William jackson does it again with this (rather strangely titled) new assemblage of nuevo-celt music. You really can't go wrong with any of his albums, and this is everything the title suggests, I can't recommend it highly enough.

Sorry, but I REALLY loathe this album.......2006-01-09

Okay I admit, there may be some pleasant moments in this album (but they are just moments), and some tracks ARE done well, but the album as a whole doesn't work. You DON'T create celtic music by making a cover version of a song with a guitar and a penny whistle. Nor is it fair to give the impression that these are by the original artists because, on my copy at least, they aren't.

The real problem is that this is supposed to be an album that creates a mood. For me, it fails dismally because just at the point where you feel "yes, this is celtic", it sticks in a track like "Evergreen" that breaks the celtic feel like nails scratched down a blackboard. How could "Walking in the air" or "Scarborough Fair" or "The Sound of Silence" EVER be rendered as celtic melodies? Don't bother to answer that - they can't - and that's the point. Too many tracks appear in here that can't be associated with the celtic style. Had they stuck the better tracks on one CD and dumped the tracks that are there as padding to make up two CDs, it would have worked a lot better.

My wife, who loves celtic music, asked me "Why on Earth did you buy this?". Well, Dear, it was because I didn't listen to it first...

There are some really great songs on the disc and for lovers of classical music it will be great. It is also very realxing to listen to

Celtic Bliss.......2002-07-10

This album is pure bliss. Celtic music has always had a great spirit & heartfelt emotion & this washes over you like soothing balm. If you are a lover of Enya & Clannad then this is for you. The blend of vocals & instrumentals is superb. Standout tracks are Women Of Ireland, Valentino & Only A Womans Heart. Having said that they are all either good or great. Highly recommended.
