One very well made album.......2004-12-31

In the year 77 Jose Jose broke the mold with Volcan. in 1979 he repeated that. Jose Maria Napolion is one of the least known but great lyrisits from Mexico, as well as Composers from that magical land. His Mientas LLueve and Tu Primera Vez are great songs, and Lo Que No Fue No Sera from another Jose Jose album is just as great, where I would recomend for one to hear Napoleon himself singing his songs of Vive and Pajarillo as well as Hombre, plus Lina Verde. On this album Jose Jose sings some great songs such as Manuel Alejandro's Sera and Rafael Perez Botija's Rosa de Fuego, plus a good version of the old Bollero of Franqueza which Pedro Vargas made so legendary, long ago.
The title track of Si Me Dejas Ahora is a great song, with it having a grand Rock Guitar at the end, that is very well designed, while as for Candy it is a moody songs that is also a good dance song. He Sido is a dark and foreboding song, but it is also a romantic song, with it reminding one that this was when Jose Jose was at his best.
As for Linda Disco one commentater hated it, well I say that it is a moody and happy song. It is a Party song and I tell you that in Mexico, Fiesta is in the air always, even in the worst of times. This is a song that I can say is a breath of fresh air in joyfull feelings, although there were Disco songs that were too much and especially in perversion. This song however and a few others from that era in Mexico were innocent, and songs of just happy times, in an era of corruption and decit in Mexico at the time; so that the people could just forget thier troubles just for a while.

This 1979 release was one of Jose Jose's most popular albums of the decade and featured production and songwriting from Camilo Sesto, Rafael Perez-Botija, Napoleon and others. The immensely popular title track was responsible for the album's strong sales but "Mientras Llueve", "Rosa De Fuego" and "Tu Primera Vez" were the real standouts. Avoid the closing track (the disco-rock number "Linda Disco")- it's simply ludicrous.
