songs so far. Their influences are clear: Dylan, Van Zandt, Cohen and even Cash.

`No fue bueno pero fue lo mejor' sounds autobiographical and tells us how Enrique feels after the separation from the `Huracan ambulante', its accompanying video shows a clown wearing Enrique's outfit from the Freak Show to finally place it in a suitcase and leave. `El rumbo de tus sueños' is another song that has already become a classic. `Ahora', one of the best songs in this album was ironically written for Raphael (it is actually included in his latest album `Cerca de ti') yet Enrique's version makes it one of the best songs in this double album. Enrique goes back to basics and his interpretative style sounds better than in `El viaje a ninguna parte'. `Welcome to el callejon sin salida' is another great song that has Enrique experimenting with new sounds resulting in an awesome track.

Being a fan of Enrique for years now, I have to admit that Nacho Vegas is better than Enrique in this album. His lyrics and music are more elaborated and the feeling with which Nacho sings gives a different tone to his songs (a perfect example would be `Va a empezar a llover' and `Bravo' original of Luis Demetrio in which Nacho delivers a powerful interpretation of this old song) `El cazador' has a clear influence of Dylan in its intro and chorus, `La fin' is another great song from Nacho that has its best part in an ending theme clearly influenced by Enrique from his days with the `Huracan ambulante'. `Serie negra' shows a different approach from Nacho, the lyrics and music are just some of the best I've heard in a while. `La pena o la nada' would be, in my opinion, Nacho's best contribution to this album.

The only co-written song, `Latex' is a total letdown, it is not a bad song but considering they separately wrote all this incredible songs I guess I expected something better for the only one in which they worked together, the music is fine yet the lyrics are nothing compared to others included in this same album.

Bottomline, an incredible album that cannot be compared to their previous works. Definitely one of their best so far. No wonder why this album was considered one of the best of 2006 by many specialized music sites and magazines.

Beautiful Rock .......2007-01-21

Think Nick Cave, Mark Lanegan, and Leonard Cohen... Seminal musicians both and this CD does not dissapoint. Each song feels necessary and in the right place. Its an organic experience. I instantly felt like this was one of my favorite all time CDs. Its so familiar, so comforting. The songs are tender but edgy, definitely rock, melodious, with some experimental edges, and the lyrics are well developed stories. Very evocative and the kind of album you play at midnight with candles burning. Or, if you like (as I do) on your MP3 while walking the dog. No matter where you are or what you are doing, this CD will provide the right ambience. A must have for fans but a great entrypoint for those not familiar with either artist. Your music collection will be enriched. Epa el Rock en Espanol!

Great quality, even though Bunbury didn't innovate as much as he has accostumed us, is pretty interesting this work.

well, not just because i'm a total fan of all his work and pres. of his fan club, :) but he does unleash these emotions in his song that just help you unleash your own if just for a moment during one os his rock ballad wailing moments. this album is the bomb because it sums up the pain of love and life musically and oh so beautifully but all his stuff i think touches on that theme somehow its what he identifies most with i think. email me if you'd like to know more about his material. i'm always glad to help.

Incredilble follow up to Cristian's Smash debut........1999-04-19

Many thought Cristian wouldn't last and that his musical success was because of his connections in show-biz (his famous mother Veronica). However with this second album , Cristian proved to the Latin Music Industry that he is amongst the best and is here to stay. Songs like "Nunca Voy a Olvidarte" which broke industry records within its first weeks , "Mejor Asi", "Por Amor a ti" , and "Lo Voy A Intentar" have become anthems for Latin American youth. Possibly one of the best Albums in the Spanish language, the only one that can compete with this one is AGUA NUEVA ( 1st LP). You'll definitely get your money's worth with this one.

It's a real great CD. Why? Well, I'm a fan of cristian. I've heard at least every song he has sang. But overall I like this CD because its got a lot of my favroite songs

In the wake of the beautiful pop latino singers, Cristian sings so movingly that he makes you cry. With "Nunca Voy Olvidarte" and an Enigma sounding "Un Segundo" he unleashes his emotion and singing ability. If you like Miguel Bose, try Cristian. This is a must have in any romantic collection.

