5 out of 5 stars Rebeldia adolecente.......2006-03-11

Bombon (4/5): De tempo rapido, ritmo electronico y letra medio tonta.

Excelente cancion.

Media naranja (4/5): De ritmo medio pop/dance, tempo medio rapido y letra medio tonta (tu mi media salchicha ;) jejeje).

Tirando a matar (4/5): De ritmo dance y tempo rapido. Letra tonta y adolecente.

5 out of 5 stars When was the last time music made you cry? .......2005-06-06

I'm blown away by this CD. They don't really make bubblegum pop anymore. I didn't start listening to music until I was 17. Yes, that late. I always hated, hated, hated the sound of rock, especially classic rock. Their scratchy, noisy, screamy voices and nonsensical guitar soloing just hurts the ears beyond compare. I tried for years to make myself like it, but it just didn't happen. The first music to catch my ear was Asian pop. It was thumping technoish music, and my heart pounded from start to finish with bliss. But that music has since went more towards rap and R & B, and again I was left without a music I could call my own. The pop sound- that's what I'm looking for. The smacking beat and bright, upbeat, ultra-catchy melody is what I call real music. I heard a lot of Latin artists like Paulina (another one of my favorites), but not all of her music is pure pop. Some of it sounds traditional, with a lot of trumpets. That's where Fey comes in. Interestingly, Amazon references her with other Latin artists, such as Paulina. This is pure pop. I can't really give a favorite, since all of these are just awesome and entrancing, and when music is this awesome, the ballads are amazing, too. I do like track 11 immensely. I know there's a stigma with plastic music, but remember, this type of music is ran through the computers until it's perfect AND, they enlist the help of only the most talented songwriters. These are people who do nothing but write music, these ingenious melodies. A 10 year-old CD that outdoes most stuff made today. Better late than never!

5 out of 5 stars Great Start.......2005-02-09

I remember the first time I heard Fey was her MEDIA NARANJA hit, but I didn't see her until her ME ENAMORO DE TI VIDEO came out. Little did I know this was going to be one of the most influencal latin artist of the 90's. This powerhouse CD, with catchy tracks like "Bombon," "La Noche Se Mueve," and "Fiebre De Sabado." You also get to hear some pop-sould with "Gatos En El Balcon" and "Bailando Bajo La Lluvia." With great a track list and remixes to follow, this is a great 90's pop music CD by a great nice young latin icon.

5 out of 5 stars Powerful debut album!.......2004-12-30

Fey made her debut in 1995 with her self-titled album, which spawned five radio hits (listed below with an **). That doesn't mean, however, that the rest of her album is stuffed with boring filler songs (like most of today's manufactured bands in America).

This album's style can be best described as Euro-dance like. THere are, of course, some slower tempo pop songs if you get tired of the euro stuff (though you really wont!).

1. Bonbon 5/5 - Great way to kick off the album! Moderate euro style song has cute lyrics, and good tempo. Just bothers me a little bit that she can't even TRY to say "Je t'aime" a little more correctly. It's a really good song for a non-radio hit.

2. ** Gatos en el Balcon 3/5 - Slower song, but good lyrics and catchy beat. Good radio hit.

3. ** Fiebre del Sabado 4/5 - Very bouncy, cutesy and happy. Has a pretty fast melody and it sounds a lot like a festival tune of some sort. It might take some adjusting to since it's too happy, but one you'll come to enjoy.

4. La Soledad me Mata 1/5 - Slower song. I usually skip it over but am starting to like it a little more - after 2 years. It takes quite a lot of time to adjust to this one; the melody is sometimes repetitive and annoying.

5. ** Media Naranja 5/5 - Her debut single. This (along with Azucar Amargo) is what she's always known for. Not too euro-like; more of a dance song. You won't forget this song easily.

6. **Me Enamoro de Ti 2/5 - Another dance tune. This one is very cutesy and the melody at times sounds a little childish. The chorus isn't very interesting either; it's quite dull. Still worth a listen sometimes.

7. Dos Corazones 0/5 - OK, definately a filler song. This song is slow, boring, dull and the melody sounds like it came straight out of a video game. Skip this one.

8. Tirando a Matar 5/5 - Best song on the album (in my opinion)! This one is heavily euro influenced. The lyrics are catchy and the tune makes you want to dance. It's definately a very strong non-radio hit.

9. Bailando Bajo la Lluvia 5/5 - Another best song on the album! Has a slower pop melody but the lyrics are so cute and the song is so catchy that I absolutely love it! Call me crazy but it sounds like a typical anime closing song. Also a really strong non-radio hit.

10. **La Noche se Mueve 4/5 - Much more of a club feel to it than euro or dance. It has a pretty heavy beat. Great song, except the "eh, eh" part gets a bit annoying after some time.

