Armando Peralta Great I cant wait for the upcoming LP Album.......2005-02-13

The Ep Este Fuego I really enjoy and I only wish it had been a full production . I wish as others have mentioned in reviews to really see this artist bare his soul on more tracks but the tracks that are on the EP are worth it especially when you buy an album usually thiers only 2 or 3 good tracks .
Armando's depth as far as emotional connection is awsome on Maria Sonny fortune saxophone legend and the incredible Omar Hakim make this CD really special. It really touched my soul and reminded me of a great love I had in my Youth . As far as other tracks my girlfriend/Fiance loves "Seeing is Believing"
I would highly recommend this CD to anyone.
I have also heard through media Armando will soon finally release your next production after some years.
If you read this Armando Im very much looking forward to that Production Mr Peralta . If this is an indicater what a your obviously talent and deep soul has shown I wouldnt be surprised the incredible great career you have ahead of you.

Could Be Great. And yet..........2003-07-23

Este Fuego is tough. As other reviewers noted, the cd seems rather "emotion-ful". Seeing is Believing is sharp, maybe even deserves a place on one of your regular playlists. Instrumental Maria is sweet; I love it.
So far so good.
The vocals are solid. The musicianship of the various guest players obviously runs deep, and I must assume that to hang with them, the same should be said for Sr. Peralta's skills.
So far even better.
And yet...
On contrast, I wound up feeling a bit sucker-punched by the artist's "emotion-ful" lyrics. I connected, but just briefly.
We seem to get hints of a greater whole. I kept waiting for the promised whole but got only snippets. A hidden sadness? A joy that underlies the pain? Vice versa?
Well, all good, but I needed to hear it expressed. Tell us why and what, and in 3 minutes. Some tracks seemed to rely far too heavily on lyrical cliches to blast "emotion" through. At end of day, these same cliches cheapened the package.
I kept finding myself wanting to meet the artist, Peralta, who occasionally had moved me, ever so slightly, off my balance.
And yet.
The drat! of it is where the songs promised honesty, I got forced honesty. A cliche. Yet where I didn't get cliche, I got little lyrical satisfaction.
Perhaps I'm being too harsh.
This is a nice opening effort. I wish Peralta much success.
I will buy (!) his next disc.
And yet I hope that this real artist will plumb his psyche far more, and put himself - all of himself - on display next time.

This album is brilliant, an expression of true emotions in a way that only this artist can deliver. Armando seems to be able to create a sound that is unique and rich, capturing feelings that defy description. A masterpiece!
This album should be a staple in any music lover's collection.

Just incredible..........2005-05-23

This recording draws together some of the works by composers of the Real Audiencia de Charcas which use the texts published in the villancico collections of Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz. Focusing primarily on three composers - Juan de Araujo, Antonio Duran de la Mota and the pure blood criollo Manuel de Mesa - the programme gives an excellent indication of the type of music heard in Bolivia in the 18th century. The performances are absolutely outstanding - truly, you'd be hard pressed to find a better CD of New-World Baroque music. If you haven't come across this group or this music before, this would be an excellent place to start!!
