Soft Easy Listening Music.......2005-06-27
Well-known Brazilian musician, composer, and musical director Marcus Viana, who has assembled previous successful novela soundtracks (like O Clone, Terra Nostra), has created another winning CD with the A CASA DAS SETE MULHERES. The songs have a soft easy listening quality and capture all the emotions - like playfulness, happiness, and sadness.
Popular Brazilian artists, like Milton Nascimento, Gal Costa, Zizi Possi, Flávio Venturini, Jorge Vercilo, Agnaldo Rayol participate on the album.
For those who are following the novela, here are a few tidbits about some of the songs:
Track #3 - Actor Rodrigo Faro sings La Media Vuelta. He plays the part of Dr. Joaquim (Bento Gonçalves and Caetana's oldest son).
Track #4 - Tristesse (sung by Milton Nascimento and Maria Rita Mariano) is used for Joaquim as he longs for Manuela.
Track #5 - Cavalo Baio (by Sagrado Coração de Terra) is Anita's theme song. It is also used for the soldiers.
Track #7 - Piel de Lava (sung by Paula Santoro) is sometimes used for Bento Gonçalves and Caetana.
Track #8 - Prenda Minha (sung by Flávio Venturini) is João and Mariana's theme song.
Track #9 - Fênix (sung by Jorge Vercilo) is the theme song for Perpétua and Ignácio.
Track #10 - Il Dio dei Buoni (sung by Agnaldo Rayol) is used for Garibaldi.
Track #12 - Uma Voz No Vento (sung by Leila Pinheiro) is the theme song for Rosário and Estevão.
Track #13 - Musical director Marcus Viana sings Vidas, Amores e Guerras.
Track #14 - A Saga dos Pampas (Abertura), is the opening theme song for the novela. Marcus Viana and his orchestra, called Transfônica Orkestra, perform this piece.
There is a second CD soundtrack, SETE VIDAS, AMORES E GUERRAS (Seven Lives, Loves and Wars). Marcus Viana and the Transfônica Orkestra perform mainly instrumental music, which is majestic, haunting, and gripping. At the moment, this disc is unavailable at Amazon.com. However, when it does become available, I highly recommend it as a companion to the first CD.
