It's hard to follow up the record that made you famous. For many artists, that's their first album, and the disappointing results are termed the "sophomore slump." Luckily, Tegan and Sara's star-making Juno-nominated album, So Jealous, was their fourth--and their fifth album, The Con, not only avoids any kind of slump but sets a new bar of quality quite high. While both a darker and quirkier album than the near-perfect heartbreak pop of So Jealous, The Con skillfully packs its instant hooks in so tight, virtually every line becomes the one you want to sing along to--and the twins' lyrics aren't your typical pop pabulum. Layer upon layer of tasty ear candy coat considered sentiments like "Nobody likes to but I really like to cry," "I felt you in my legs before I ever met you," and "Maybe I would have been something you'd be good at"--lyrics that feel honest and add an emotional urgency and depth rarely heard on the radio. However, the biggest leap Tegan and Sara made on this record was not the lyrical content, but how the album itself was created. The switch to coproducing with indie superstar Christopher Walla (Decemberists, Death Cab for Cutie) is apparent, and part of what gives this record its distinctive and innovative touch. From the odd structure of "I Was Married" to the thumping electronica of "Are You Ten Years Ago," The Con reverberates with unabashed creativity, and it's a rare pleasure to hear it done so well. I would be surprised if another band this year made a better record--it's really that good. A special bonus for fans: don't shy away from this deluxe edition--it includes a DVD with a feature-length intimate documentary on the making of the album, offering a lot of insight into their creative process. --Alan Wiley

5 out of 5 stars Totally impressive - a sea change - surpasses even their sparkling previous albums.......2007-07-28

I love the music of Tegan and Sara. In the space of less than two years since I discovered them, they've become my favourite indie pop band by a wide margin. The emotions that their music produces are hard to pin down. There's the whole gamut: sheer leaping-around-the-room exhilaration at their songwriting genius, genuine affection for these incredibly endearing young women, hilarity at their wit, occasional twinges of heartache at their self-deprecation and wistfulness, and many half-glimpsed personal thoughts and insights which I cannot articulate. Often on earlier albums, it seemed that the subtlety and dryness of their lyrics were cleverly and deliberately set at odds with their upbeat and extroverted pop performance style, which produced an amused and amazed response in their many adoring listeners. This latest release however is yet more challenging and more complex. Their genius for quirky, melodic songwriting is still fully in evidence, so the familiar experience of T&S-exhilaration is still there to be enjoyed. But their performance style is decidedly different. At last, their lyrical depth and subtlety, searing honesty and absolute refusal to settle for simplistic cliché when discussing matters of the heart is fully expressed in multi-layered, sophisticated, inspired and beautifully produced music, and in subtle, fully committed and expressive vocal performances. This is an exciting and beautifully crafted album which defies any kind of easy description or facile summary. It fully deserves your time and attention. Listen to them, and if you don't already, you will learn to love them too.

5 out of 5 stars Such a great album!.......2007-07-24

If you are hesitant about buying this album, don't be!
It is a GREAT album and definitely a must have for any indie music fan.
Tegan and Sara have grown into some really outstanding musicians/lyricist. It's inspiring to see how much they've grow since "This Business of Art" and ""If It Was You."

Songs like: Back in your head, Hop a plane, and Nineteen WILL get stuck in your head!

Songs like: The con, I was married, soil, soil, like O like H show exactly how much this band has grown musically and lyrically.

Listen to this whole album 2 times and I GUARANTEE you'll be hooked!

This album was like a breath of fresh air that I so desperately needed.
The Con is definitely worth owning.

4 out of 5 stars 4.5; a stellar release from a reliable duo.......2007-07-24

Canadian twin sister duo Tegan and Sara's 2nd record had more of a classic rock leanings with full chords and small arrangements and genuinely felt more interesting soundwise. However, followup So Jealous felt like more of a rock record with tons of poppiness but without the intricacies that previous songs had. But then we have this record which shows the band is getting more adept at punctuating songs with more musicianship parts and textures to give the songs more weight. While it's not as immediate as last time, it's definately their best record so far. I'll note who wrote which song for those interested.

