Really enjoy the Sanskrit music!.......2007-05-14

My mother introduced me to Shanti Shanti after she heard them on "Coast to Coast." I listened to the CDs she bought while reading their book, and I loved what I heard. Every time I went back to visit, I would request to listen to their music on repeat! It strikes a chord in me that feels very natural, peaceful, and fun - both the more traditional chanting pieces and the more modern pieces.

My opinion here is that this isn't the best sanskrit chanting album by any means... I like music with a more full sound, Krishna Das and Jai Uttal, but I would be okay with the new-age sound of this album if it was done well... My advice for anyone who like Shanti Shanti and is thinking about buying another album from them is to check out Deva Premal, Wah!, or Ragani... there is plenty of amazing chanting albums out there, but this isn't one of them.... Love and light!

Sanskrit chants and songs are great.......2003-09-10

LOVE the Sanskrit chants and songs. The other songs are very good, but I prefer the Sanskrit.
I have ordered the first album so that I can hear another selection (MORE!) of the Sanskrit songs.
I hope they have a larger variety of advertisement as the only way I heard them was on a late night talk show 'coast to coast am' - of course, I do not have a television! Perhaps those Sunday newspaper specials or the Saturday sections?
