5 out of 5 stars This is my favorite album so far!.......1999-12-31

First, I thought That Graciela's 15 Exitos Con Banda y Mariachi vol. 1 was my favorite- well..i guess you can say both are tied, as this comeback, volume 2, features EVEN MORE great songs like the ones on vol. 1, and both are equally great! First of all..if you are not into or cannot stand banda, then stop reading this review..i just happen to be a fan of Graciela's, and can tolerate any music she does..even if its banda (i know this type of music isn't for alot of people, especially americans..but if u want to try it out, go for it! u won't be disappointed with Graciela's bright voice) Overall, i was very pleased with alot of the selections being from her VERY young days..aka, Con La Banda Culiacan (i.e- Morena y Delgadita, Te Perdi La Fe, La Prietita)- the songs from THIS album were my favorite, not so much because they were banda, but because her voice was especially high and perky, something i love to hear in a voice. Listening to Graciela just makes me happy, and i think she is a very talented artist who deserves alot more recognition here in the US...hopefully she will record in a style of music that is more universal, so that EVERYONE will listen to her, and give that already beautiful voice a chance.

1 out of 5 stars Go Back!.......2000-04-04

HEY YOU, HIT THE BACK BUTTON NOW!..before you throw up! This is a very nasty CD. I cant stand listening it when ever my cousin plays it! It's torture!

1 out of 5 stars The worst of the worst..........2000-03-30

Not only has she NO uniqueness in her style, but her voice sounds like a squirel's voice. She should be taken off this web-site. She's horrible!

4 out of 5 stars Interesting Mariachi sounds on '15 Exitos'.......1999-12-26

This is a good compilation album of some of Beltran's earlier songs. Attention-grabbers include "Mi Tiempo de Amar," full of shrill string instruments that highlight the singer's uniquely high-pitched voice. "No Eres El Mismo De Ayer", and "Voy a Morir Por Ti" are other catchy tunes that are unlike normal mariachi songs. Beltran fills these songs with drama and emotion. The mariachi version of "No Me Trates Mal" is a must-hear, one of Beltran's best tunes of all time. Forget the banda songs that fill the majority of the disc. They were recorded when she was very young and have a bare-bones sound to them. She has re-recorded most of these songs for her more recent "Grandes y Nuevos Exitos" compilations, with much better results.

5 out of 5 stars Graciela- This is the way i like to hear it! :).......1999-11-21

My Favorite Favorite song on this album is "Te Perdi La Fe" it is such a pretty song and her voice is the MOST BEAUTIFUL on this song. the title is cute, and her voice is especially high when she sings in this song- it is the sharpest, most piercing and shrill its ever been. now, normally, when most people hear the word "shrill" they roll up into a ball, but with Graciela, this IS her sound- it is unique and fits her perfectly. shrill, high and piercing are the qualities which describe the quality of her voice and its general style, while strong and full describe the tone. She is truly and awesomely amazingly gifted in singing. Now, don't get me wrong- i REALLY don't like the banda sound. it just completely ruins her voice. However, Graciela's shining voice is hard to ignore even in a heap of banda songs. I would really like to see her sing pretty soft ballads and babydoll pop dance songs like that of Selena, Ana Cirre, Ana Gabriel- look at all these women- they have truly the BEST songs going for them- now, if Graciela could just sing their type of music, she would be the most perfect artist out there. Not that she isn't already- but its just that EVEN her music would be just as perfect as she is, if she could complement her beautiful voice with music as beautiful as it. and obviously, banda is not doing her voice justice and sadly overpowering the beauty it brings to MOST ears, because the ugly sound itself is what u notice most. (although with me, since i am a fan, i am able to overook this and appreciate Graciela's voice nevertheless) Aneway, this CD is a compilation of all her past hits when she was around 12-14, and at this time in her life is when her voice was at its most beautiful. High, young, perky, full of energy, impetuous, stratospheric, bright, shrill, piercing- everything. There are a few hi-lites for those of you who hate banda (which is only normal), like her mariachi hits- these, thankfully, are beautiful songs and the music is delicate and babydoll like. Although, some of the banda hits on here i really do love like "Morena Y Delgadita", "La Madreselva" and "El Amor No Se Vende" because they are sung in a perky, high voice and the melodies are happy, cute, and upbeat, and most of all memorable and infectious (as far as banda goes). "Te Perdi La Fe" is the same as them as well, only it has a special melody that makes it stand out from the rest. (if they just put this song in babydoll dance mix form and got rid of the banda, it would be perfect!) So....buy this album, try it out, and if u hate the music, at least try to see if u appreciate the voice!