I Was Married (Sara): A more subdued and quieter opener than previous ones had, it's more of like a nice ditty or an introduction to the record than an actual song. 7.5/10

Relief Next to Me (Sara): Sonically it's interesting with so many things going on at once but as a song, it's alright. It's certainly a listenable song but as far as a hooky song that you can sing along to, it's not really developed that way. 7.5/10

The Con (Tegan): Probably one of their best songs period. From the dynamic changes to the vocals in the guitars, it's a great rock song that manages to be punchy and loud without being overbearing and has a great driving quality to it, excellent song. 9.5/10

Knife Going In (Sara): After a track like the Con, of course the next song might not seem as great. It's just that musically it's fine, I'm not a big fan of the vocal melody and it even sounds grating with the "I'm feeling anxIOUS!" line. 7/10

Are You Ten Years Ago (Tegan): Here's a nice surprise. Mainly bass and drums driven, it's more like a techno song than anything and while it won't light up the dance floors, it's one of the more enjoyable tracks simply because it's so quirky and different than they've done. 8/10

Back in Your Head (Sara): Not as repetitive a first single as Walking With a Ghost was, it's just a nice catchy rock song in its simplicity and despite its ironic title (since it will most likely not leave your head), it's just a great track period. 9/10

Hop a Plane (Tegan): Teased on the DVD that it's the most expendable track, it's also one of the more "So Jealous"-like tracks on the record. It's catchy, it's short but there's not much to it either. 7.5/10

Soil, Soil (Tegan): A quiet acoustic track, it was actually a grower track since on first listen I didn't like its more intimate, unhooky qualities than found myself liking it for that reason. 8.5/10

Burn Your Life Down (Sara): It's a likable track and its got enough qualities to make it a favorite for people but I didn't get into it that much. That all changed when the bridge came in and the vocals get more louder and forceful and I ended up liking it more. Good thing. 8/10

Nineteen (Tegan): Similar to the Con or I Bet It Stung from the last record where its more punchy and has a darker quality about it. This is mainly due to Tegan's vocals which haven't really changed much but they're just as emotive. 9/10

Floorplan (Sara): Similar to Knife Going On, the main hook is kind of grating which kind of deflates the song a bit. In this case it's the "presSURE!" which kind of takes away from the hook of "all eyes are on me now". Musically it's similar to that song as well. 7.5/10

Like O, Like H (Sara): When I first heard the track, I didn't like it but since most of them grew on me I thought I'd listen more. It still hasn't grown on me. Some songs suffer from lack of hooks and nothing to latch onto. Problem with this song is the main hook is just not that memorable. 6.5/10

Dark Come Soon (Tegan): Another great track where it starts out quietly and a great vocal melody than it gets more rock-y with a catchy but not overused synth riff and increasing pace. Would've made a great album closer but too bad it's buried way at the back of the record. 9/10

Call it Off (Tegan): Even though she didn't want it to sound like a singer/songwriter track, that's what this track sounds like. It doesn't really have the intimate qualities I Can't Take It had and it feels like less is more would've been the ideal approach since again there's tons of stuff going on. 7.5/10

What So Jealous has was very sparse in its instrumentation but there was hooks galore on that thing. Here the parts that people can latch onto are a little bit less obvious but the rewarding parts feel all the more satisfying when you "get" a song. From by-the-numbers albums from pop rock bands to half ***ed comebacks, it's nice to know there's at least a great rock record buried somewhere in your CD store.

5 out of 5 stars Tee and Ess are the greatest........2007-07-24

This cd is good, not just good, great!!. If you thought Tee and Ess weren't mature or grown up (as on so jealous) this cd puts all that to rest. One can definetley hear that death cab for cutie guys influence all over this cd. But that is not bad, I have never been fan of death for cutie I always said they would better if they had female vocalist instead of a whiny male vocalist. Well Tegan and Sara took theyre love Dcfc and put it to good use on this new album. Theyre some crazy trip hop sounding songs (are you ten years ago) and some great songs that sound like they would be a DCFC song (you know the ones that go on and on for like 6 minutes) Well Tee and Ess Have songs like that but they are all just 2 minutes. Well, this cd is just perfect and is friggin soooooo much better than so jealous. So, buy it now!!!!!!!!!!! or download a leaked copy but one way or another obtain a copy of this wonderful cd

4 out of 5 stars Tegan and Sara mature, and blow me away in the process!.......2007-07-24

How do you follow an album like "So Jealous," an album that not only helped solidify Tegan and Sara's place as one of the decade's most notable indie pop/rock acts, but also helped define their career? How do you follow the sheer, raw enjoyment that was found over every second of such a fantastic record? For the Quin sisters, the answer is "The Con," their newest and, in my opinion, best album.

