Vikki Carr's voice has only grown better in the many years she has been performing and this album proves it. A highlight of the album is her duet with Marco Antonio Muniz. Her timing is impecable and her delivery and vocal power are outstanding.

With the help of Mariachi Vargas, Vikki Carr has found her way back to her roots and has done so with the rich full voice that has made her an international success. Carr's choice of songs is impecable and captures the true romance and flavor of Mexico. As a long awaited follow up to her 1985 Grammy winning mariachi cd "Siemplemente Mujer", Carr's mariachi style has grown and matured to become the best in the business.

A near-classic collection.......1998-09-26

Two legendary Latin talents team on this disc. While it's not the classic it could have been, it's still a pretty fine disc. Carr's voice is rich and her phrasing impeccable, and Mariachi Vargas offers marvelous support. But the disc features too many ballads and not enough of the fiery, emotional songs for which Carr is known. Also, she remakes three of her old hits ("Hasta Que Vuelvas," "Hoy" and "Por Amor"), which seems to be a rather needless move.
