Worth Every Dollar.......2004-10-18

I agree with the previous comment about Information Society's cover of the Doomsday Theme; it's just great!

Another stand-out that I adore is Leaetherstrip's cover of the X Files theme. It is haunting and sounds as if it was written for the movie (which was released in the summer of '98).

The cover of the Lost in Space theme is way better than version made by Apollo 440, for the movie version of "Lost In Space".

The euphoric high of the disc is "In Search of" by Cathexis. Listening to that song is a guilty pleasure of mine.

If you appreciate the original music you need to do yourself a favor and listen to disc a couple times. Don't be afraid of the bass, it's there for a very good reason!

Ok Mixes but not the Original Music.......2001-05-12

The Mixs on this CD are good like track 6 Dr. Who Themeand trck 11 In search of theme. If you are looking for the original themes and music I would recommend that you look else where, but it is still a good CD.

CD was re-released as "ELECTRONICA SCI-FI" on the Alpha Wave label in 1998. Mixes are very good, especially tack 9 "Star Trek Doomsday Theme" by Information Society.

Very Atmosheric.......2004-11-23

We needed appropriate music for our Halloween costume party which had a Middle Eastern/Egyptian theme to it this year and I lucked onto this disc at Borders. It is not too over the top "ethnic" sounding that can sometimes wear on Western ears, but authentic enough to get a good vibe. The overall effect was very well received, on shufffle play with "Hookah Cafe"and Arkenstones' Adventure Cargo "Echoes of Egypt" offering; the whole thing had the desired effect of creating a very exotic and mysterious mood. Highly Recommended!!!!

Unexpected Happiness.......2004-09-10

I discovered the Cleopatra 2 CD's while browsing at a local Borders. I used the listening station and decided to purchase these CD's based on what I heard. I was not disappointed. The word to describe my feeling after listening to these CD's was, happy. These CD's are just a good world mix. I half expected these CD's to be cheesy, but I was gladly proved wrong. The first disc is the slower of the two, and the second disc can definately be described as techno. I loved them. I brought them home and listened to them twice, because they were that good.

It is my belief that we as Americans just aren't subjected to this kind of music enough. I think these CD's are intelligent, balanced, and just plain fun. They bring a smile to your face. I bet the people compiling these CD's had a lot of fun, too. Do I encourage you to purchase these CD's? Whole heartedly, you will not be disappointed. I think they did a fantastic job. These artists are incredible.

I dont know what some people are thinking, but this CD is very very good! I was majorly impressed! #3 is by far the best.

You can do better........2003-11-02

The sound engineer for this title should be publicly flogged. As soon as the music started I was diving for the equalizer. Even for dance tracks the bassline is terribly, (almost comically,) overwrought. The first four tracks are a writeoff. A couple of the later ones salvage the CD somewhat (assuming you have your bass dial/knob/bar/etc all the way down,) but with so many good international recordings out there, I'd strongly recommend against this one.

Fun & lively variety of music.......2003-08-03

What a fun album! Some of the songs on this album are fully Latin sounding, others are fully Arabic sounding, and yet others are a kind of mixture of the two sounds. There's even a Eurobeat song on here (I'd say Italian disco but it's sung in French). There is a mixture of styles on here, but nearly all the songs are thoroughly danceable; it's a great party album that pulls you to your feet for festive celebrating!