On "The Con," Tegan and Sara show that they've matured a lot since their last outing, not only musically, but lyrically as well. Whereas "So Jealous" was largely a fast-paced rock album, this one is much more balanced. There are clearly songs that sound like classic Tegan and Sara, but at the same time there are also some beautifully composed and executed songs. Almost every track on the album features multiple layers of guitars and synthesizers. "Relief Next To Me" showcases this addition quite nicely, as does "Knife Going In" and the absolutely awesome title track. "Are You Ten Years Ago" forgoes the typical drum set for an electronic drum track, and the end result is a more effective song than it would've been otherwise.

It's clear that the Quin sisters wanted to make an album that branches out from their previous sounds and explores new territory. For any artist, it is always a tricky path to walk. However, Tegan and Sara have achieved their goal flawlessly. They no longer sound like little girls but women. Every second of "The Con" showcases their maturity as musicians and as lyricists, and I couldn't be happier.

"So Jealous" was always sort of a guilty pleasure for me. As a grown male, you better believe I faced some opposition from friends when I tried to show them Tegan and Sara. No longer. "The Con" is an album that I'm not only proud to own, but I'm trilled to say that it's one of the best, most surprising records to release in 2007. If you've ever been a Tegan and Sara fan, you absolutely have to check this one out!

4 out of 5 stars fun.......2007-08-06

This album is a first for me with Tegan and Sara. In fact, I haven't heard of them before. I only got it because Chris Walla from Death Cab for Cutie produced it and the sample music sounded good. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy this album. The lyrics aren't especially clever, however the music is good. The vocals sound something akin to Cindy Lauper doing alternative but not annoying. Song 3 is my favorite. It sounds something like a Killers song with female vocals. Many songs on this album are reminiscent of other songs and bands though I can't quite put my finger on them all. In general, "The Con" is kind of rock, pop, and alternative rolled into one. Chris Walla must have made all the difference. I wasn't too impressed with Tegan and Sara's earlier work by the samples I heard, but all in all, I truly enjoy this ablum. Great work girls!

5 out of 5 stars an album about lies and confessions.......2007-08-04

The biggest key to deconstructing Tegan and Sara's The Con can be found in the line "I won't go my whole life telling you I don't need." It's a break-up album: a tale of love lost, and clearly one of the twins is blaming herself. In interviews with the duo, Tegan admits it was the dissolution of a five year relationship that is the basis of the lyrical fodder, and that she's not afraid to make her heartache poetically public.

The Con is an album about lies and confessions. The instrumental manages to be upbeat while at the same time being the perfect indie-pop accompaniment for the melancholy admitting of wrongdoings. And while Tegan and her sister sing about the demise of something that once was so good ("Nineteen"), they turn the self-sufficient suffering into a blissful break-up album that any ex-girlfriend can only find heartbreakingly honest.

It's quite obvious that the writing of The Con was a therapeutic experience for Tegan, and fans are only better off for it. It's the most captivating and best written album Tegan and Sara have released, and their maturity is emerging with lines like, "The pressure of this life is so/You can't be held accountable."

5 out of 5 stars Absorb 2x, read the lyrics booklet and enjoy.......2007-07-28

This is a great album, with jarring new depth in regards to lyrics and a diversity of rhythms and vibes--but it requires a close listen, twice. It definitely took longer to catch the essence of this album, and it was well worth it.

It has the classic Tegan and Sara vocal sounds and contorted enjambment. But in many regards, it sounds altogether different, but for the best. Some tracks miss the mark (like Floorplan and I was Married--neither of which I could seem to get my head around and like), but there are some true gems.

My favorites include:
The Con--the title track itself and single released is upbeat and snappy
Are You Ten Years Ago--a spinny, electronic feel that requires concentration
Back in your Head--similar to the Con, but with more sophisticated yet simple lyrics
Soil, Soil--short and sweet
Burn your Life Down--the end of this song is utterly enrapturing
Nineteen--superb lyrics and an appealing rawness
Call it Off--depressing, certainly, but again, great lyrics and a smooth sound (not always characteristic of Tegan and Sara) are at work here

I'd give it a strong recommendation.

