My oh my, how could the music world overlook this deep talent? Conscious is soul (not neo-soul, just soul) at it's finest. It is so refreshing when an artist comes along who can sing from the heart and who realizes the importance of top notch musicianship and Julie Dexter certainly fits the bill. After listening to this CD, you're left with a real sense of soul refreshment. You'd better appreciate this sista now!

Can't stop dancin'.......2000-07-19

If you are looking for a great collection of dance cutz, this is the CD for you. We've had it for over a year, and I can still listen to it over and over. The 12-yr old son loves it too -- I'm having to order a second copy, so that *I* can get time with it!

Not too bad for having 'Macarena' in the Title.......1999-12-31

I bought this CD when it first came out, and when I just installed a new stereo system in my truck. I was very pleased with all of the great dance hits with ground shaking bass that this CD had to offer. It sounded great with my new system, and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes fast, driving dance music. Great for parties! Overall, it's a good CD, even though it has the Macarena on it. (which I'm sure we're all sick of by now)

All lovers of roots reggae should have this CD in their collection. The tracks are all very strong in message and groove. The interplay between the lead vocals and the female back-up singers brings to mind classic early Wailers tracks. This is music with an uplifting message. Whispering Lion's lyrics come from the heart and will touch your soul. You need to hear this amazing and under appreciated disc. You will not be disappointed. There is a follow-up CD nearing completion and from the advance buzz it appears to be even stronger, watch for it later this year. Much respect to the Whispering Lion!

Who says this is a whispering lion? While Zeitsoff's crafty lyrics and original vocal style seem to whisper messages of hope and the human spirt, the music underneath ROARS! I first discovered Whispering Lion back in 1986 and have been a devoted fan ever since! Forget what you've been programmed to listen to... Checkout TRIBUTE TO THE SPIRIT. Im am a really big dance hall/dub fan. I found Whispering Lion's latest album very up lifting and easy to listen to. With so many releases that focus on negative stereo types and violence it was refreshing to hear something socially aware and pleasing to listen to. I also dj (mostly down-tempo, hip hop, dub) and will be looking for Whispering Lion on wax.

Whispering Lion has a cool vibe; this is a nice record; lots of excellent songs. I especially love Up 2 Us, its positive and mellow and has a great riddim. Lovers Night is also a favorite because I like love songs. Trouble Stop, Lion Lay Down, and Rise Up are very conscious and more political. Go Whispering Lion, yr fan Betty (Paris in Love).
