This group is always upbeat, jovial, lively and in this album they really have taking this style of merengue of theirs to the next dimension. This cd is just pure fun- that's the best way I could describe the line up of songs. Ranging from the lyrics to the acoustics, Rikarena has put together an album that is suitable for all types of merengue followers. This group is "los potros" de Kinito Mendez and believe me when they say "sacudete que tiene arena" you will be with shaking it because these merengues are "locos". All the songs are good but my personal favorites are : #1,5,6,8,9,10. As you can see almost the whole cd. I would say that this group is a cross between "Zafra Negra" and "Rokabanda". Try to purchase this one while you can.

I have owned all three of Rikarena's albums, and see them getting better and better all the time. Their song with the Barrio Boyz is the best; all my friends (and I'm talking about people who don't listen to a lot of Latin music) were impressed by the sound. I am anxiously awaiting their next release. The usual lead singer (Shiro, I believe) has a voice that sounds just a little like a kid's, but it is not annoying! The trumpets are coordinated top-notch, and they always have something new on their albums. Rikarena is like a perfect mix between Kinito Mendez and Los Hermanos Rosario. I would say, if you like Zafra Negra, you will love these guys.

Jose Jose once again proves that he is THE master singer of Latin pop ballads and Roberto Livi's production is also right on target.

ENGLISH: With the production by the composer Roberto Livi again, Jose Jose records this album that is like a second part of the album "Mujeriego", but with more search of creativity in the songs. Jose Jose told that its oriented to the mexican-american people. That's why "Distancia" is the name of the album and also the song "La Llamaban Maria" talks about the story of a woman that lives in another country and writes letters to his family in Mexico (or another latin american country). The songs "Ojala que te mueras" and "Amar sin ser amado" are O.K., but the album misses the same power of other albums with Jose Jose.

SPANISH Con la producción del compositor Roberto Livi otra vez, José graba este album que es como la segunda parte de "Mujeriego", pero con más búsqueda en los temas. José José dijo que este album está dedicado al público mexico-americano. Es por eso que "Distancia" es el nombre del disco y que "La llamaban María" hable de una mujer que vive en otro país y que escribe cartas a su familia en México (u otro país latinoamericano). Las canciones "Ojalá que te mueras" y "Amar sin ser amado" suenan bien pero al album le falta la fuerza de otros álbumes de José.

While on a trip to Mexico recently, I bought this CD and have nearly worn it out. Every song on this CD is wonderful. Jose is full of rich deep romantic rhythm and has a great Latin beat as well.

Once again, you can relive the feeling and inspiration that José José gave his fans in the 70's and 80's. The songs are tender, full of feeling, and romantic. I have always enjoyed his earlier work. Now, I have fallen in love with him all over again!!
