I expected more of this CD. Some songs are good for dance but not all of disc. I understand that today some music is different that years ago. However, is good.

This CD is definetly better than the last CD "In The Room" from 2004. This CD is a perfect mix of merengue, reggaetón, salsa, and bachata. "La Monta Buena" sets a hip, smooth mood with reggaetón and then "Te Necesito" and "Una Noche De Amor" jumps off the album with some salsa bachata heat. "Mátame" is the only real ballad, which I find okay. "La Otra" is a wonderful bachata song and "Cojelo Suave" is a great reggaetón track. "Dale Lento" is an irresistble salsa track that one must dance to! "Me Tienes" I really could not put a genre on, but, I really don't like this song like the others. "Como Puedo" is a better ballad, with a bachata rhythm, compared to "Mátame". And, the merengue finally saves the heat of the album in the end with "Ooh Ay" and "Si Te Picas". "Pa Nosotros" is okay, I like the version on "In The Room" (CD) better and "Pa La Olvidoso" is an awesome track para la máquinta! Es indispensable que condujas con esta canción en la coche! Otherwise, it is really hard to stop from dancing to this album and "Me Tienes" serves as a good break track if needed anyway. I could see many of these tracks being popular at a dance club. So, I suggest for anyone who likes merengue, bachata, salsa, and reggaetón. I especially suggest this CD (and "In The Room") for someone who is new to the Latin world of music. The blend of the music styles are very natural and this CD is definately like the "next step" from "In The Room". Buy this CD!

Los illegales cometen el crimen de mezclar romance y calle.......2005-03-24

Yo pase a oir la cuarta cancion "como tu" y la encontre muy buena, y al oir otra cancion de otro disco con Johnny Ventura yo esperaba algo parecido a Fulanito, que es decir una combinacion de rap, reggeaton, y merengue.
Pues, estuve parcialmente correcto. Pero cuando el disco siguio empeze a oir baladas como parecidas a algo tocado por Franky J, o alguien en la ducha del gimnasio creyendose Franky J. Tal como no se mezcla el agua con el aceite, el romantico con callejero no mezclan tampoco.
Pero no todo es malo aqui. Hay varias canciones con buenos ritmos de merengue, reggeaton, etc acompan~ados con buenas letras. El grupo tiene potencial, pero tienen que dejar eso de romanticos porque parecen ridiculos haciendolo.

I Bought the new cd from los Ilegales in my local Walmart about a couple weeks ago or maybe longer. I am going to tell you that these guys have not lost their touch. I have been following Los Ilegales since their first cd and they have not dissapointed me yet. The group is 3 guys again but the main thing their still making hip hoping non stoping music that make you want to shake your Bon Bon. You got to bye their new work if you are a big time fan of Los Ilegales. Thanks.

Ilegales en concierto: 04 tracks muy completos. Ojalá pudieran conseguirse los originales en estudio ya que de Ilegales vale tener la colección. Para quien no los conoce es tremenda muestra de su música. Conseguir sus cd's se hace una ardua tarea actualmente. Es justicia darles el valor que tienen como musicos (sobretodo porque en America Latina no fueron tan populares como sus coterraneos Hombres G y de paso, son confundidos constantemente con los Ilegales de RD cuando uno busca su música). En mi opinión este cd es totalmente recomendable.

Este album es excelente, tiene todos sus clasicos de su punk/pop/rock espanol. Uno de los mejores albumes de este genero. Que pena que en una critica anterior mencione que solo trae 4 canciones. Realmente son 4 tracks, pero cada track tiene 4 o 5 canciones unidas porque es en concierto. Como sea es muuuuy recomendable para quienes siguieron la musica de ellos.

Hard not to dance, but there's even better merengue hip-hop.......2004-05-30

Ilegales and Proyecto Uno were the two musical ensembles behind the birth of Merengue Hip-Hop, a genre that resulted from the rapping of lyrics over a merengue baseline. This is a music you can't help but dance to, and this album by Ilegales is no exception to that, however, it's not their best. "Taqui Taqui," "Como Un Trueno" and "Dame De Eso" save the album, but their 'En La Mira' album is far better, and if you want to explore the genre further, don't leave out 'New Era,' by Proyecto Uno as well.

Catch this group live!.......2001-07-14

Was hired to fill in for a missing member of the Ilegales horn section at the All Star Gala in Seattle this week, and became an instant fan of the group. I was previously totally unaware of Ilegales, and (in general) the evolution of merengue and the blending of Dominican Republic rhythms with hip hop/soka/funk. The band leader gave me a work CD to learn the tunes (had about an hour to do it - tough stuff!), and I can't stop listening to it, especially track 5, "Una Nena", which is a classic, burnin' funk tune. Although heavily (but thoughtfully) produced and sequenced, the band manages to produce a powerful (and seemingly spontaneous) live groove, which also comes through on the CD. Catch 'em, if you can, and you'll see what I mean. You, too, will be sweatin' in no time!

Un trabajo legítimo.......2001-02-08

Los que han dicho que este grupo no duraría se están tragando sus palabras. Este último CD de los Ilegales, "On Time" confirma que este grupo seguirá teniendo éxito gracias a sus pegajosos ritmos y madurez artística. "On Time" nos hace saber que estos muchachos no son solamente embajadores del "hip-hop" sino que tienen talento y saben aprovechar las tendencias del mercado.

Afortunadamente, el grupo no olvida sus raices y este CD también trae los esperados y movidísimos ritmos que los han hecho famosos ("Una copa de licor" está destinada a ser su próximo éxito), pero también varias cositas nuevas. Con su inesperada pero ya exitosa balada "Tu recuerdo" (a la Son by Four), los Ilegales nos dejan saber que también saben ser románticos y sin duda ganarán miles de fans nuevos, aun con un integrante menos.

Ilegales es un grupo que alegra cualquier fiesta y que ha pasado por la prueba de fuego. Si le gusta alguno de sus éxitos, le gustará este CD que está lleno de sorpresas y sabor.
