This one really swings.......2007-07-17

I love this album. No filler material, it swings from the beginning to the end. The cuts are mostly guanguancos. The sound quality is good considering a recording of 1965. You can also check the subsequent Tommy Olivencia albums which are very good as well (Jala Jala y Guaguanco, Fire-Fire, A Toda Maquina).

A good debut album but suffers from terrible sound quality........2003-07-18

This was Tommy Olivencia's first album and featured the lead vocals of Chamaco Ramirez and Paquito Guzman. While the music itself is very good, the sound quality is just terrible. This CD was poorly remastered from an LP (clicks, pops and vinyl surface noise are ever-present).

This compilation has the same songs that the 2 disc Oro Salsero has. This is volume 1 it is disc 1 if you buy volume two you will have the same 20 songs as the Oro Salsero for a lot cheaper price.

Tommy Olivencia introduced Frankie Ruiz and Carlos Alexis on this 1982 release. Spearheaded by the ever-popular "Primero Fui Yo", this was one of Olivencia's best-selling 1980s releases. Other noteworthy tracks were "La Suplicante" and "Fantasia De Un Carpintero".

Olivencia's most eclectic and most versatile project........2003-08-17

This was Olivencia's fourth Inca release and features Paquito Guzman and Sammy Gonzalez on lead vocals. This album not only featured the standard guaguanco-derived salsa numbers and boleros but also calypso and other Afro-Caribbean (non-Hispanic)influences thus making this a very interesting and eclectic album.

Great deal of compositions, true late '70s example of big band tropical music. I recommend this album to those that are looking for a grat musicians essmble. 8 songs of this album hitted the radio stations back then. It is the tipical Olivencia arrengements along with former FANIA arrenger Luis Perico Ortiz. You can catch som musical varions from other counties not only Puert Rican or Cuban. Learn how the second oldest salsa band from Puerto Rico achieved their solid reputation in the early 80s.
