Named after a mythical North African wind that stirred passion in the hearts of Europeans touched by it, Ziroq offers the same effect through its music. This band of veteran sidemen, led by songwriters Marcus Nand and Carmine Rojas, sweep through various countries, taking on such seductive sounds as pop-oriented flamenco, Gypsy, and Arabic music, while adding exotic Indian flourishes and a few other tasteful odds and ends. The suave Nand sings throughout, proving to be a fine pop vocalist (with lyrics in both Spanish and English) whose sensual rasp isn't too far from that of Peter Gabriel. Also like Gabriel, this quintet incorporates smooth, modern-sounding production that gracefully supports the ethnic elements of the music with a skillful flair that will appeal to fans of various tasteful but technologically savvy fusions of world music. Certainly off to an auspicious beginning, it would seem that the members of Ziroq will spend much of their time focusing on the band in the years to come. --Tad Hendrickson

When I first heard this CD, I was mesmerized immediately. This is has to be the deepest CD I've heard in a very long time. As you listen to it, the percussion, the clapping, the guitar's strength and the life in every note, awakens your spirit, reaching deep within your soul, lifting you up, making you feel more alive than ever.
I strongly recommend this CD to anyone who likes passionate music, because this CD is filled with it. I find myself clapping, singing and dancing "unwillingly" to almost every song. Patio Del Moro, Nomad and Voices have no comparison.
Ziroq ~ Os agradezco con todo el alma vuestro talento. Os deseo lo mejor.

I just purchased this great and outstanding cd,and I love it.This Cd starts with some hot spanish gypsy style with the lead guitar of Marcus Nand. Ziroq blend the spanish music with pop,latin,also arabic style.The ziroq express how well they play this music.The most vivid and beautiful of this cd is on some tracks,Marcus plays an outstanding guitar music with fury and passion. The adding the arabic music to the flamenco music is a creative job that Ziroq had done.Oh,yeah,the vocal sound of Marcus really are melodious and gypsy syle,and it matches with this music....After all of these,the track the most I love in this Cd, is number 11,NOMADE,..My heart flies when this song plays.Buy this cd, ENJOY IT.....viva ziroq......

This is an amazing, original cd. It makes me want to light candles and dance in front of a mirror. I love the driving bass-they are just incredible musicians.

what a fantastic album. I will definitely be looking out for these guys. its refreshing to find such original music and good to see so much talent on the album. This will surely go down as one of my favorites.