11. Como Pan Y Chocolate 1/5 - Slow song. Not very interesting; melody is boring, chorus is dull. I usually skip this one.

12. La Noche se Mueve (Remix) 2/5 - It's the same thing, except this one is faster and stretched out a LITTLE bit. Its a bit disappointing because it sounds awkward at this tempo. Other than that, nothing special...I wouldn't even call this a remix.

13. Media Naranja (Remix) 3/5 - At least this one was truly remixed. Given a new, faster beat, this one is much more euro than the original. My only problem is that it sounds weird during the chorus part.

14. Me Enamoro de Ti (Remix) 3/5 - Given a much BETTER dance tempo and makes the song more tolerable. The company should have released this one as the single instead...however, the lyrics and chorus are still boring.

Overall, this CD is a must-have for your collection of Dance CDs. If you own it, its not a good idea to sell it even if you have "Exitos" because the non-single releases are just as good as the radio hits! Definately worth the 11.98$ you pay for!

5 out of 5 stars TU MI COMPLEMENTO MI MEDIA NARANJA!.......2004-08-30

Fey never imagine that her debut album will influence more than half the population of little girls in Mexico and Central America. Coming in 1995 before Britney or any Pop Teen Idol Princess. Fey teached the girls how to dress and act. Her music had pure innocence in it. MEDIA NARANJA is a latino-classic now. Her euro-oriented pop flooded the radio waves from all Mexico-Guatemala to Panama. And that made her the top seller for cute few years til 1998 when her true age was reveal, and a different Fey emerged, and she had to battled with true teenagers girls of her cousin country Miss Spears and Aguilera. For Fey, her fate lead her to oblivion after her third album. But it's undeniable that her debut album could be found in many homes of Mid america, still ponping those infectuos beats. *****FIVE STARS, mainly for her status in POP Mexican Music Culture and her contribution to Overall sells in the World.

This is a Great CD, for all the fans and no fans of fey. it has ones of the best songs of fey and if you buy this cd you'll start to love fey and you`ll want to get all her cds.

4 out of 5 stars Mas o menos..........2005-07-24

5 out of 5 stars Awesome 80's techno-pop circa 2005! (and La Fuerza that expanded my musical world!).......2006-03-28

If you want the quick synopsis, skip to the end of this review. Otherwise, here's the LONG story! One day, in March 2005, I hit the wrong number on my stereo remote and instead of winding up on the "oldies" channel, I landed on the Latin Pop channel where I was mesmerized by La Fuerza Del Destino. Of course, I had NO IDEA who this Fey woman was, being as I didn't speak Spanish! I HAD been a Shakira fan since Laundry Service, even her Spanish albums, but I'd never looked any deeper into Latin music. At any rate, I really wanted to hear the song again SO I started listening to the Latin Pop channel just to hear Fey every 4 hours 45 minutes! Of course, in the meantime, I exposed myself to LOTS of other Latin musicians and music and REALLY ENJOYED IT. Not the depressing, angst filled stuff being cranked out lately by English speaking musicians! THAT'S why I'd been splitting time between 1955-70 Pop and the 80's music of my college days.

Back to the point--I took a chance and bought La Fuerza Del Destino from Amazon and WOW! FANTASTIC! From start to finish I just loved it! Of course, I couldn't UNDERSTAND anything, SO I decided to teach myself to understand Spanish. Living in the boonies near the Canadian border, there isn't anybody around who speaks Spanish (eh?) so that's why I had to teach MYSELF! I'm pleased to report success. I can now read and understand Spanish fairly well. Making up my OWN sentences is still a bit S L O W and pathetic, but I can UNDERSTAND lyrics and Spanish language movies (although I have to cheat with closed captioning at times when they TALK TOO FAST!). But I digress!

Since then, I've bought most of FEY'S other albums (and numerous other Latin albums!) from Amazon.com and enjoyed them ALL! Today, I can look back and say that La Fuerza Del Destino is DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for my discovering a WHOLE NEW WORLD of music that I never knew existed AND for my learning a whole new language!! So thanks, FEY! You expanded my musical world and even made me want to move SOUTH OF THE BORDER--although it might be that I'm just getting tired of shoveling all the SNOW we get up here in the north!

NOW TO SUMMARIZE: I think that La Fuerza Del Destino is AWESOME. 12 GREAT TRACKS, not a lame one amongst them! Having never heard Mecano's versions (or of Mecano for that matter!) I judged this album as "new" material and not as "remakes". Happy, FUN dance pop with a techno-flair! La Fuerza, Barco A Venus & Busca Algo Barato are my favorite tracks. The whole album reminds me of the great American/English techno-pop from the 1980's. Nothing cutting edge or quirky (ala Shakira), but VERY WELL PERFORMED and WELL PRODUCED. I'll be back for more FEY when her new album comes out! FIVE STARS (y muchas gracias, Fey!) for LA FUERZA DEL DESTINO!!

