With just one EP and one full-length album, (1983s "RATT" and 1984s "Out of the Cellar") RATT became one of the biggest rock bands in the world. Wasting no time, RATT returned to the studio after a massive world tour and released their second album "Invasion of Your Privacy" (1985).

RATT's second album pretty much is cut from the same cloth as the debut. It's the same sort of David Lee Roth-era Van Halen meets KISS meets Judas Priest formula that is apparent on "Out of the Cellar." Compared to the debut, however, the songs here are not quite as edgy and sound more polished. While "Out of the Cellar" was sure to have pleased Ozzy and maybe even Metallica fans, "Invasion of Your Privacy" seems to be aiming more for the mainstream. This is apparent as RATT goes into power-balled territory with "Got me on the Line." Some of the edge and momentum from the debut dwindled somewhat as the lyrics on "Invasion of Your Privacy" are far more cliche and cheesy than they were on the debut, i.e., "dangerous but worth the risk."

Even if "Invasion of Your Privacy" is slicker then its predecessor, however, it's still a fine album. Much like the debut, RATT's sophomore outing is loaded with great hooks, awesome solos and the song-writing is generally pretty strong. The hit singles on this album, "Lay it Down" and "You're in Love" rank among the best of the entire 1980s pop-metal genre. The rest of the album, while not as strong as the non-singles on the debut, is still enjoyable, if not all that memorable.

While "Invasion of Your Privacy" hasn't aged well, it's still worth owning if you are a fan of 80s hard-rock/metal.

5 out of 5 stars RATT & Roll.......2007-06-07

The cassette was excellent, and now the C.D. lives on in my collection.
Amazon delivered as they promised. The product arrived quickly and in wonderful condition.
If you are looking to update your 80's collection Amazon is the place to do it. They really have wonderful deals on their 80's C.D.'s .

4 out of 5 stars "Well turn around, remember me".......2007-01-27

It's amazed me, in retrospect, that heavy metal was able to produce some great love songs without the melodies sounding sappy and the lyrics gooey. They could even use the word "love" without rolling your eyes (well, that was the case for me).

"Invasion of Your Privacy" is not only Ratt at their best, but a great representation of 80s metal. The first three cuts - You're in Love, Never Use Love, and Lay It Down - are my favorites and never fail to bring a smile to my face as it gets me to thinking I was only 9 years old when I heard them for the first time (and on wonderful vinyl!). I'm just shaking my head thinking this album is over 20 years old! Time sure does fly!

Truth be told, I wasn't a mega-Ratt fan, but I loved this album and it's on my short list of albums to add to the collection. - Donna Di Giacomo

5 out of 5 stars RATT'S BEST ALBUM!.......2006-07-22

This to me is Ratt at their very best, I cant find one bad song on here, all of them are good. The songs that desearve a lot of attention are 'Your In Love', Lay It Down', and 'What You Give Is What You Get'. It is worth all the money, so get this one as soon as possible, you'll be glad you did.

4 out of 5 stars Ophélie Winner.......2003-09-08

Ooh, I love this LP. It's got such spunk to it and the title, ``Privacy``, really intrigued me. Ophélie Winter proves she's not just another beautiful face (and what a beautiful face she has), but also a talent in the business and force to reckon with.

1. Dans Mon Intimité - 3/5 - Not a bad start to the album, but definitely the best place to put a sleeper song. People are going to fast forward to the really big tracks anyway.

2. This Is How I'm Gonna Make You Mine - 5/5 - My non-Francophone friends love this song and can't understand why she is not a huge success in the United States. They contest they would buy an album of hers in English. `This` is catchy and fun and a nice, lite listen.

3. Elle Pleure - 5/5 - The lite listen ends here. What a powerful song with excellent arrangements and melodies. They lyrics are fascinating.

4. Je Cours - 4/5 - Listenable. Not spectacular, but listenable.

5. Je Marche à l'Envers - 5/5 - The guitars give the album a little something different than the otherwise pop/r&b feel. It's almost Michelle Branch/Stacie Orricco-esque and it's a great fun song.

6. Non-Stop - 5/5 - What fun. I like the refrain, it's quite slow-groove-dance-by-yourself kinda thing.

7. Tout l'Monde - ? - It can't be that fantastic if I can't even remember how it goes.

8. Il Va Me Rendre Folle - 4/5 - While upbeat and catchy, this song sounded a little shrill and bland to me. I'm also not a big fan of its title.

9. Si J'ai Brulé Mon Coeur - 4/5 - A rather enjoyable song. Beautiful lyrics and title. What IF I burned my heart, indeed?

10. A Genoux - 5/5 - One of my favorite tracks from the album. It's a [booty]-kicking song - and I like the way the lyrics rhyme in the refrain.

11. Ce Que Je Suis - 4/5 - I certainly didn't like Christina Aguilera's English version of the same song, but Ophélie's muted approach makes it somehow more palatable.

12. Je Ne Serais Rien - 5/5 - Nice, pretty slow song. Not much to object to.

Overall 4/5

A friend of mine went to France and told me about Ophelie Winter, so I decided that I'd just get the CD and see what it was like... well, I've had it for a year and I still play it all the time. It's one of the best CD I've got.

5 out of 5 stars Ophelie Winter.......2000-01-23

This is a great cd. If you like poular French music this is definately the cd for you. When I studied in France Ophelie's song, "Elle Pleure" was very poular. If you have heard this cd you might also enjoy listening to a little Lara Fabien and a bit of Notre Dame de Paris. As for Ophelie, she is amazing and I recommend her cd to all.

I've been a fan of her since the first time I hearded her on the radio. She's got an exceptionnal voice. Really. Her album is very good. The rhythm makes you want to wave your hands up in the air, and because she's very talentous, I'm creating a web site about her. Thanks a lot.END

I love this CD! It is even better than his first. Every song on this CD is great, but there are some real gems here, too. Tops of the list is the song "Cigar". It's a very peaceful bit, that reminds me of relaxing at the end of a long but satisfying day.

Most songs seem to fit well within the Smooth Jazz moniker, but with a little European Techno tossed in occasionally. It all seems to work very well together. It is very well done.

The debut album from new Marriage Records artist Privacy is a soulful and mellow mixture of classic country and folk music. Comparisons will be readily drawn to Tammy Wynette, Willie Nelson, and Bruce Springsteen. Followers of poets EE Cummings, Dylan Thomas, and Raymond Carver will appreciate the artist's rendering of tunes in their spirit. Privacy's Without Mercy is certain to be cherished for it's threadbare, minimal production as a personal and most intimate release.
