Outstanding. BUY THIS ALBUM.......2007-05-13

I first learned of Zoe a couple of years ago when I happened to see of one their videos on Spanish MTV and was immediately blown away. Their music really doesn't feel "Latin" at all and is more reminiscent of bands like Radiohead, Nirvana, Pulp, and Interpol than well known Latin bands like Mana. In fact, I would say their music generally blows the aformentioned anglo bands out of the water.

This album is no exception and is probably Zoe's finest to date. It's not as poppy or Beatlesesque as some of their previous works (ie, like "Love"). Instead, it has a feel that is darker, more nuanced, and layered (more like their song "Miel," for those of you who've heard it). There are some outstanding songs on this album, Memo Rex, No Me Destruyas, Paz, and Via Lactea being some of my favorites. And in addition to having great songs, the album hangs together well - each song stands on its own while fitting in well with the album as a whole.

I have no idea how well known Zoe is in Latin America, but it's a shame they are not better known in the U.S. The fact that they're not so well known is probably just an indicator of how closed and U.S.-centric music tastes tend to be in the U.S.

At any rate, this album is fantastic and is highly recommended. To those looking for their more poppy side, I'd recommend their earlier albums though.

El mejor album de Zoe hasta la fecha.......2007-03-01

Despues de cuatro anos de escuchar a Zoe, este es definitivamente el mejor disco de la banda. De nuevo Leon nos presenta una estelar voz y el resto de la banda el arte de sus estrumentos.

Este album se ha convertido en uno de mis favoritos, y lo seleccione como el mejor album del ano 2006. Se lo recomiendo a cualquier persona amante de la musica rock en espanol. En realidad, este album ya es un clasico entre este genero.

Zoe lo volvio a hacer!

yeah, Zoe make you wish your corazon was atomico. very anglo in style (it's often more interesting when artists from Latin America can insert some of their own musical tradtions into their musical style) but there is beautiful imagery in the lyrics and the songs get stuck in your head. i recommend it to anyone who might enjoy rock en espanol or brit pop, with a Mexican twist. i've had it on constant repeat for months.

Each song is a trip in space, in the heart and emotions.
Via Lactea, No Me Destruyas and Nunca are soon to be part of classic Spanish Rock.
Is a great produced album with greater sound of music.

Amazing.......2007-03-30

Ok, I'll first start off by saying that I have a very limited spanish vocabulary, but the music, vocals, and beats are amazing! I listen to this cd when I'm designing and it's the perfect cd to listen to as you come home from work! I origianlly bought this off iTunes, amazed that they had it, but failed to back up my purchased music! The only cd I was really longing to get was this one! So instead of buying online, I held out for the real deal, and went with amazon.com. Truly amazing! Oh, their second is good, but not as perfect in arrangment as this one.

Cuando escuche dulce beat crei que seria dificil de superar por otro de sus trabajos. Pero este que es su primer album y en mi opinion es mejor que dulce beat. este album es mas electronico y cada cancion es un viaje atravez de la mejor musica pop, house y electronica. en Cocktail hay canciones mas del estilo de me pregunto, escena final y soñar. tambie si has escuchado "Confessions on a Dancefloor" de madonna tiene cortes muy parecidos (y este album salio en el 2003). **Y...** es una de mis favoritas muy parecida a "get together" de Madonna, es una lastima que nunca la hayan cantado en vivo. **TUS OJOS** es de las mejores canciones de Belanova tan increible como por ti y en mi opinion el mejor sencillo de Belanova. **WHAT A SHAME** es una delicia de con un ritmo house y que termina al final con un ritmo parecido a I Feel Love de Donna Summer. Todo el disco es buenisimo pero los tracks que vale la pena mencionar es -aun asi te vas(un tema muy funky como denisse lo describe)-apaga la luz( un tema super sensual)-suele pasar(una cancion muy dance de despecho) y arena el ultimo track que cierra el album de una manera perfecta. Todo fan de belanova y sin duda de la musica pop debe adquirir Cocktail y seguir disfrutando del dulce y exquisito beat de Belanova.

Zoe o la perfecta colision del rock acido con la electronica sideral.......2007-04-11

Tal vez la idea musical de Zoe no sea nueva, pero creo que su sonido es excelente, muy bien logrado. En este segundo album, a mi parecer nos entregan un disco mejor logrado que el primero, con arreglos y canciones mas ricos y variados (de pronto guitarras estridentes, acidas, combinadas con toques electronicos muy bien medidos, sin caer en los excesos)... sin mencionar las a veces un tanto oscuras e interesantes letras de sus canciones, la mayoria en español y algunas en ingles. Ademas el arte de "tapa" (o de librito, mas bien) es excelente, muy acorde al estilo de Zoe. No conozco mucho del tema, pero supongo que tienen fuertes influencias de rock britanico actual y tambien "Beatlesco" al menos en el track "Love" creo que es evidente. Mis favoritas: "Peace and Love", "Love", "Fotosintesis", "Veneno"... realemente creo que no hay mucho desperdicio en este disco, creo que es muy bueno de principio a fin.
Zoe es, para mi gusto, un muy digno representante del rock mexicano actual (si no es que el mejor)... muy recomendable.