5 out of 5 stars A Grand Departure.......2007-07-25

Many would argue that twin sisters Tegan and Sara left their folk rock tunes behind after the release of their first record. Certainly each subsequent album has strayed farther from their acoustic-based roots, but this is a complete departure. Since their 2004 effort, So Jealous, a CD filled with soaring pop ballads and quirky, heart-felt tunes, the girls seemed to have grown a lot in a few different areas.

For one, the Quins' writing has improved, evident in such songs as "Nineteen" when Tegan admits to an unknown "you", "I felt you in my legs before I ever met you/And when I laid beside you for the first time I told you/'I feel you in my heart and I don't even know you.'" Or when Sara's breathy voice lends itself to the haunting "Floorplan" with "I want to draw you a floorplan of my head and heart/I want to give you directions, helpful hints/what you'll be looking for".

The girls' musicianship has also taken a great leap. The variety of sounds weaved around disarmingly subtle, yet powerful voices may leave some listeners feeling alienated after the first listen. The alternation of beats and peculiarity of song structure on this record will not be an instant hit with most people, but after a few listens, appreciation is sure to blossom.

Overall, the Con is a triumphant record of love, loss, and healing. It's lyrics are uncomfortably honest, not necessarily obvious and they're placed upon a perfect backdrop of both haunting melodies and chipper beats (complete with bright piano, electric and acoustic guitars, thumping basslines--contributed by both Hunter Burgan of AFI and Matt Sharp of the Rentals, and the occasional steel guitar). It's the musical equivalent of having your lover tell you everything you ever wanted (and never wanted) to hear. The good, the bad, and the ugly. It hurts. But love always does.

3 out of 5 stars Hot but not.......2007-07-25

I root for these two, because let's face it, twin lesbians are hot. Unfortunately they sound like a straighter (so to speak) Throwing Muses without the song-writing talent, not yet anyway. "The Con" is a good example, it starts off great, a really nice guitar line, and has good bits in it, but overall it's kind of messed up, switching gears and tempos too much, the young composer's disease strikes again. "Plane" is a similar jumble. "Nineteen" is more straight forward, but half way through the overly-frenetic beat gets out of synch with the leads, oops.

They don't really have the vocal talent for this kind of music either, a kind of Juliania Hatfield sound without her power, which isn't saying a lot. "Knife" isn't a very good song, no real hook, but a deep set of pipes might have saved it. I think they'd be better over a shoegazer type sound, where it wouldn't matter what they were singing.

Overall I'm not really sure they are going to make it with this garage/techno/indie groove, their voices are too breathy and the songs too scattered. But I'm not writing them off entirely, they're young, and there are enough parts that show promise ("felt you in my legs before I met you"; nice), and besides . . . they're hot.

There are worse things in life than making your acting debut on the much ballyhooed season finale of Ally McBeal, though teen operatic baritone Josh Groban doesn't seem destined to encounter them anytime soon. As the awkward high school student-client who asks the typically romance-jinxed Ally to his senior prom, Groban performed this debut album's "You're Still You" (adapted from film-composing legend Ennio Morricone's Academy Award-nominated score for Malèna, with lyrics by Linda Thompson) as a heart-tugging, literal showstopper. The young phenom was just 17 when veteran producer-writer David Foster tapped him to fill in for Andrea Bocelli at rehearsals for the 1999 Grammys, where Groban found himself suddenly dueting with Celine Dion.

Indeed, such were his fortunes that the young Foster protégé was forced to drop out of Carnegie Mellon when professional commitments--including this record--interfered. And if this collection tends to hew sometimes uncomfortably close to Foster's own MOR sonic instincts, the material offers enough challenges to display Groban's talent and the potential of his warm, mature voice: a lyrical take on another Morricone classic, "Cinema Paradiso"; melancholy readings of Don McLean's "Starry, Starry Night" and Albert Hammond's "Alejate"; masterfully dramatic takes of the Neapolitan "Alla Luca Del Sole" and "Canto Alla Vita," the latter featuring the Corrs. Many of Groban's performances here, including a neo prog-rock-opera take on Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" (with Lili Haydn), seem both bigger and bolder than their precious musical frameworks, a telling hint that Grand Opera can't be far from his grasp. As said earlier, there are worse things in life. --Jerry McCulley

