I have played many many similar records during 32 years;
I have VERY seldom admired musical renditions as I experienced
what I felt when listening to several pieces in this Di Blasio
CD like "Here We Are" "Caminito" and "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" which are really outstanding. Every one of this CD
is very well done but this is NO SURPRISE when one compares
Di Blasio technique to ANY OTHER pianists.. This man is ALWAYS
a complete musical experience because NOT only his style so
rich and compact but the accompaniments are brilliant.Just take
"Bridge Over Troubled Waters" and specially the CHOIR element
is superb.Another factor is really something important to consider: I cannot remember another artist who can threat an instrument with the excelence Di Blasio can and who is SO
UNegoistic because almost always lets other sections glow
while he stays in the background.
I have listened to literally thousands of records during many many years and can only wonder WHY SO MANY were distinguished
with a 5 STAR rating BUT comparing to those,THIS DI BLASIO CD should merit at least 6 STARs...

How many fingers does this guy have? 1 ? The song selection is very original. The selection ranges from Serrat's Penelope to Juan Gabriel's Amor Eterno. It is the latter version that Di Blasio does not do justice to the remarkable song even with an orchestra backing him.
I recommend you check out other pianists that do contemporary music like Clayderman,the cuban Enrique Chia, and Giovanni. They go beyond one finger piano playing.

FORCE IN EVERY SONG!.......2001-02-09

Although is not the best of his albums, this one keeps the strength of the artist in every song. A very eclectic album, if you wanna know something about popular songs in other countries
