Its Definately Inventive.......2007-07-31

I am one of the remaining die hard Ross fans so I buy most whatever I see is new, remixed, or warmed over. I was curious what the Japanese take on club remixes would be. While there is no one track that totally blows me away they consistently kept my interest on songs I have heard hundreds of times. Captain Funk's version of Theme From Mahogany (Do You Know Where Your Going To?) is a Faux live performance in an early 1980's Punk/New Wave style remix. Sounds bizarre I know but it works. Reminds me of early Blonde. The Boss (which has been remixed dozens of times over the years) sounds fresh and contemporary. No way do I think this will be a hit in the US but if your a Ross/Supremes fan its worth it.

Great Idea That Misses The Mark And WAY OVERPRICED.......2007-07-31

This was a CD I had ordered without the least bit of hesitation, After hearing it I had wished I had had a chance to sample. This is a great idea,
remix one of the most popular bands of all time. However the project comes up short. Grant it that there are a few good tracks, the rest fall short of grabbing the dancefloor. You Can't Hurry Love And I'm Coming are decent dance tracks, the remix of Ain't No Mountain was to say the least DISSAPOINTING. Just a drawn out intro that never really goes anywhere. Oh Well I guess if you're a Supremes Fan you''ll buy this just for the pure novelty of the disc, my advice look for a used price that will save you $10 or $15.

I bought this cd because i not only love them, but wanted to hear the mixes which i always buy from other artists. I LOVED them all! I would have to say that if this would've been a US release, I could so see the music company promoting the Remixed album with Stop In The Name Of Love.
First there was Marilyn Monroe Mixes from Japan, Now Diana Ross and Supremes. What next, Elvis Presley !!!

I love these mixes. I have previously bought remixes of Diana's both made in the States and in England but they merely put a revamped beat behind the groove. These Japanese remixes totally change the concept of Diana and the Supremes. The new version Of I'm still waiting is my favourite. Also deeper beats on Upside Down and the Boss have absolute excitement for me. I think we should give credit where it is due. These modern Japanese producers have made the songs sound so new and I can easily imagine them being dropped into a set at nightclubs and dance parties.

the remixes are gawd awful. was hoping for some sort of dance remixes which have heard in clubs. however, the songs on this cd sound as if someone was just tinkering with some electronic equipment and decided that could be called "remixes". this is NOT worth purchasing - trust me. and I am a B I G both diana ross and the supremes fan.

"Horn of Plenty" is an odd debut album for a band, since it was created before the band proper existed.

Instead, the first Grizzly Bear album is largely the efforts of Ed Droste, and he spreads himself over several genres -- freakfolk, pop, psychedelica and post-rock, layered together into gentle, hypnotic melodies. It's like sitting through a fuzzy, colourful dream and waking just in time for the remixes.

It opens with strange animal noises, and a reverberent hum... and a gentle guitar under a thin layer of murmuring keyboard. It sounds like someone doped Grandaddy. "I'm a deep sea diver with my fins/and underneath your current I do swim," Droste murmurs distantly. "I'm a deep sea diver losing air/and around here I'm sad swimming/you don't care..."

Things get slightly more upbeat in the gentle tripfolk of "Don't Ask" ("I fell into your arms that night/Don't ask"), before trickling into a series of fuzzy, gentle songs: exotic scratchy electropop, fluting indie-rock, ghostly ballads, lo-fi tunes that sound like they were recorded over a walkie-talkie, and shifting epics of shimmering freakfolk. It all finishes up with "This Song," a gentle guitar pop melody that may have a beat, but is as drowsy as a lullaby.

And this release has a second disc of remixed songs, which gives the mellow songs new twists -- jangling strings, a psychedelic reworking, funky dance beats, gentle electronic waves, maracas, grimy rock edges, carnival rock, hard techno, and what sounds like radio static. And these are all done by some brilliant artists -- Final Fantasy, Dntel, Ariel Pink, Efterklang, the Castanets, Alpha, Solex and Safety Scissors.

Grizzly Bear doesn't sound anything like its name would imply -- no rough edges, no rock, no wildness. Just very soothing, mellow fuzz-folk and gently lo-fi indie-postrock, which sounds like a worn-out, half-asleep freakfolker slowly drifting out to sea, in a mist of dreams. Yes, it's that endearing and pretty, but without an ounce of pretension.

