This poetic and melodic CD is lovely, and every song tells its story with sensitivity and a unique vision, and the topics are diverse...from a paean to married love ("Para Saber de Amor"), to one about a transexual, "Se Equivoco el Azar".
It's a very mellow album, with even tempos throughout, which makes it ideal for quiet listening, or as background music for a romantic dinner. Many of the lyrics are so wonderful they could stand alone as poems.

His smoky voice is extremely pleasing, and the arrangements and musicianship superb. The booklet insert contains all the lyrics, and the total time is 38:44.
The mystery is why Perales has not received wider acclaim...where are his Grammy Awards !
He's a true artist, evolving as the years go by, to ever more beauty and wisdom.
Also highly recommended is "Perales", a 2-disc set of 30 songs, every one a gem.

Not as good as before.......2001-02-26

I have listened to Jose Luis Perales as long as I remember and I was always impressed by the music, the words and the voice of this spanish singer!

I treasure every work he has done cause it is a masterpiece all his work until, the latest cd:

It seems to me that, he has become more romantic than before! Before, he used to sing songs with a message that i even cry with the words he wrote. The songs in this new work is not as intense in message as the previews works. There are a couple of songs like, Me han contado que existe un paraiso, is without a doubt, the best in this cd!

I will continue being a good fan of him but, i wish he could go back to when he started with songs like, Para Vosotros Canto, Nana Para Mi Madre, etc.

Another masterpiece by the poet, Jose Luis Perales!.......2001-02-05

Jose Luis Perales, already a renown poet in his own right, has painstaikingly crafted another disc replete with lovely sentiments and wonderful melodies. Since Perales composes all of the music and lyrics himself, it never ceases to amaze me how diverse and rich his repertoire is. This collection includes ten thought-provoking, heart-felt ballads.

In the title cut,"Me Han Contado que Existe un Paraiso," Perales reassures his listeners that Paradise is just a heartbeat away, while gently admonishing those who are not on the narrow path that leads to this celestial Kingdom. He reminds us that the narrowing of Heaven's path is only proportional to our greed as we attempt to amass fortunes that hold no value in the hereafter.

In "De No Ser Lo Que Soy," he eloquently and expertly describes all those things he would like to be if he were not what he is. He argues that to be born, only to endure a life of interminable suffering, is illogical; consequently, he yearns to eliminate the pain and misery that our disenfranchised brothers and sisters must bear.

In "Para Saber del Amor," he refutes the notion that one must kiss many lips and caress many hands to fully understand the meaning of true love. Indeed, Perales' philosophical perspective on romantic love reduces this phenonemenon's complexity to its very essence: it is not in loving many half-heartedly, but in loving only one all the way, that one finds the true meaning of love, which is the richest of GOD's perfect gifts.

The other seven songs complement and complete this excellent collection.
