5 out of 5 stars SOMETIMES YOU WAIT YEARS FOR A CD LIKE THIS TO ARRIVE.......2000-02-27

THIS IS A STUNNING, ALL-INSTRUMENTAL CD OF LIVELY IRISH TUNES PLAYED BY A QUINTET CONSISTING OF 2 FIDDLES, A VIOLA, CELLO AND DOUBLE BASE. FOUR ADDITIONAL FIDDLERS, INCLUDING TOMMY PEOPLES, ARE GUEST MUSICIANS. THE MUSICIANSHIP AND INTERPLAY OF THE PLAYERS IS SUPERB. THE CLAPPING OF THE AUDIENCE BETWEEN TRACKS IS NOT LONG, AND DOESN'T DETRACT FROM THIS GREAT CD. I HAVE NEVER REVIEWED A CD ONLINE OR OTHERWISE LIKE THIS BEFORE, BUT THIS GROUP MADE MY MORNING AFTER I PUT IT ON THE CD PLAYER AND I CAN ONLY WISH THEM THE GREATEST OF SUCCESS, SO I'M HOPING THIS REVIEW HELPS.

5 out of 5 stars Keeping the memory of Hal Kemp.......2001-06-28

What an absolute fantastic CD!!! Everyone should own this, and I mean everyone. The band slighty swings and the vocals by Skinnay are great and the tunes are wonderful. I mean can anyone top- "Rhythm is our business" and " Cheek to Cheek" and let's not forget "Scatterbrain" ! The second half of the CD is a live radio remote of Skinnay and his band (and if you can stomach a young Bert Parks as the announcer)you'll love it just as much as the first half. This is by far and away my favorite CD of all time and I can't stop telling people about it...I just wish there was more Skinnay Ennis music out there to enjoy. So for now will all have to listen to this and just thank our lucky starts we have it!
