5 out of 5 stars Great Song!!.......2006-02-21

This song is a must have especially if you are a Gackt fan. Watch the video from back in 2004 on youtube.com it is just as wonderful. Even if you are not a fan of Japanese music, you will love this CD.

5 out of 5 stars Great, but not perfect........2002-10-27

I think it is important to note that the singer is not Japanese. It is done by Alfredo Casero, who has done many Latin American tracks, such as "Usa Condon". The instrument in the background is known as a koto, and Japanese type of guitar.
In the original I think the main singer's trying to imitate the style of male enka singers, and Japanese punk rock, but the stressing on certain syllables points him out as a non-native speaker. The punkish singing of the chorus is great. I also personally enjoyed the contrast between the rough punkers in the front with the traditional Japanese female singers. Overall it is quite enjoyable, but a few more language lessons would have made it better.
P.T. Barnum said once, "If they like one horse, they will like two as well," and I agree. Although the mixing of Japanese music, to trance beats is great, it is by no means new. For example, take the two tracks from a Japanese DJ named Re-Venge: Orion 47, and Japan (Insert kanji for festival here, which is "matsuri" in romanji). Both are featured in Dance Dance Revolution. Orion 47 is a mix of Okinawan folk music, which you may or may not consider Japanese, and dance beat. Japan "matsuri" is festival music mixed to a dance beat.
All in all, the trance remix is beautiful, and the rock is pretty good. I loved it.

5 out of 5 stars AWESOME SONG.......2002-10-09

both the original song and the techno remix are awesome songs... don't understand japanese and i'm not really into japanese pop but this song's really addicting. heard it on 92.7 party, it's a kool song, especially w/ that weird asian twangy instrument goin in the background.