5 out of 5 stars The best pasodobles.......2007-04-24

Originally conceived as music for La Fiesta Brava or bullfight, the pasodobles presented here by Mariachi Vargas are some of the best within their genre. Whether you love the music of the bullfight or are into ballroom dancing the pasodoble has a catching and infectous, unique style. Filled with emotion the songs sing of passion and evoke the strongest feelings. Seven of the songs are written about famous bullfighters beginning with the "Lorenzo Garza", "Juan Silveti", the great Spaniard "Carlos Arruza", "Capetillo", "Fermin", "Curro Venzor" and the recently departed great Mexican "Silverio" Perez. The homage to La Fiesta Brava and it's best proponents is a thing of beauty. The songs are quite famous amongst aficionados of bullfighting and most recently given new life by ballroom dancing. Not being into ballroom dancing I was surprised to hear pasodobles being used on a television show my wife was watching and had to take a peak. I was surprised but the music does lend itself to dancing quite well. This explains why this is the top selling mariachi disc at Amazon as of this writting. I am sure Maraich Vargas is quite pleased now even though this vintage release was not intended for ballroom dancing but rather for aficionados of La Fiest Brava. Mariachi Vargas is arguably the best mariachi group in the world and you can't go wrong with these interpretations. The arrangements are the best as are the chosen musicians. If you are in the Mariachi Vargas it is because you are the best at what you do. I would recommend this disc for anyone into ballroom dancing or if you just like mariachi or La Fierta Brava.

    5 out of 5 stars Classic Mariachi.......2004-01-27

Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan are known as the best mariachi in the world, and it is definitely for a reason. The musicianship is tight, with all of the guitars, trumpets, and strings executed perfectly and beautifully. The beauty, quality, and precision of this recording is so well-executed that one could very well mistake the songs for being performed by an entire orquestra (as opposed to what is really an ancient folk ensemble)! That being said, one must understand a little bit about the pasodoble before really understanding the album. Pasodobles are Spanish marches that traveled to Latin America during the existence of the vast Spanish empire. It thrived in many different Spanish colonies, particularly those in which the old Spanish tradition of bullfighting was popular; however, both bullfighting and the pasodoble became extremely prolific in Mexico. Today, the pasodoble exists as both the traditional music for bullfights as well as a type of song used for ballroom dancing. The songform itself is very interesting; it seems to be a fusion of North African/Moorish melodies with western rhythms and instrumentation. It is particularly beautiful when played by a mariachi ensemble, of which it seems almost made for. In fact, most mariachi groups include at least a few pasodobles in their sets. The song "Lorenzo Garza" makes a perfect introduction to the album, functioning as a strong beckon to the listener. "Por Tapatias" boasts an impressive opening trumpet, and the famous "Juan Silveti" is perhaps the most exciting song on the album, with it's slightly brooding mood. Also, "La Machicha" is a nice addition as well, as it is perhaps one of the "cutest" pasodobles ever composed. Of course, this is all made possible by the capable hands of the world-renown Mariachi Vargas. For a good taste of old Mexico, this is an excellent album of beautiful and exciting music, and a wonderful addition to the many excellent recordings of Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan. Classic mariachi in its entirety!

Love the duet between Jordan and Deborah on "Say Goodbye".
I mentioned to Jordan back in 2002 about doing a duet with her and he followed through with it. great move! great album!

    5 out of 5 stars ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!.......2007-05-05

I HAVE TO SAY THAT ALTHOUGH MOST OF THESE ARE COVERS, I PREFER JORDAN SINGING THESE SONGS THAN THE ORIGINAL ARTISTS. HE IS SO VERY TALENTED AND I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL HE RELEASES ANOTHER CD. I GET LOST IN THIS CD EVERY TIME I LISTEN TO IT. I LOVE HIS OWN SONGS ON HERE TOO. THEY ARE AMAZING AND HIS FALSETTO MAKES ME MELT!!! XOXOXO

5 out of 5 stars You will be blown away.......2007-03-20

This album is a relaxing mix of new songs and remakes of classics. Jordan shows his creative side by writing his new songs and proves that remakes don't always suck. It is a must have for any New Kids On The Block fan or anyone looking for a cd to pop on to help them unwind.

