Bella y Romantica!.......2003-02-27

This must be by far the most romantic music on the planet and Pablo Montero the most romantic singer. It is difficult to believe he was so young when he recorded this; he has an old soul that obviously understands the painful side of love. Even if you can't understand the lyrics, you will feel every note touch your heart. His voice is that perfect blend of romantic, sexy, and heroic that makes you forget that anyone else has ever sung love songs. The title song and "Casi te olvido" are particularly noteworthy (pun intended; the backup band, El Mariachi Vargas De Tecalitlan, is a perfect match for his splendid voice).

Here is hoping he never strays too far for too long from his musical heritage. If your exposure to ranchera music has only been in your local Mexican restaurant, you need to listen to this CD. Immediatemente.