Musically, it's layered like the Grand Canyon. At the core, it's made up of gentle guitar riffs and wandering acoustic melodies, but then Droste quietly weaves different sounds over it -- a haze of fuzz, ghostly synth, rattling drums, gentle keyboard melodies, some squiggling vinyl and crackling radio sounds, and a sprinkling of bells, tambourines, flutes, birdsong and other little sounds.

Droste does the same thing with his mellow, gentle, sad voice -- in "Showcase" he layers, echoes and harmonizes with himself, until it sounds like a chorus of Drostes are melting into the powerful melody. Lyrics are almost superfluous, but Droste spins a series of bittersweet songs about wishing that you hadn't lost someone ("My chest hurts a lot tonight/Maybe you can fix that... And when I walk on by, I see you waving...").

Grizzly Bear's debut album is a fuzzy, mournful little gem, and the bonus disc of remixes is pretty good too. Bittersweet, dreamlike and thoroughly enchanting.

That first track Deep Sea Diver.
Oh man.
That is so sweet when that electric guitar comes in at the end there.
It's underwater space time...you know what I'm talking about. That sweet sweet spot.
And then the whole rest of the album.
Not a bad song on it.
I like their second album as well, but not as much...as this one.
Sounds like nothing else. Sounds like the inside of my brain.

I've had this album for a couple of years now, so I didn't get the remixes. I heard em. They're ok. A nice little treat, but the album its self...finds its way in to CD player...often.

Because this album tends to be a little more random and spacey than yellow house, I find it slightly anxiety producing, but overall I think it's a great album, but for me, only when I'm in the right mood...

It is evident within three minutes of this album that this is something special. Unlike the usual self-recorded crowd, Grizzly Bear uses their constrained space and uses it to blanket their music with a layer of aural insulation. Through these crackles through time, prepare to feel like you are in the woods. This album is one of the most moving I have found in years.

Gorgeous Electronica to Chill With.......2006-08-01

Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn are living legends. Not since Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox were at their peak as Eurythmics has there been a stylish British duo whose music combines solid producing and songwriting skills with the spell cast by a vocalist of great individuality and power. Furthermore, at a moment in Everything But the Girl's history when most bands would have gone under or - even worse - become a living fossil imprisoned forever within the mausoleum of Adult Contemporary, EBTG chose to adapt rather than die, and along the way became one of the most widely respected and influential bands in the business. Until 1995, EBTG were no more than a cult band, known for their jazzy stylings and nostalgic evocation of a pre-rock era atmosphere of trenchcoats, Left Bank cafes and Nouvelle Vague hip (Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn are nothing if not living examples of cool hipster Euro-chic at its best). After gaining a lot of critical attention during the mid-to-late '80's jazz-pop revival, and scoring their first top 10 UK hit (a cover of Rod Stewart's "I Don't Want To Talk About It") in 1988, EBTG made the shark-jumping decision to go for US radio success. Their first album under their deal with Atlantic records (1990's "The Language of Life") remains their only major misstep, abandoning their customary sleek jazzy stylings in favor of necrotic midtempos a la Burt Bachrach and Carole Bayer Sager. Despite some airplay on the kind of radio stations targeted at suburban housewives, the record managed to alienate their older fans and wasn't particularly memorable to boot. Then, Ben Watt developed a rare bone-marrow disease and nearly died. Tracey Thorn's voice fell silent as EBTG took a hiatus which many fans feared permanent. Fortunately, 1994 brought us the deeply felt "Amplified Heart," a collection of stripped-down folk numbers which suggested a return to the fundamental roots of popular music-making (a few good songs, a great vocalist and perfect guitar play) and a fresh start. In 1995, fate intervened. A chance introduction and a newly-recovered Ben Watt's developing interest in electronic music led EBTG to producer Todd Terry's studio and a remix of an "Amplified Heart" track called "Missing." The house beats and the emotions were equally deep, and the song was an instant classic. Perhaps not since Bob Dylan abandoned his acoustic and plugged in his electric had an artist changed styles so abruptly. Overnight, EBTG went from being a little-known cult band to massive worldwide success. What could they do for an encore? And how to avoid the accusations of "selling out?" Miraculously, their follow-up record, 1996's "Walking Wounded" demonstrated Watt's new mastery of ambient and deep house chords, which - combined with Thorn's sensuous-yet-chilly-alto and the duo's basic songwriting skill - made for a powerful set and international hits like "Wrong" and "Mirrorball." EBTG had accomplished something few acts in the music business have managed to do - they changed their musical style, became worldwide successes and attracted a horde of new followers without alienating their old fans or losing critical acclaim in the process. Amazing! Although the group has been on hiatus since 1999's smash hit set, "Temperamental," Ben Watt's work as a DJ, producer and promoter has kept them current, and this remix set makes a beautiful stopgap until the long-awaited day arrives when Ben and Tracey return to the studio together. "Adapt or Die" might be subtitled. "The EBTG Story," for it demonstrates the reason for their successful transformation into an electronic act with soul. The songs here (aside from the now-inevitable "Missing" and the great "Corcovado") mostly come from "Walking Wounded" and "Temperamental," so longtime fans won't find any surprises here. The marvelous thing about this record is how fresh the songs still sound today ("Walking Wounded" is now 10 years old after all) and how relevant. Each remix puts Thorn's amazing voice front and center and never forgets (with one unfortunate exception) what makes every track click in the first place. This is first-class electronica, equally suitable to chill to or to dance to, with just the right balance between technology and soul. Highlights of this set are a gorgeous version of "Corcovado" which is impossible not to dance to, a stunning reinterpretation of "Five Fathom" and Kenny Dope's electro-jazz reimagining of "Downhill Racer." There is only one clunker on this set - an unfortunate remix of "Temperamental" which sounds like a funeral dirge and ought to have been erased the next day. Just skip over that one and let the rest of this gorgeous record flow over your spirit. For those of us wondering what EBTG will do for their next record, now that modern dance music is bigger than ever and electro-clash has come and gone, "Adapt or Die" is a great preview of coming attractions.