4 out of 5 stars Oh no, es de Mecano!.......2006-03-11

Hoy no me puedo levantar (3/5): De ritmo casi disco o eurotechno.

Maten a Mecano.

Estupida letra.

Me cuesta tanto olvidarte (4.5/5): Punto y aparte.

3 out of 5 stars Una Fuerza Sin Destino.......2006-02-19

I respect fey, I grew up w/ her as a kid, since me being
a mutt she, and shakira were a channel for me to improve
my spanish, so alot of people didnt like her bubble gum
days, but I did, she had a childish act and I was a child
too. So alot of people who dislike her bubble gum days where
young adults when she came out, so she didnt give them an
impact as profound as the younger generation. So I got to
grow up through her musical development, everybody was
so shock when Vertigo came out, because she droped the innocent
kiddy gurl to be this euro-trance star that she is, but
for those who were to ignorant to see it coming I did,
she was just looking for the moment to wait, and see how
to use new beats, with new technology, the technology she
had when she did the first 3 ablums where limited, simple
electronic beats, and then Vertigo, she used electric
guitar, and gitter like sounds, and powerful vocals. And
like she said she wanted to take a break, and do something
fun, to re-do Mecano remixes, and she said an interview
in Vertigo she found her sounds, and will embrace in it
later in the future. This Cd was just for fun, and for that
I would give it 2 stars, but another one, because she did
this for herself, not for her popularity, and that's what
I admire in an artist, to go with there own flow, and not
sell out, she did that already, doing her act for 3 ablums
playing a childish gurl, when really she was waiting for the
moment to shot up, vertigo style.....

5 out of 5 stars You Go Girl!!!!!.......2005-12-31

This is my 3rd cd from Fey. I own her 2nd and 3rd cd also. I wanted this cd because their was a couple songs I heard on my latin music channel. And I loved those songs. I heard that these are not new songs. That they are songs from a group which I never bought any of their cds. Mecano. But I think they are all great. Wonderful cd Fey. Thank You.

2 out of 5 stars Give us another Vertigo PLEASE.......2005-10-31

The only reason I may give 2 stars to this album is because it has some nice music arragments & some interesting music sounds. Mecano music was the best at their time but the songs are dated and despite of the twist Fey gave to those songs they still doesnt cut it for todays music. The sales for her cd Vertigo may had not been the best but to give us this "fuerza del destino" after that wonderful "Vertigo" experience is far beyond unreasonable. Her voice sounds v good on this new record but the lyrics sounds dumb and after all nobody can sing them like mecano (I respect their music but I dont enjoy it). Please give us sequel to Vertigo Fey, we all know you can do much better. You cant trade quality and creativity for sales.

    Album Description

A continuation of the critically acclaimed Haydn cycle conducted by Thomas Fey. Born in 1960, Fey was a student of Nikolaus Harnoncourt from 1988 to 1991 at the Salzburg Mozarteum and also studied under Leonard Bernstein. The Heidelberg Symphony produces idiomatic performances of these immortal symphonies with a unique and judicious blend of modern and period instruments, demonstrating that Haydn's music--like all great historic music--must dwell both in the past and present to be viable.

Consistency--via dazzling, complex club beats--has always been one of Fey's biggest strengths. Faltan Lunas stays true to Fey's trademark swirl of pop smarts, electro grooves and house-music tendencies. It's the Mexican singer's first album of original material since 2002's dazzlingly dark Vertigo and 2004's La Fuerza del Destino, a lush tribute to '80s pop group Mecano. Even throughout those musical detours, Fey often let her inner glitterball goddess shine. Faltan Lunas pairs the singer with producer Carlos Jean, who creates a world of luxurious beats and live instrumentation. The disc also recalls some of Fey's earlier hits. Upbeat tracks "Y Aqui Estoy," "Me Has Vuelto Loca" and "Solo Para Bailar" share time with moody midtempo numbers "Entre Dos," "Volar Otra Vez" and the gorgeous "Como Un Angel." More than a decade into her career, Fey still excels at making music that intrigues and inspires. --Joey Guerra

4 out of 5 stars FEY? not the one we all know, .......2007-05-26

in this CD. fey apparently is driven by marketing, rather than quality. im a number one fan of fey, and though a lot of songs in this CD are very well produced, this production lacks of lyrics that tell a story, its all about the music, which is not a bad thing, but is not fey. i know that she doesnt sing as good as madonna, but when u dont have the great voice, the least thing u could do is get good lyrics, like in "La Fuerza Del Destino" though those were really old lyrics, they were really well writen, and excellently produced, me i rate this cd as 3 stars, but for im a fey fun, i must put at least 4, sorry fey, though i love all ur productions, this one is not one of my favorites. a little more of the old skool should help u, since it made u famous at the very beginning.

