i first heard this Purest of Pain in the original form in the Mis Tres Hermanas show which was showing here for the last few month..Love the song so much but no idea what is the name until recently the music video was showing on the same channel and with the title of the song and the singer. So finally i found what is the name of the great song..and i will surely get it.. Love the slow spanish version more then the english one..seem like something is lost there...

If there's one thing that makes me unable to live without, then I'll tell you now, THIS CD is the one...... the beautiful melody and the lyrics and best of all, the angelic voice of Angel Lopez just keep me wild all day and night......If only every cd has a quality as good as this cd, then RIAA can call it a day to stop piracy........coz nobody will support piracy when Angel(lead singer of SON BY FOUR) is there to sing for us......

This is an excellent CD. If you speak spanish(like me) than you can get the full greatness of this cd. Even if you don't it has wonderful rythm and beat. You can hear the romance in their voices! I suggest that you buy this cd today!!!!

interesting classical music collection..........2004-12-16

This is an interesting classical music collection that is as their personal favorites. My personal faves are by Manuel De Falla (selected by Steven Tyler), a Mozart piece (Keith Richards), Benjamin Britten (Paul McCartney) and Modest Mussorgsky (Trevor Rabin). It includes a 12 page booklet written by Boston DJ Carter Alan with quotes from each musician on why they choose what they did. The other musicians who picked their favorites include Bruce Hornsby, Elton John, Brian Wilson, Marianne Faithful, Michael Stipe, Bono and Frank Sinatra.

Fantastic Classical Compilation.......1999-12-24

This is one of the best classical compilations around - and these are the pieces that inspired other musicians. Rock musicians at that. Lots of good stuff here, including a heartrending rendition of Sposa son Disprezzata, sung by Cecilia Bartoli. Great fun.

I got a CD-R that has some mid-slow music including "Purest of Pain" from a friend of mine when I left the Philippines after 2 years of stay there. I loved this song and listened to it over and over when I missed that tropical country and the people there that I loved so much, but the problem was that I had no idea what the title of this song was. 2 months ago when I found it out by chance, I bought the CD immediately, and all the songs there were great!! Good for a party, relaxing evening, dull afternoon, and Purest of Pain is also good for slow Rumba(latin ballroom dancing).

Here's a CD that I never tire of listening to. Their style is great and they have harmony down pat. This is a CD that you can put on at a party and everyone will enjoy it. They deserve more recognition that what they get (not everyone loves N'Sync and Backstreet Boys). It's a keeper!

I first heard them sing on the radio. I was astounded by the sadness of Purest of Pain! The way all of them somehow come together and make perfect harmony is almost magical. The sadness that could be sensed in the vocalist voice is so touching as if he felt the pain. Now that i bought the album i find myself listening to all thier music over and over again. When the song first came on the radio, i actually thought it was celine dion, silly me. The lead singer can go really low or really high. Also, part of the song is in spanish and its fun to try to analyze the words. Its definetely a great song. Buy it!

I love this song because it touches the deeper side of my heart. The words are well writen, it's romantic like its name says "the purest of pain". It makes you feel happy and sad at the same time, remembering the person that you loved and that you have lost. A disappointment in comparison to the Spanish version........2000-06-16

It is a beautiful song, I can't disagree with that, but in Spanish everythign flows, in English, it just sounds a bit awkward. I like the song, but if u haven't heard the whole thing in Spanish adn the rest of the songs on the cd u are missing something.

Very Emotional.......2000-06-14

I heard this song, and i felt like i was melting...it made me feel like i was the one the song was being sung too. I know that sounds silly but it makes my heart beat faster. At first i didn't know that SOn by Four sang this song, until i heard it on the radio! I was aching inside to know who and what the song was! I rate this a 5 star, because i can listen to this song and never get tired of it! SOn by Four has this great yearning voice, that expresses the song very much. It is very different from the kind of music i listen to, and yet it makes me stop and want to listen and want more.

Beautiful Voices to Match Beautiful Music.......2001-01-26

Este CD es tan bellisima!!! Oh my gosh!! :) When I first bought this album it was because of two songs that I had heard on the radio---those 2 songs were Corazones Solitarios and No Hay Razon. Not only did I find this two salsa tunes to be full of soul, but the arrangements made me feel as though four heavenly angels had fallen from heaven--those angels being the four male vocalists from SON BY FOUR (interestingly enough, the lead singer is named Angel!! :).....anyway, I am very happy to tell you all the rest of the album did not fail to disappoint. Each cut, whether it be fast and filled with sabor (Flavor) and juice, like "Nada," which made me even more of a salsa crazed chica than I am already...he he!!! Or that intoxicatingly sensual ballad, "Si Tu No Estas"---which I played many, many times cause I just couldn't get enough of Angel's smooth crooning.....I felt intoxicated with a beautiful fusion of traditional Puerto Rican rhythms and R&B riffs!!! Buy this album and buy it now!! I guarantee you won't be able to stop dancing, singing or swooning for that matter, as SON BY FOUR carries salsa to new heights of beauty with their musical interpretations....and the last, but not least, the smooth arrangements by song writer Omar Alfanno.......

I just love the sounds on this album. I've gotten into Latin Music in a big way in the last year, mainly with Marc Anthony, Chayanne, Rubin Blades and Celia Cruz, and have only just discovered Son By Four, but this album just says it all for me. The rhythms make me want to get up and dance until I drop.

Nunca habia oido este primer disco suyo. Me enamore del segundo, Son by Four. Este lleva lo mismo! La salsa esta buena y hay mucho mas!! Saben cantar! I love this one too! It is just as good as the 2nd one! I would really recommend it!! Only 8 tracks, but they are all pretty good, and not too slow.

One of the few CDs that I like ALL tracks. Tracks are a mix of gospel and secular themes. Whatever the track, Son By Four delivers with a unique style of hip-hop salsa. It's DLG, Marc Anthony, Ritchie Rey/Bobby Cruz, Miami Sound Machine, and Tito Nieves all rolled into one. The title track "Prepárense" ("Prepare Yourselves") is particularly awesome. Great lyrics, breaks, and mixture of rhythms. I look forward to hearing future work from these guys.

This is the first SB4 CD that I own and all I can say is WOW!!! Ever since I bought it I haven't turned it off. This is by far my favorite CD in my collection and seems poised to stay there, at least until I can get my hands on ALL their previous releases!Salsa Hits is full of wonderfully written and beautifully performed songs that either make you want to get up and dance or sing out loud. GREAT JOB GUYS!!!
