Sounds like reggae-lite, I like this band alot, but I think the backup sounds need to be filled-in with the addition of, I don't know, more instrumentation I think. The melody is right-on, just something is missing. I really really like the live MTV Cidade Negra: Acustico MTV much better.

Cidade Negra is just plain fantastic! From the bouncy "Eu Fui," which chronicles thier visits playing Reggae with the greats all over the world, to the seductive "Doutor" and "Onde Voce Mora?" these tracks are all great. Of course, I can't leave out the anthem "Querem Meu Sangue," which is pure fun. Great for fans of Brazilian Reggae.

Oi!... this is definitely the best reggae album Ive heard.. and a great intro to Cidade Negra. Its been stuck(well almost) in my cd player ever since I bought it six months ago.. the lyrics are great and the music is even better. you'll not regret buying this, trust me:) tchau!

Cidade Negra was a good reggae band but they turn themselves in a comertial pop band. This CD have good some good reggae songs an many pop songs. If you are looking for roots reggae it's not a CD to buy. You better look for Edson Gomes or Tribo de Jah.

Originally released in Brasil in 1993, "Sobre Todas As Forças" is the best reggae album since Bob Marley and the Wailers' "Legend" album. Cidade Negra's mix of reggae, pop, rock, disco, and traditional Brasilian music adds a fresh new flavor to the music scene. Their unique sound has been imitated(but not duplicated) by bands such as Sublime. Cidade Negra is by far the best reggae band in Brasil.