Pleasantly surprised.......2006-06-30

Everything but the girl has never sounded so good... truly awesome remixes, if you like good modern mixing talent coupled with oldies but goodies. I especially recommend Corcovado, which I think is unlike any other I've heard before... Beautiful voice, great sounds, and a pleasant flow from song to song. A highly recommended chillout CD...

A good dance CD that's unfortunately uneven - you'll like it but not greatly.......2006-01-08

This remix album of some of Everything But The Girl's better songs is good, albeit uneven. It does make for some pretty good dance music, though. The album starts off very strongly, but it starts to fall apart after "Corcovado". The remixes are mostly pretty well done, and on occasion even better than their original counterparts (see the first three tracks)! Singer Tracy Thorn has a pretty great voice, even if it's sort of a guilty pleasure. A good amount of people should like it, I think. This is mainly meant to be a dance album, and it somewhat succeeds in that department. I think the best way to utilize the album would be to play single tracks off of it. If you're looking for a good dance album then this will probably at least satisfy you. Recommended.

Must Have for the EBTG Collection.......2005-11-25

I recently went online to see if Everything But the Girl had released anything new since Temperamental and came across this CD. I immediately purchased and it hasn't left my car since. While granted that this a remix album, it does nothing to shortchange the absolute brilliance of EBTG. The best mix for me is Lullaby of Clubland. I think I listened to this song about 20 times in a row from the first time I heard it. The classics are also here: Missing and Wrong. It was listening to those two songs in the clubs ten years ago that first introduced me to EBTG, of which I am so eternally grateful. I recently played the Missing remix from the CD at a DJ gig I did two weeks ago and the reaction blew me away. Missing is still the quintessential club staple after all these years. EBTG rules!

Great Remixes........2005-10-25

Remix albums are a hot thing now and Everything But The Girl were definitely in line to release their own remixes on an album. I am always first in line to purchase any remix album that comes out and this release is definitely worth it. It contains some awesome tracks and EBTG are definitely one of the artists from the 90's that wont be forgotten. Especially since they re-released a Todd Terry remix of the massive pop club track Missing. Of course on this release they don't have the Todd Terry remix of Missing but a rare unreleased CL McSpadden Powerhouse Mix. The remix definitely takes me back to 1995 when club and house music were exploding and this track was definitely one of the songs to help do that. I especially love the Knee Deep Remix/Ben Watt Vocal Re-Edit of Corcovado. It's got that hot Latin House vibe going for it and it definitely gets the groove going. The DJ Jazzy Jeff Sole Full Remix of Mirrorball has been given that extra deep downtempo beat to make for a laidback soulful remix. It's originally a great track and this version has definitely improved upon how wonderful it is. Kevin Yost's Everything And A Groove Mix of Five Fathoms is just remix perfection. I originally had this remix on the CD single and it was refreshing to definitely to hear it again. I like the way they have broken down with the remixes and they include both very upbeat ones and laidback ones as well. Lastly it's excellent to end the CD with an acoustic version of Driving. I great touch to an awesomely produced CD. Worth it for any fan of remixes.

