I searched all the local stores for this CD and I was really amazed to find a Brasilian artists CD listed on Amazon, This Cd has some of his best music and is probably the why it was hard to find.

BEAUTIFUL,SACRED,SEAMLESS,ROMANTIC,SACRED! If I could have only one CD on my island, this would be it! If anyone else out there knows of an artist similar or better, please let me know, because I am in not in 7th heaven, I am in infinity heaven!Roberto Carlos Fan Club, sign me up! Just spent 2 months in Brazil collecting music, and am returning to live there, so if you love Roberto Carlos, please let me know what else rocks your musical world, and we can explore new heavens. I have always kept ear to all kinds of music -rock, new age, classical,devotional,romantic,etnic,reggae, etc...and this CD cuts across most of these. A knock my socks off and knit me another pair experience. Obrigaga Roberto, and a HUGE hug and kiss!

A Good Collection, but..........2002-05-27

I've known and followed Roberto Carlos' career since 1971.
I certainly could appreciate a well rounded original Portuguese version of his hits,as he represents one of Brazil's best exports as well as a national icon. This CD "30 Grandes Sucessos" does a fairly good attempt of bringing us "greatest hits". The sound is GREAT, especially for those 1971-6 tracks.
A definitive collection of his local and international hits is NOT. I fail to understand how Columbia Brazil saw it fit to release this set without the original versions of "A Distancia"
and "Un gatto nel blu". This is as releasing "Beatles 1" without A Hard Days Night and Help! Some obscure B tracks were thrown here as well as repeating "Todas as nossas senhoras" twice: by being the first track of Vols 1 and 2. Now, why would you want to do this? It is otherwise a noteworthy addition to the CD player on a lazy Sunday afternoon or while at your leisure...It is recommended, though an opportunity of releasing a definitive gem was lost, and for this reason I gave it 4 stars.

I grew up with this music, on an island far away in Europe. The words in Roberto Carlo's songs described so many things that I wanted to say but did not know how. Years later I find the same sounds and lyrics on amazon.com. It's a jungle out there, but you still find a treasure once in a while. If you like romantic melodies, get this. If you don't understand the words, learn them. The lyrics still say it all, 28 years later.

The best in portuguese.......2001-07-02

During the seventies, Spanish love songs from Roberto Carlos were very popular and now you can get the same songs in his original language: Portuguese. Talk about cultural diversity! This album is an excellent recopilation of Carlos best songs ever. This album is similar to his album in Spanish "30 Grandes canciones". If you plan to discover a new culture and language, I recommend it strongly because it shows its sensitivity, romance and true poetry to its words. The recording is from Sonnymusic and the themes as well of the quality are also great. Please, I invite you to discover Roberto Carlos in his wonderful "30 Grandes Sucessos."
