This particular track just blew me away as I watched the French film "Thieves". There's nothing Arabic about me: I'm English - but I have to say this piece of music is magical, uplifting, exotic and simply fabulous. You'll want to play it over and over: The whole thing is highly recommended.

I gave this album to some of my friends and they all loved it. I think cheb Mami and Khaled are the best rai artists around. unlike other arabic singers and musicians, Mami and Khaled are very creative and everytime a new album of thiers comes out, its always something different. "let me Rai" and Khaled's "Sahra" are perfect introduction to rai for first time listners,i dont know which is better than the other.

as soon as I heard this album.After Desert Rose (which actually introduced me to Mami), this was one of the first CDs I came across while exploring Mami's albums.

It serves as an excellent introduction to 'Rai' music, for those testing waters in this new territory; for those interested in finer aspects of music, it proves to be a versatile blend of authentic Algerian melodies with modern music adorned by a sensuous, soaring, velvet voice that promises to take you to realms unknown !!

Cheb mami's best??.......2001-07-19

Let Me Rai is one of my favourite albums, and in my opinion, Cheb Mami's best. From the first track, his music is absolutely compelling with a fabulous arrangement underscoring his wonderful voice. I love Rai music, and am a devoted fan of Khaled, Cheb Hasni and the new star on the scene, Faudel. But this is the album I trot out to give my friends their first taste of rai. And it's also the album I turn on to listen to on the patio outside, and set my neighbours dancing. A wonderful introduction to rai and crossover music from North Africa, and a doorway into the abundance of super talent that that genre has produced. Need I say, very highly recommended.

Cheb Mami unifying Algerian-Americans.......2001-05-12

While reading the reviews, I discovered one written by a 14 year old Algerian-American. My son is Algerian-American and 14 years old also.