Unlike most single-artist remix albums, J to tha L-O! actually has a purpose beyond raking in cash from fans. The best of these cuts brings much-needed weight to the often-weak writing, vocals, and production that mar Jennifer Lopez's two previous multiplatinum albums. The prize, of course, is her duet with Ja Rule on "I'm Real," but the other highlights (a Rodney Jerkins reworking of his own "If You Had My Love," P. Diddy's "Feelin' So Good") follow along similar hip-hop/R&B lines. Her stabs at street cred aren't always as successful; the 12-letter curse she employs on the Sack International Remix of "Play" is a good deal less than convincing. Generic house rhythms don't do anything for "Let's Get Loud" and "Walking on Sunshine." Finally, the new, tacked-on ballad "Alive," cowritten by the superstar, begins like "I Honestly Love You" but quickly proves itself a new "Greatest Love of All," filled with blind self-love. her career is so similar to paula abdul it's not even funny! Both started out dancing. Paula worked with janet jackson in the mid 80's and appeared in her videos, J LO worked with janet in the mid 90's and appeared in a video of hers. Paula Abdul tried her hand at music in the late 80's as a dance-diva and J LO did the same thing in the late 90's. Both of their debut albums Forever Your Girl and On the 6 sold well, and better than their follow up albums. Early 1991, Paula Abdul released Spellbound and early 2001 J LO released J LO. Both of them had strong first singles and their albums fell off the charts pretty fast although both managed to reach 3 million(instead of 8 million and 5 million like their debuts) and have a lot of hits from their albums. Let's not forget to mention that paula briefly did acting as well and J LO is also an actress. This Is Me Again didn't make a dent in the charts and Rebirth was the final nail in the coffin in 2005, just like paula's Head Over Heels. The first single from their final albums both had good videos(My Love Is For Real & Get Right) but by then it was too late and the public already had enough of them. I expect to see J LO release a compilation album by 2010 and appearing as a host or something 10 years from now.

Let's face it people: Jennifer Lopez's music isn't about talent, it's about the production. Therefore, a J. Lo remix CD is a good idea because most remix CDs are about production, and that is J. Lo's strong point. This CD is hot and way better than any of her studio albums, and every song improves upon the original version. For hip-hop heads, you got the remixes to "Love Don't Cost a Thing", "Ain't It Funny", "I'm Gonna Be Allright", "I'm Real", and "Feelin' So Good", which is my favorite of the hip-hop flavored tracks. The best tracks though are the ones remixed house/trance-style: "Walking On Sunshine" and "Waiting For Tonight" in particular are both fabulous. And I really like Darkchild's remix of "If You Had My Love." He produced the original too, but he brings something catchier and bouncier to the remix. The downside to this disc, if you want to call it that, is that J. Lo really takes the side stage because the remixers are the stars of the album. I don't personally mind this though, because I am not a Jennifer Lopez fan per say, just a fan of good dance music, which this is. Oh, and that ballad "Alive" does not gel with the rest of the album, so I do not feel it belongs here.

Perfect soundtrack to Summer 2007.......2007-07-18

Open Your Box is the second of two Yoko Ono remix CDs under the moniker of Ono. The first CD Yes, I'm A Witch gathered a broad range of musical talents to reinterpret her songs creating an eclectic mix of tracks from Peaches electroclash take on Kiss Kiss Kiss to Antony Hegarty's dreamy Toy Boat to Hank Shocklee's short but sweet Witch Shocktronica Intro. Most, but not all, of the remixes work pretty well (Cat Power and Porcupine Tree come to mind as the weaker tracks) with the dancier tracks being the standouts.

Open Your Box, released a few months after Witch, takes its cue from Witch's dancier tracks by being a disc full of non stop incredibly cool dance remixes from more high profile artists like Pet Shop Boys, Basement Jaxx, Felix da Housecat and Danny Tenaglia.