Nydia Caro's music stirs one's very soul. I don't understand all of the lyrics in Spanish, but it doesn't matter. It's pure Puerto Rican Paradise! She is one of most truly gifted and talented performers I have ever seen! And the pleasure and honor to work with.

Awesome Muneca de Los Ojos Brujos.......2003-12-12

This is a beautiful CD especially for folks that used to watch Nydia when she first started in "el show de las 12" in our beautiful island of Puerto Rico. She was a big hit and I am oh so happy to see that we are still able to get her music. Her stuff should sell! How about Chuco Avellanet ... you guys would make great $$$ if you had more of his music............

Long awaited.......2001-05-28

Nydia Caro, one of the singers from Puerto Rico leaving her trademark of beautiful songs "en el tiempo". Although this is not a greatest hits compilation it portrays some of her best ever. I remember watching "El show de Nydia Caro" every sunday night back in the day. Nydia has a different style, her songs are like poetry and she sings every note from the bottom of her heart. The instrumentation is breathtaking especially the flute played in many of her songs like "Duerme", "Me va, me va", "Cuentale" and "Un pueblo es". Classics like "Tu como estas", "Para vivir" and" Antonio" sound like new throught the magic of digital technology. I hope this is just the begining and we'll see all of her records released in CD. After all, Nydia deserve to be perpetuated for the delight of her many fans around the world.

Ah! the pleasure to hear those songs on CD!! Nydia Caro has one of the most beautiful voices in Latin America. Her style has had a keen influence in many baladeers. Her beauty, class, and elegance have always been admired. This cd has some of her best, and what songs they are!. "No Pudo Ser" sounds so fresh, so pure, so sweet, yet so heartfelt. In "Antonio" one can almost hear the sounds of the waves, so compelling Nydia Caro is singing a ballad. In "Para Vivir" one gets the impression that the voice and piano are coming from the same place, it is just such a perfect mix, like two instruments complementing each other.

In the dance tracks "Palabras de Amor", "El Amor entre Tu y Yo","A Quien Vas a Seducir", her voice is fun, engaging, and enchanting.

"Hoy Canto por Cantar" has not lost any of the strengh and appeal that had 26 years ago. What is interesting to notice that all these songs can be as captivating and current as when they were played in the 70's and 80's. They still could be welcome on the radio.

One misses so many, many, songs that were not included such as:"Me Gustas Cuando Callas", "La Novia Triste", "Para Cuando sea Mayor", "Amigo Despierta", "La Separada", "Vendra", "Quiero Bailar", "Alguien". I hope, wish, and pray that her whole Alhambra years would be on CDs very soon.

But just as a sample of this lady's talent, we have "Nydia en el Tiempo". After listening to it, you will run to get her other titles "Oro Romantico" a golden recopilation of her TH recordings, and "De Amores Luminosos" her 1998 masterpiece.

"Nydia en el Tiempo" is a classic which just as Nydia's beauty seems to be ageless, never ending.

Thank you, this millenium is starting the right way!

Beautiful songbird sings some of her old timeless classics........2000-09-20

To talk and write about Nydia Caro is to talk and write about class, beauty, talent, and a heartful voice. This CD contains some of her best work in the decade of the 70's and 80's. But, don't be fooled, these songs are timeless, classic that would fit on today radio waves. What a pleasure is to hear "No pudo ser" on a cd, how clear, how sweet, how pure her voice sounds. In "Antonio" you can almost hear the waves of the ocean, so meaningful and convincing Nydia Caro is singing a ballad. In "Para Vivir" both her voice and the piano seem to come from her heart. In the dance tracks, she sounds fun, light, and still enchanting. This CD contains some of her best, but not all of them, one misses so many songs: "Me Gustas Cuando Callas", "La Novia Triste", "Amigo Despierta","La Separada", "Vendra", "Alguien", "Quiero Bailar" and many, many more. One hopes,wishes, and prays that her whole Alhambra years would be released on CD. Her Rodven records are already on CD, adequately called "Oro Romantico".
