5 out of 5 stars Phonics Songs.......2000-11-20

The Jazzles A-Z Clever Songs CD is as educational as it is entertaining. As a kindergarten teacher, I am excited by children learning and recalling sound letter relationships by singing these amusing and engaging upbeat contemporary songs. A strong feature of these songs is alliteration and rhyme that assists easy recall. I highly recommend this CD for teachers and parents of children getting ready to read and write.

5 out of 5 stars learning should be fun.......2000-10-16

Having been a teacher for 25 years I know that the most important underlying requirement for success is the ability to read so anything that promotes this is worth a try.I have been teaching 4 and 5 year olds for the past five years and have found that anything to do with music is an instant attention focus for children this age so I was very willing to try out the Jazzles CD.It has been a complete success, I cannot praise it too highly. The songs have catchy tunes that the children love to sing and dance to.We have great fun working out actions to the songs. This is an activity that all the children enjoy and participate in, even those children who are having problems with structured learning respond to Clever Songs.I can download the text so we can reinforce the letter shape as well as the sound. It is important for children of this age to learn the connection between oral and written language so having learnt the song they can then "read" the words which just boosts their self esteem so much. It's a joy to see their expressions of delight.I also like the way Clever Songs uses such a great variety of music styles, from country to rock.I have found that the content of the songs also promote discussion amongst the children regarding anything from science to geography.I will have absolutely no hesitation in adding Clever Songs to my permanent list of resources.Well done!
