The Sabri Brothers are huge stars in Pakistan, having been part of the Sufi music scene there longer than any other popular artists. They have made forays into the international limelight a few times in the past few decades, bringing both the deep devotion and energy of the music and often a few surprises (like the guitars, something that shocked purists audiences in the '70s!). They are never wildly experimental like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan often was, but they nevertheless do push the boundaries of tradition, presenting four long tracks that incorporate bass and saxophone into the basic qawwal formula of ecstatic voices, percussion, and harmonium (a small pump organ that sits on the floor in front of the seated player). The Sabris are masters of the art, and this record continues their saga with respect and enthusiasm. --Louis Gibson

Delectable blend of Melody and Rythm.......2006-12-25
True qawwali.......2004-01-17
a great album from the true 'Kings of Qawalli'.......2001-11-28
This is a truly spiritually uplifting album. The Sabris can be truly considered the 'KIngs of Qawwalli'. While one must at all times respect the contribution made by Ustad Nusrat to qawwalli, we must also recognise that unlike him the Sabri Braadraan have stayed true to their qawwalli roots. they have not decided to venture into pop, or Bollywood/ Lollywood, in a pitiful attempt to makr money. Instead they have produced and performed in the manner of th true qawwals that they are. the love of Allah and their pride in themselves motivates them, not money. A fantastic example of qawwalli in its undiluted form in this album.
Nusret Fateh Ali Khan copycats for money........2001-03-20
Real Sufi music does not sound evil. It sounds sweet, mellow, and peaceful. Try Abida Parveen or any other Sufi music from Sindh.
One of their best albums.......2000-11-25
Personally speaking, most Sabri Brother albums have left me feeling that they have not been able to capture the magic of their live concerts. Blame it on poor recording quality or anything else. But I have no complaints about this one.
