Lo mejor de Olga.......2007-03-27

Nunca he sido de esos fanaticos aferrados de Olga Tañon, pero sin lugar a dudas desde "Sola" hasta "Soy como tu" este es el mejor cd que ha lanzado Olga. El escogido de temas perfecto, las fotos perfectas, los arreglos divinos. El disco lo lanzó en 1993 y yo lo escucho a cada rato como si fuera nuevo.

Those familiar with Olga Tanon's recent albums may not recognize her in Mujer De Fuego, released in the early 90s. Her voice is much higher and more girlish, and the merengue style might seem today a bit old-fashioned.

It is worth getting past that, because Mujer de Fuego is a very enjoyable album, and for real merengue lovers, more satisfying than her more pop oriented style today.

Even better is her next album, Siente el Amor, where she reached her full maturity as a singer.

As merengue goes, this is top shelf. Tracks 1,5 and 7 are the strongest.....

The musicians perform to perfection, particularly the brass punctuation.Technically excellent merengue, with some slight slips on the conga, but almost unnoticeable.
