I was originally looking for another cd and Amazon.com gives you other choices that you might like that are similar to your original search. I am so glad I took the time to look at the other choices because I found Azucar, ordered it, and it is my favorite cd I have purchased this year so far. The music is simply amazing!

I was introduced to this CD (tape then) by a massage therapist I worked with as a teenager up and I have owned it ever since and every time I think of accustic guitar I think of this CD because it is wonderful in so many ways! This CD will make you want to learn how to play guitar!~ Enjoy.

I bought this CD while on vacation in Cabo and have loved it ever since. Great blend of Spanish guitar, with overtones of Flamenco and Brazilian influences. Buy it and play it at your next get-together with friends and I guarantee someone will ask you where you got it. If you're also looking for another artist along similar lines, I recommend Govi.

Best Flamenco Album of Azucar Moreno.......2006-03-20

Azucar Moreno is a Spanish band with 2 lead lady singers. I first came across this group in the flamenco movie "El Amor Brugo" - the original classic music is composed by De Falla, a Spanish composer. Via Amazon I was able to purchase 4 albums by Azucar Moreno. The Exitos Originales album has the true Flamenco pop music - it also features the song "Azucar Moreno" that appears in the movie I spoke of. The other tracks are similar in nature and could have been part of that movie. This makes the album vary Flamenco balanced.

Imagine a mix of The Toasters, Joe Ely, Khaled, Les Negresses Vertes, and Tito Puente and you might get a vague notion about this Argentine pop band. Lots of horns, loud electric guitars, fat funky bass, and a varied Latin and rock percussion sound give the record lots of spice. They also offer some star power on this record: Mick Jones of the Clash tosses off a few lines. Big Youth toasts. Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz produce. Debbie Harry is lost in the mix on a strange take of "Strawberry Fields Forever." Rey Azucar is a great album cause people get crazy on the floor when they listen to "Mal Bicho". Sometimes mixes of different music sound a bit artificial but the cadillacs, as a latin band, have the perfect ability to mix raggamuffin, reggae and salsa. Viva los Cadillacs !

In their lyrics Los Fabulosos Cadillacs cover a great deal of social taboos, ranging from AIDS to racism, but do so in a haunting, intelligent, if not responsible manner. The ARgentine band is not a foolish loudmouth seeker of limelight. "Mal Bicho" sets things going on the dance floor with the LFC's characteristic blend of hot mambo, ska, and rock. Other party tracks include the wonderfully nutty "Raggapunkypartyrebelde". Other highlits include a cool duet with Debbie Harry "Strwaberry Field's Forver (John Lennon)", and so many other memorable songs. Get into the rebelious spirit!

Great Argentine rock album!.......1998-11-21

This album is really peppy - it's one of those CDs that will wake you up and get you revved up to greet the day! Los Fabulosos Cadillacs continue their original Argentine rock style in this excellent album. This is not airy pop, it's energetic, unique rock. "Mal Bicho" is their best-known song on this album, and it will not disappoint, especially if you like "Matador."

Olé indeed!.......2003-07-02

This is the first Azucar Moreno album I bought, and after buying four others, this is still the best (Amen comes close). Hugely danceable, excellent production, inventive arrangements. Wonderful flamenco guitar and strings. "Flamenco" is the standout highlight for me, but all the tracks are very strong. "Mecachis", "Ole" and "No Pretendaras" come close. Even "Comeme la Piel", which another reviewer commented in, burrows into your sub-concious with some delicious rhythm tracks. We have had this album on auto-repeat on long car journeys and it keeps everyone in a great mood for hours.

The Salazar Sisters follow-up album to their multi-platinum selling "Esclava de tu piel" was titled "Ole." Many people thought that they wouldn't be capable of matching such success and categorized them as plastic longshots that only used their image to sell cd's...They were proved wrong!
In 1998, two years after the release of "Esclava DTP",they released their master piece "OLE". This CD can be judged as SERIOUS WORK from its cover and even more after listening to the opening track. Unlike previous albums from AM, this one featured all original songs specially made for them. All the songs were wonderfully arranged from beginning to end with a showcase of enjoyable latin rythms and lyrics with uplifting feelings. The "heavy hitters" from this album were "Ole" and "Mecachis"in summer 1998 and were remixed by well known Pablo Flores, however they are just an opening to an enjoyable journey to a latin dream. I would even dare to say it is one of the best latin cd's out there.
Its been four years since I purchased this CD and it never fails to uplift me every time I feel down...Love it...

Buy it! If you're a fan of maravillosa musica Latina, then this CD is for you. It has everything you could want from Jazz tunes to flamenco tunes all done with Azucar Moreno's beautiful voices. These two are simply the best singers I've ever listened to in my entire life! Get this CD! You won't be disappointed, I promise you!

Olé - they did it again!.......2000-05-28

This is the sisters' 9th album and I must say it ranges to me as their very best album to date. You pretty much know what to expect when you buy an Azúcar Moreno album, and that's catchy Latin tunes, delivered with fire & passion by Toñi & Encarna. "Olé" is such a great opening track, a very danceable hymn to Spain. "Mecachis" is the 2nd single off the album, followed by the cha-cha "Ande yo caliente", the soft, highly romantic "Suave", then a bomb for the dance floor: "Flamenco" which could easily have been a single. The somewhat more average "Cómeme la piel a besos" follows, then comes "Dime que me quieres" which to me ranges as their finest recording so far, a pleading, jazzy tune with an incredibly infectious chorus! I love it! "Ese beso" is also a strong favorite. On "Agua que no has de beber" they return to the Latin sound again, although it's spiced with a break with Flamenco guitars and very Flamenco strings. Also a highlight of the album! "Cumbaya" is classic Azúcar, a great Latin dance track. The low-key, melancholic "Apaga y vámonos" which is a story about a forbidden love affair that's being discovered by a private detective, is also among my (many) favorites of this album. On the closing track "No pretenderás", Toñi & Encarna bring in their whole family to perform an authentic fiery Flamenco track. Great album - it's 15 years after their very first album, and they sound better than ever. I sure have high expectations to their all-new album "Amén" ...