3 out of 5 stars Not Too Bad.......2007-03-08

I'm not a big fan of romantic songs in general, but I was a huge NKOTB fan back in the day, so I decided to give this a try. I have to say that I was surprised at how good the CD was. Jordan's orginal songs were ok, but the best part of the CD was his covers. His interpretation of the covers on the CD were surprisingly well done. His voice has developed really well, and now he just needs some direction on choice of songs. I would check this out for a romantic evening.

    5 out of 5 stars Outstanding.......2007-02-08

I feel that this cd by Jordan Knight was very well done. After hearing this cd I went and bought Jordan Knight, The Fix and the NKOTB Remix Album by Jordan Knight. All of them are excellent!

    4 out of 5 stars Blades's Dark Horse.......2003-09-16

This is Ruben Blades's "dark horse" recording. A disc full of political allusions and full of the pain of loss (his mother had recently passed away). Standouts on this disc are: Apagon (Blackout), which criticizes both the American invasion of Panama but also the corrupt Panamanian society that accepted it; Cilindro (Cylinder), which chronicles the true story of an energy company that dumps nuclear waste in the Chilean countryside; and Adan Garcia, the bitter-sweet story of a desparate poor man trying to get out of his poverty; and West Indian Man, which talks about his own English/Caribbean roots--his grandfather was English (contrary to what many Spanish speakers insist Ruben's last name is pronounced in English, not "BLAH-des; this fact comes from Ruben himself in an interview on National Public Radio)

Blades's music, though based in salsa and Afro-Latin rhythms, is not for dancing, but steadfast contemplation and social action.

5 out of 5 stars No muy conocida, pero extraordinaria.......1999-02-07

5 out of 5 stars Great showcase of an outstanding voice........2001-09-18

This one is slick! I have several of Chente's recordings and they
are all very good. He is most loved for his more macho rancheras
found on many of his other collections, yet it is in this group of 15 ballads that I feel he most expertly uses the top end of his legendary voice to add just the right touch. These songs showcase the full spectrum of his amazing voice in a very smooth but powerfully impressive way. If I could find any fault in some of his rancheras (hard to do) it would be that the top end of his vocals are used a bit too much, and thus do not sound as dramatic as they can in his more balanced tunes. This is not a consideration in this group of tunes. The musicianship is excellent and Vicente's vocals are without comparison. His power and clarity seem to be effortless and he uses the full range to really paint a musical picture in each song.
Most awesome are the catchy tunes "Me Basta", "Preso" and "Todo Se Derrumbo Dentro De Mi" ...and the other twelve! There really are no duds on the disc. I know some Vicente purists will think I'm strange for preferring this disc to some of his other greats but believe me, this is one awesome display of his greatness and an enduring listen. Give it a shot, it's a nice change of pace for Chente fans.

    5 out of 5 stars Great!.......1999-07-26

Great! This CD is great, however, I believe that it is wrongly classified as Vicente's 1st CD. I have his first record. It was titled "La Voz Que Usted Esperaba" and includes such hits as "La Copa Rota." Vicente sings it like no other.

Jose does this set with the heart of a Mexican. There is not a single song that is in the cd as just a fill in. He blows fellow Puerto Rican Luis Miguel away. Luis just does not have the heart to do ranchera music. You will not be disappointed with this cd.

Ah, now this is a keeper! Very melodic, wonderful lyrics. Definitely pack this with you on your next vacation to Las Brisas in Acapulco. You and your significant other will be charmed by Jose's ballads. I am so thankful for receiving this as a gift, very nice!

5 out of 5 stars Feliciano does it again with a superb album of Mexican music.......2004-09-25

This is another great album from the master vocalist and legendary guitarist. This album furthermore proves once again that Feliciano is pefectly comfortable in any style of music. I have never been keen on Mexcian music but the way Jose sings evey song is really outstanding. He (like always) puts so much feeling and emotion with everything that he sings that this time is no exception. He feels every note that he sings like if it was coming from his heart. Feliciano is such a professional that no musical style is impossible for him. His voice and guitar is equally brilliant although on this album his legendary guitar playing is in the background due to the Mariachi Sol De Mexico that backs him up in every song on this CD. This is a great album and as I said before Jose Feliciano is after 40 years of staying power in the tough music industry a leader and a living legend and a musician of superb talent and showmanship.