The sound samples will not give you an idea of what to expect because these are multi layered tracks that build up over the duration of the track. The music in and of itself is pretty much your garden variety Euro house that you would hear at your local gay bar but what transcends it is the juxtaposition of Ono's unique voice and vocal stylings over a pulsating pounding beat. Yes, Yoko is not the world's best singer but I enjoy the sincerity in her voice which makes it work really, really well. And her voice will surprise you. It's really not as bad as so many people make it out to be.

The opener, You're the One is one of the highlights for me and is lovely and heartfelt especially when Yoko's voice cracks as she sings "How do I teeellllll you? You're the one."

Another highlight is Peter Rauhofer's Hell In Paradise remix. The start of my love affair with Yoko began with this song when I saw the video for it years ago in the early 80s. What makes this remix so wonderful is once Yoko's sings her vocals over a pulsating trance beat there's this added disco diva chorus that repeats the main chorus of the track. Hard to explain but it's exactly the kind of stuff you want to hear when you're all sweaty and half naked on the dance floor.

Give Me Something is yet another highlight. There's this break in the middle of the song and in a call and response style Yoko sings, "Give me something!" as a male vocal answers "Yoko wants!" It gets even better when Yoko's voice echoes, "Give me something . . . hard...hard...hard...cold...cold...cold. . ."

Possibly my favorite track of the entire disc is the Pet Shop Boy's Walking On Thin Ice remix. I am not a fan of PSB but they do wonders with this remix. I get goosebumpy and teary eyed when Yoko sings, "When our hearts return to ashes it will be just a stor-or-or-ory." Even her primal scream yelping is pitch perfect with this remix.

The only track that doesn't work for me is DJ Dan's Give Peace A Chance remix. I don't think it's possible to turn that song into a dance track without it coming off cheesy.

Open Your Box is the perfect summer CD and was the perfect soundtrack for me and my buds during gay pride as well. Everyone I have played this for either loved it right from the start or reluctantly succumbed to it charms. I used to love Yoko Ono but now I totally worship her. Yoko, you need to get into the studio ASAP and record a disc full of original house music. It will work. I would definitely buy it.

Excellent remixes! Bimbo Jones' catchy 'You're The One" will get you moving as will the unexpected "I Don't Know Why" by Sapphirecut. DJ Dan's mix of "Give Peace a Chance" brings a smile as well. Peter Rauhofer also did an excellent job with "Hell In Paradise".
Although the shortened remixes of "Walking on Thin Ice" and "Everyman Everywoman" are appreciable, it would have been nice to hear some more 'new' remixes instead of what has already been released. Nonetheless, it is very listenable!

Outstanding Remix/Dance album.......2007-05-09

Wow, this is great stuff. I can agree with critics who say Yoko is not a great singer, but she is a great artist, and these remixes produced by a wide variety of dance floor wizards really knock me out. If you like to dance, and the artists who created the remixes appeal, then get this album. Guaranteed to get you out on the floor! Open Your Box, indeed!

An Inspiring Mix.......2007-03-08

I love the diversity of the tunes on this album. All of the cuts are well-mixed and smooth. The CD would provide the perfect backdrop for a sleek, modern cocktail joint. It brings together a number of diverse musical styles and weaves them together smoothly for an elegant sound. Moreover, the album contains enough diversity to make it an enjoyable backdrop for an entire evening. It is not like so many modern albums, where you feel like you are listening to the same song over and over again.

What can I say- From the opening notes to the last whisper of sound I was filled with a longing and sadness for a country lost to the ravages of war- I could only think how happy my mother-in-law would have been to have heard this since she was never to return to her beloved country once war had deposited her onto the shores of Europe- Yes, La Kahena Lives!

My first DJ Cheb disc was "Shri Durgha" which is both wonderfully inventive yet reverent to its source. I usually hate remix discs of any kind, but liked what I heard at Barnes and Noble (first 15 seconds of each track) and bought it.

Unlike Durgha which felt organic and only the subtlest bit of touch by the DJ, La Ghriba as a remix project is just the opposite and happily so as its a great fun ride. Trippy infectuous third world grooves keeps the toe tapping, and keep this disc hogging the CD player from all comers.

I don't remember when the last time I thought of a piece of electronica as "great fun", maybe not since "Live Orb 93", but in any case it's been way too long. This one qualifies easily.