"leche" junto con caifanes, soda, cafeta, aterciopelados y heroes tienen los mejores discos de rock en espanol, este disco muestra la madurez de fobia en ese momento, en mi opinion el mejor disco de fobia, las letras son bastantes divertidas y muy originales y musicalmente de lo mejor que se ha oido un disco para todo buen coleccionista.

I Don't Understand a Thing They're Saying.......2003-06-07

.....and that ain't a bad thing. Like any truly great rock and roll record, we make our own meanings for the lyrics, the songs, and how they apply to our lives. Dang me If I can figure out any of the lyrics to "Louie Louie" if ya know what I mean. Anyway, I picked this up with a slew of other "rock espanol" discs about ten years ago. I ditched most of them, but this one.....this one. This one was a keeper. I've heard their other stuff (I dunno who they are, where they went, or why they've released so little)and that stuff is good- but this one is by far my favorite. I've heard them compared to lots of bands, but personally I hear hints of Jane's Addiction more than anything else- still, that is even a pigeon hole they don't fit into well. Suffice to say, this is an incredible outing- in any language that is rock, and I'm pleased as punch that I accidentally fell into this one.

Bowie meets Aquabats in Spanish???.......1998-12-21

This is a decent recording, with some downright kinky and weird songs. Reasons to buy this CD include: the lead singer's David Bowie-like voice, the wacky tracks like "Los Cibernoides" and "Maten al DJ." Still, this isn't exactly one of the best albums out there. Numerous songs are dull and forgettable. Despite its limitations, if you like funny songs or punk music in Spanish, it might be worth checking out.

Some of the group's nuttiest songs are on "Leche": "Los Cibernoides," por ejemplo, is a crazy sci-fi theme: "los cibernoides vinieron, tu cerebro se comieron, pero se lo vamos a quitar..." Las canciones tienen el compas rico y poderoso, como siempre. Good album.

Fobia are back and yes better then ever. I think all of Fobia's music and albums are terrific, they are ultimately one of the best Spanish rock bands to come out of Mexico! Their new album is hit after hit after hit, all the songs are great, listenable and enjoyable, it is worth the time and effort to buy, you won't be disappointed. Viva Fobia!

Yo no se que paso con fobia, parece que su tan esperado regreso paso sin pena ni gloria, la verdad este disco deja mucho que desear, me parece el peor de su carrera, yo esperaba mucho mas de esta super banda de rock mexicano, una de las mejores sin lugar a duda, pero este disco realmente decepciona a cualquier fan de fobia, sus producciones pasadas son clasicos dentro del rock en espanol, grandes pilares, pero esto la verdad es una gran decepcion, ojala y su siguiente album sea mucho mejor que este.

el disco rosa venus de fobia ha sido sin lugar a dudas el lanzamiento mas esperado del 2005.
y afortunadamente han hecho honor a la reputacion que los precede al presentarnos el mejor disco de toda su carrera.
creo que con este disco queda claro que la distancia entre leonardo de lozanne y cualquier otro vocalista de rock mejicano puede, a partir de ahora, medirse ya no en metros, sino que en kilometros. muy impresionante.
sobre las composiciones de paco huidobro creo que ya no hay nada que pueda decirse.....maestro.
el senor cha! hace el uso magistral del bajo al que nos ha tenido siempre acostumbrados.
inaki se destaca como nunca antes. y lo hace de una forma......
finalmente el multifacetico jay de la cueva logra el importante hito de grabar todo un disco de material inedito como baterista de fobia. hasta este punto debe haber sido un poco dificil tomar posesion definitiva de esa posicion. pero lo ha hecho en gran forma.
fobia es mi grupo favorito y hace mucho tiempo que no sentia esa ansiedad por tener un disco en mis manos. es una gran sensacion!!
normalmente en esta parte de mi resena habria indicado las que a mi parecer son las mejores canciones pero en este caso, en justicia, eso no puede hacerse. sencillamente no hay ni una sola cancion de relleno en este disco. yo habria podido escoger cualquiera de estas canciones como primer sencillo, no necesariamente "no eres yo".
ojala que puedan superar el pasado y sigan regalandonos la mejor musica en espanol del mundo por muchas decadas mas.
