About the Artist
MYSTIC PETE (Peter Ludwig) has played in orchestras, accompanied poets such as Coleman Barks, produced the world/dance band, "Tonehenge," and now leads groups on inner journeys through sound. His tours of the U.S. West coast has included Agape Church, Esalen, Center For The Moving Arts, SOMARTS, Temple Bar, Liberation Yoga, Highways, The Troubadour and B.B. Kings, and he has had several live radio appearances on KPFK and KXLU in Los Angeles, including on The Aware Show with Lisa Garr.

Found This Amazing Music on Zen Candles DVD, Must Buy!.......2007-06-01

I found this music on a DVD called "Zen Candles" the music is so moving and medatative that I had to have the soundtrack to mediatate and relax with. Mystic Pete is a gem that everyone needs to own, turn the lights down, turn on this music and relax, stop stress and I guarantee that if you spend 30 minutes a day with this music you will be a happier person. This CD is truly an experience. The songs individually are beautiful and moving, and taken as a whole it sets a heartbreaking but uplifting mood. It is good enough to listen to alone with headphones and nothing else, or to put on in the background. The lyrics are unique and paint a rich landscape of the south, but avoid being pretentious or overly wrought. I would list standout tracks, but over many listenings, each one has separated itself in its own way.

There is such beauty to this CD, you can't help but be transported by listening to it. I can't even describe it well enough. You will NOT regret buying this CD. If you have the chance to see them live, go!

music to move your soul. Hope for agoldensummer came out of no were and moved my soul, this music is so strong so powerfull it sometimes makes me cry. ITs rare to see a band live who is just as good live as they are on there cd and this is one of those bands If you want an album that will move and awaken your soul then this is the cd for you!

THE BEST BAND IN ATHENS?.......2005-08-26

Yes, "Hope for a Goldensummer" (H-FAG) is definitely the best band in Athens, GA, and that it quite an accomplishment if one takes into account the excellent bands coming from that town (REM, Love Tractor, Pylon). I lived in Athens for one year, and I was lucky to see them 4 times live... Believe me: the music of this band is magical. It's honest, deep, intelligent and made with the heart. They have done what few achieve: play their songs in a way that people like it, and express their feeling in a way that people understand. They communicate what they want to say in a perfect manner. This band deserves to be BIG, to be on the Billboard, and become a well-known band. If you decide to buy the album, listen to the last song "Laying down the gun"... polyphonic perfection!!

If this wonderful quintet decides to honor your town by playing there, be sure to not miss it.

Good effort, poor remastering........2005-10-13

This was the first compilation I bought on Ruth Copeland containing most of the contents of her only 2 albums on Invictus Records. This cd has been re-mastered from phonograph records instead of the real master tapes. The listener will hear the pops and crackles of the needle in the groove. To add insult to injury, they omitted one of the best performances by Ruth Copeland, "Madame Butterfly". This is inexcusable.

Its too bad there are only clips from the 1st 5 songs, b/c its on the last half that the disc gets its funky, infectious tough spirit. She can be a bit folksy, but she can also really rip it up. Required for any PFunk afficianados. And what a hottie!

I remember this artist from the 70's in the Detroit area. Great performer and lyricist. Wonder what she's up to now? The CD brings back lots of memories for me and my misspent youth.
