About the Artist
Café Accordion Orchestra (CAO) performs an eclectic mix of French Musette, vintage swing, Latin and European dance music styles. Their repertoire is that of the "Bal Musette" orchestra, through which they recreate the music that was popular in Parisian dance halls, cafés and bistros in the 1920's through 1950's.

In addition to the valse-musette, CAO's repertoire includes foxtrot, swing, tango, paso doble, polka, bolero and rhumba selections. CAO injects their music with good humor and expressive abandon. They play it for what it truly is - dance party music.

Café Accordion Orchestra is lead by Daniel Newton on accordion and vocals, with Brian Barnes on guitar and vocals, Eric Mohring on mandolin, fiddle and vocals, Erik Lillestol on bass violin, and Joe Steinger on percussion. The members have a combined total of over a century of experience with the likes of Stoney Lonesome, the Bone Tones, The Nationals, Jumbo YaYa, Prairie Home Companion, the Ethnic Dance Theater and the Laketown Buskers.

Album Description

Cafe Europa, David Wilson's latest release, continues the Romantic sound popularized on his earlier recordings, "ther's a small hotel" and "The Romance of Paris". These albums helped David secure thousands of fans enamored of his unique and warm violin stylings. David's elegant playing is accompanied by piano, guitar, bass and drums. Cafe Europa is a wonderful collection of treasured standards and a couple of original songs performed as only David Wilson can do it.

David Wilson makes the violin talk. The result is breathtaking. Those who appreciate artistic expression will love hearing this master. Each piece is stunningly alive. A must for anyone that has ever had a feeling, sense of rhythm, or memory of something wonderful. David Wilson brings it all into incredible focus. A true and rare talent. So glad to have found him!

I really enjoy David Wilson's musical interpretations of some of the old and new classics. It's soothing and reminds my husband and I of some great fun times.

I have always had a special place in my heart for Liberace and his interpretations of the older wonderful songs, but since his passing I have looked for a replacement for my musical yearnings and I have now found it in David Wilson. His style, his interpretations and his feel for the beauty of the song are so completely expressed in his songs that it takes my breath away! I absolutely love everything he plays. I would really love to hear him in person and I do hope to be able to buy each and every one of his cds as they become available. Buy all of his recordings and you will be swept away believe me!!!!! .

Another David Wilson Winner.......2000-06-14

As is true of David Wilson's previous CD's, this one is wonderful too. In searching for words to describe this music, the ones that comes to mind are "sweet" and "relaxing." Though I've never been to the tropics, I can almost picture myself in a chaise lounge by the ocean, sipping a pina colada and listening to David Wilson. I've always been partial to the older songs and would never have thought I'd be attracted to violin music. My sister heard his music in a boutique in Florida, bought the CD and got the whole family hooked!

Cozy Feel Good Favorite.......2006-12-11

This cd has provided me with more enjoyment than any other Christmas cd I own. It has a cozy, familiar feeling, yet each song gives a new twist to an old favorite. Deck the Halls is syncopated and fun, the tight harmonies on Angels We Have Heard on High is a warm fit, Children, Go Where I Send Thee, How Shall I Send Thee is a foot-stomper, I Saw Three Ships and Away in a Manger (with a simple third harmony) are two of my favorites with haunting renditions, and the list goes on. It is an advantage that none of the nine singers are stars; their blendings are easy and enjoyable. Acoustic guitar, mandolin, electric and acoustic bass all compliment the voices. Although none of the arrangements are what I would call traditional, but you'll find yourself leaving this in the cd player to enjoy over and over during the holidays.

I found this album in a convenience store in Georgia one Christmas, and it quickly became a fixture in my annual Christmas music lineup. Refreshingly devoid of 'stars,' Café Christmas simply features wonderful vocalists and musicians who perform terrific new arrangements of traditional carols and hymns. The liner notes dub this acoustic folk rock, and the touch of country thrown in (it was recorded in Tennessee) make for renditions that are upbeat and lively as well as reverent-and great for singing along. Along with standards like We Wish You a Merry Christmas and O Come All Ye Faithful are less-often covered numbers like Children, Go Where I Send Thee, Rise Up Shepard and Follow (both traditional spirituals) and the beautiful Infant Holy, Infant Lowly. One of my all-time favorites, at this price you truly cannot go wrong. Merry Christmas!

Classic Christmas Album.......2003-11-18

This is one of my all time favorite Christmas albums that was given to me as a gift a few years ago. All of the tracks are well produced, acoustic versions of many timeless classics. A great edition to any music library, and a wonderful album to listen to during the holidays!
