5 out of 5 stars An inspiring tribute to Enrico Caruso.......2006-07-19

The first song of the album is inspired and dedicated to Enrico Caruso. I feel it would be appropriate to bring up some information about this exeptional artist:

He was born on February, 1873 in Napoli Italy and died in August, 1921, at the age of 48. He is one of the most famous tenors in the history of opera. During his career, he made close to 260 recordings and made millions of dollars from these records. In 1903, with the help of his agent, he went to New York City to sing with the New York Metropolitan Opera. The following year Caruso began his co-operation with the Victor Talking-Machine Company. One of his 1902 recordings was the world's first gramophone record to sell a million copies. It is noteworthy that many of Caruso's recordings have remained in print since their original issue a century ago! If this is not the definition of classic then what is it?

The rest of te songs in this album are good as well and you wil definatly find interesting the vocals that Lucio Dalla employes in his songs. Besides the fact that it is a live album you do not hear a lot of things from the audience such as singing along, clapping and making any kind of noise you can imagine. I believe this is a plus for any live album.

The songs touch the "fringes" of Jazz. You might not like them by listening to them the first time, but the more you listen to them the more things you discover. If you have not listened to any Italian music before I would not recommend this album.

By the way if you would like to see the lyrics of caruso in English go to: http://www.oneloveandrina.com/journey2004/caruso.html

5 out of 5 stars A MUST!!!!!!!!.......2004-01-15

On this cd you will find the classic CARUSO !!! This live cd his a classic.A must for Jazz, blues and pop music lovers .Lucio Dalla is one of Italy s best. This cd proves it.

5 out of 5 stars So you think you don't like Opera? Think again...........1998-08-24

Lucio Dalla brings to popular music--almost in the same way The Three Tenors did, operatic works that shine as brightly as any contemporary music. The first song, "Caruso", written for the late Italian Tenor of renown, has been sung in concert by "Sting", Pavarotti,& Andrea Boccheli--the blind tenor who MEMORIZES all his works. I am ready to kill for a translation of the words Dalla is singing as, even without knowing the words, I am transported into a bliss that is only matched by listening to Eric Clapton (OK, I have eclectic musical tastes!)