4 out of 5 stars NICE FOLLOW-UP to La Fuerza, worth a listen!.......2007-01-04

FALTAN LUNAS is exactly what you'd expect from Fey. Well sung, well produced and enjoyable. Worth a listen. In the spectrum of Fey albums, I liked it better than Tierna La Noche, but not quite as much as El Color de Los Suenos or La Fuerza Del Destino. A bit slower in tempo and not quite as "dancey" as her earlier CD's. Best tracks, in my opinion, are TRES RAZONES and the title track. Still has that great, "techno-pop" feel to the whole album. Another solid performance from start to finish!

CD includes lyrics. All in all, I'd give it FOUR STARS and say that FALTAN LUNAS is a good buy!

5 out of 5 stars Uno de los mejores discos del 2006 y con un sonido muy fresco.......2006-09-04

5 out of 5 stars Haydn Symphonies - Fey & HeidelbergSO: Spicey, Amazing.......2007-06-29

My recorded standards in Haydn to date have included the complete Fischer Austro-Hungarian cycle, now released total on Brilliant at a good price I believe, plus the older Dorati with the Philharmonia Hungarica, probably now drifting through used bins somewhere. Other supplemental recordings included Bernstein's NYP run of the later symphonies, and Paris cycle sets with Dutoit and von Karajan.

The band at hand in these discs - six or seven to date in a projected complete recorded set of all the Haydn symphonies - is a strange bird, indeed. The Heidelberg SO uses a mix of modern and period instruments, with the strings and woodwinds being modern, and the brass being period originals or rebuilds of authentic period instruments. Why Thomas Fey and friends came up with this mix is difficult to explain, exactly. On the surface, it seems like an odd idea that probably would not work, musically. Yet, against all early odds, Fey and company do make it all work, and brilliantly at that. Fey studied with some of the leading lights of the period instrument performance movement, including Harnoncourt, and the truth of my listening ears is that I would much prefer to hear him, so far, than I like to hear his world-class pioneer and mentor.

As it happens, this mix is just about perfect for Haydn. You get a punch from the period brass that seems obvious, once you have heard it. Beethoven got his sforzandos from somewhere, in this view. Haydn comes off like a pretty vital, cool character. Not missing touches of gallantry and elegance, particularly in the loving care that is paid by these players to slower movements and lightening textures - a touch of very sweet, then. But on the whole, their approach stays so alive and vital that few will get sleepy, even listening closely to Papa Haydn. Tempos are reliably fast, but not rushed to blur the articulation of phrases and chords so important to the harmonic story being told by the composer. Against all odds, the strings, woodwinds, and period brass have a blend - spicy and piquant - all their own. One suspects that Fey and friends relied on their own ears, more than on abstract notions, as they molded their performance strategy.

The sound is regular 16-bit CD in stereo - but very good for all that. And do check out similarly Wow performances of Beethoven - an interrupted complete cycle in progress? - and Mozart. The real deal for music first, and period performance invention, second. Very Highly Recommended.

      5 out of 5 stars What a sound!.......2002-09-30

This was the first purchase of this label for me and I hope not the last. A very exhilarating performance AND sound. It rivals Telarc's approach to recording, which I love.

        Album Description

This is the first volume in what will become the definitive Mendelssohn cycle of the new century. Maestro Fey, a long-time advocate of Mendelssohn's orchestral music, has assembled several rare alternate versions of his string symphonies, which he himself later orchestrated. Born in 1960, Fey was a student of Nikolaus Harnoncourt from 1988 to 1991 at the Salzburg Mozarteum, and also studied under Leonard Bernstein.

5 out of 5 stars El amor duele..........2006-03-11

Letra tonta y adolecente.

Muevelo (4/5): Fue un sencillo si no mal recuerdo. De tempo medio rapido y ritmo dance. Evidentemente para bailar.

Te pertenezco (4/5): De letra tontamente adolecente, ritmo dance y tempo progresivo.

5 out of 5 stars Wow, Just Wow.......2005-05-30

I can honestly say i'm very late listening to this album, but ever since I heard it, I can't put it down. It is just a great album!!! I have no reason to explain it, but I get emotional when I hear it, its so great to me :)

5 out of 5 stars Fantastico Disco, Fey ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!.......2001-04-28

        5 out of 5 stars a stellar album.......2000-10-20

When an album like this comes out and features song after song of solid rhythms and lyrics, you just have to feel both thrilled and wistful, since such a staggering success is unlikely to be repeated.

NON-LATINOS, please, take Ricky Martin and Enrique Iglesias out of your CD player and put this one in. This is a great Spanish-language pop album that doesn't trade in on Latin trendiness at all. I'm not saying Fey is the best- if you really think about it, she can't sing very well at all, but this is a very strong album that anyone can appreciate. I dare you to listen to the first two tracks and take it out.

I hope more of you discover Fey. Much love....
