Editorial Reviews
Bossa Nova was First Heard in the Cafes of Brazil in 1958 and Caught on Like Wildfire after the Inclusion of "a Felicidade" on the Soundtrack of the Film "Black Orpheus". The Start of the 60's Saw the Exultation of Luiz Bonfa, Joao Gilberto (And his Wife Astrud), Stan Getz and the Father of the Movement, Antonio Carlos Jobim, in Many Pop and Jazz Recordings. Their Legacy Shines on Brightly as Shown on the Songs of this Very Special Collection. These Tracks Are Prime Examples of the Modern Bossa Movement that Sometimes Fuses Other Modern Pop Elements Into the Mix, Adding Entirely New Dimensions to the Music. Just Listen to Zuco 103, Bebel Gilberto (Joao's Daughter) Or Suba. The Beat is Irresistable as Ever, the Melodies as Sweet and Intricate as When the Movement First Began. Rest Assured this Set Will Be a Treasured Addtion to Your Collection and Compel You to Play it with Great Frequency!

Absolutely Fantastic Compilation.......2002-09-01
Featured artists include Marcos Valle, Bebel Gilberto, Carla Alexandar, Mo Horizons, Tom & Joyce, Da Lata and many more. If you follow this genre, you'll probably recognize 90% of the artists included. Surprisingly, most of the cd is not an overlap if you collect the other compilations. The CD starts out slower with Patricia Marx E O Meu Amor Vi Passar, then stays mellow with Marcos Valle. Then a subtle beat is added when you hear the remix to August Day Song by Bebel Gilberto, then into a lounge mood in the Jet Sounds remix (Nicola Conte) of "Tic Tac" (do not worry, it is not THE Tic Tac that you know of from Brasil). Rounded out, you slide through Tom & Joyce, hit Suba and Da Lata and the CD ends with a soulful track by Tim Hutton.
I definitely recommend this CD - it's fantastic. If you want something similar, of the compilations mentioned, probably the Break & Bossa series comes the closest.
