Beautiful landscapes portrayed on this album..........2005-02-11
Basically this is a re-release of `La forma de mover tus manos' with a bonus CD featuring 5 new songs and some other interesting goodies. For the ones who like and remember Spanish rock from the 80's, it will be a nice surprise to know that Antonio Vega partakes on this album, the opening song is the lyrical `Que yo no lo sabia' performed on a duet by Shuarma and Antonio in a delightful semi-acoustic version of the song. The second track is a new song, `Poco a poco', a beautiful ballad performed by Shuarma with that feeling so particular of his that makes the whole extra CD worth having and makes you wonder why this track was not included on the original release of the album. An alternate version of `Quedemonos juntitos' is also offered here. `Luz' presents itself as a rare and unique track that impresses mostly by its lyrics than for its music. `Para que sirven las cosas' presents Shuarma-like lyrics with an unusual instrumentation from the band that makes the song a little hard to listen to but also quite enjoyable and rare. The next track presented is definitely my favorite track from the album and it's included in two versions, `Cada parte de ti (con acento del sur)' and the b-side version in track 11, an excellent ballad version enhanced by a melancholic piano in the background, the best song of the album. `Cerca de mi' has also a piano rendition worth having but definitely one of the highlights of the bonus disc is `Lucha de gigantes', originally sung by nacha Pop, in the voice of Shuarma and Antonio Vega in an interesting acoustic version. The last track of the album is the aggressive new song `Perro Bambi' that works as a perfect ending theme for an album that deserved to be released separately instead of as a bonus CD on an existing album.
If this is the kind of material they leave out of the albums I can't wait till I listen to the new one! Great album and worth every penny spent on it.