I loved La Kahena, and would give it 7 or 8 stars if I could, but I can't. This disc is a piece of crap. First, it sounds like it was mixed by a hearing impaired person. Second, the need to remix the brilliance of La Kahena to make it palatable to what someone thinks is American club culture (at least as it may be thought to exist in a place like Houston, Kansas City, or Pierre, South Dakota) just escapes me. La Kahena is a brave and brilliant integration of rockin' Maghrebi sounds. This ... ick!

Two stars for the original.

The popularity of The Human League never seems to wane, with constant sell-out tours and festival appearances (Homelands and Big Gay Out in 2005). 2005 saw the League back on a 16-date tour of the UK in November. To coincide with their touring activities, a collection of original 12-inch remixes of their most popular tracks are features, many of which have not been on CD before - such as the full unedited versions of 'The Sound Of The Crowd', 'Open Your Heart' and 'The Lebanon'. Many music fans have been waiting for a Remix Album for The Human League for years. After being released I can say now that this album is disappointing. A vocal version for the songs "Don't You Want Me" and "(Keep Feeling)Fascination could've been included. Although this versions are very good they're not the same with little or no vocals at all. Also, they could've include the 12" version of "Love Action."

Quality-pops and clicks etc Human League remixes.......2007-07-02

While there are some pops and clicks on some of these recordings it is not because the recording source is suspect it is because the tracks that have those artifacts where created back between 1981 and 83 when samplers where hugely expensive- hard to get and didnt have much memory at all- the way the producer created most of the non stop unlimited remixes was with a
good old razor blade and tape. A skill that is dieing off. The producer- Martin Rushent- has been said that most of these remixes had SO MANY cuts and edits in the original tape that many times it could only be run through the machine once or twice before it would disintegrate!!! Be glad that these are availible as many many other great artists from the best period of new music (late 70's early to mid 80's) are still not on CD and possibly never will be. While the record companies pump out tons of garbage that has no right to be released tons of great stuff will sit in vaults- people that would spend good money will wait forever- point in case the first two albums (1980 and 81) by Polyrock. They where FINALLY just released on a small label and you had better snatch them up while you can cause the value of them will skyrocket just like the double CD of The Producers(the New Wave-Power Pop band not the remade movie) albums- they where released on a small label on cd and now less then 9 years later they are fetching 80 bucks or so!!

Freakin amazing!.......2007-06-02

Shoooooooooot...Telefon Tel Aviv and their signature sound shining through all of these re-mixed songs! It's freakin amazing. Their beats are always exquisite, and the melodies always lush. Charles and Joshua have taken these songs and totally made them their own in that extra special TTA way. Nobody does music the way these guys do. Please, I implore you -- purchase this disc. And if you don't have'em yet, get their first three releases as well: Fahrenheit Fair Enough, Immediate Action CD single, and Map of What Is Effortless.

Truly the most unique sounds, drum cutting-bleeping-snipping-stuttering-glitching-tweaking, guitar sliding, string orchestrating, swooshing and swooping this way and that. GET IT! ALL OF IT.

Biggest surprise of the year (at least so far...).......2007-05-25

Having seen these guys live, I really wasn't expecting too much from this album, though I know their studio work is far more polished and coherent than their shows might lead you to believe. They seem to have been permanently tagged by one track that's now five years old, Fahrenheit Fair Enough. Which was what caught my ear the first time I heard them. Just a one-track pony?

Nope.

Remixes Compiled is a streamlined sonic surprise. Many of the tracks are vocal, the musical styles of the tracks are wide-ranging, yet the whole album feels totally cohesive, glued together with clicks, blips, and glitches. There's such immense detail in every track-- layers of sounds, sweeping and fading in and out, beautifully timed, always fascinating. It's like listening to imagination.

I'm sold.

Not Bad But A Weak Attempt.......2007-02-11

I love Depeche Mode. I have for quite a long time, and they can put out some awesome remixes. Sadly, many of their best remixes are not here.

I do hope DM intends to put out another box set like this and includes some of the remixes they left off (read: all of the remixes they left off). Disc 1 and 2 are all right, but the choice of remixes leaves MUCH to be desired. Some are standards, some are flat out crap. The bonus disc, #3, fairs a bit better. The alt "People are People" remix by Sherwood is a total waste. Better left on the cutting room floor.

Seriously, DM needs another set of remixes. This box set doesn't do them justice and will leave most fans flaccid.

This was another Christmas gift to my friend who loves Depeche Mode. All of these remixes are fantastic. I highly recommend this to any fan of this group.
